I knew you would pick up on that, what I mean is he's very umm "sunday driver", there's no sign of his body controlling the car, his head direction was what made me think it. If you watch WRC or drifting vids the drivers have emotion and movements that show they are working on controlling car. Just a personal observation is all, GT4 has the same thing except for the open-top cars where you see the driver wrestling and fighting with the car.

That is all.

oh no! it's the "emotion" dribble again!

just kidding, I get what you're saying. Still, it's not a vid, so it's hard to judge the quality of the animation.

A 4 point harness keeps you pretty secure from moving around and a massive helmet must limit movement. I find it hard that you can judge someone's mood or even want to judge someone's mood from a helmet :)

very strange

More the direction that the helmet is pointing, seriously mate watch rally or drifting and you'll see it for yourself. In fact with the pic you posted look at the way his body is pointing, towards the turn. Hey GT4 doesn't have except for open-tops so it was just an observation. And the harness and helmet provide protection only, you can still move your arms, legs and head.

Think before you post Front, seriously.

It's a pointless discussion :yuck:

it's a helmet for crying out loud the angle of the helmet doe's not change to the degree where you can tell "EMOTION" that was my point no you "CANNOT" judge emotion of a driver WITH a helmet you can judge how fast he's taking the corner etc... the G Forces applied but not the emotion.

Think before "you" post....

Nope if the head is tilted slightly inward and at an angle and if he's turning or sliding hard then his body will be at a slight angle also, that's how you can tell he's fighting and having fun with the car and thrashing it about. This is how you can judge the "emotion" the driver is showing.

If you watched racing you'd know this.

I'm glad we have the "experts" here to judge emotions from helmets mabye there's a job in it somewhere who knows !

I don't think you can simple as that you can tell how fast the corner is being taken etc... and if you have ever been in a 4 point harness those things are tight as I could barely move...

More than 3, they just added 8 more for a total of 11 new videos plus a new Forza Progress Report.

You guys gotta see these videos in the higher res if your an Insider. The game looks astonishing.

"Visually, Forza Motorsport's cars may look rather simple, or even plain in screenshots, but you won't make the same mistake while seeing them in motion."

Looking at the new videos, one thing that really bugs me with Forza is exactly the same thing as ProjectGotham2... the lack of colour depth. Looking at the latest videos posted by CobraGT, GT4's colours look rich and plentifull, while Forza doesn't seem to care too much about it. Also the cars look rather fat and heavy... just a though.

I know what you mean about the cars, they look great, but something isn't right. Everything else, like the sound and the courses are beautiful. 👍

i dont understand how forza can be compared to gt4 lol... gt4 is more accurate than anything else at the end of the day. Xbox may be a stroner console but that doesnt mean its more njoyable, i got both so yeah at the end of the day its up to you :)

DriftF55, you obviously gave this alot of thought... It gets compared because both games are on rival companies consoles in the same genre. In terms of realism, until both are 100% finished, I don't think we can say which is more realistic (though the tyre simulation in forza may, and I said MAY so don't jump on me, tip the balance), but the way the cars move certainly looks more realistic in GT4 atm.

If theres anything wrong with the colours in forza, I would say they are too bright in some screenies, but I can't say it really looked like pgr2 when running.

I'm very impressed with the new video's at IGN for Forza there was a number of points I drew from the video's

Visuals

Visually it's impressive, the handling looks simulation the car's are understeering and oversteering as would be expected.
The car models are simily amazing the car's are so accurate even the door handles are modelled

Sound

The sounds we're amazing, the only thing that can compare to it is GTR and that's in another class but the engines sounded like there real life counterparts.

Presentation

While I was impressed with everything else the menu looks very much like GT it hints at GT quite alot, when you watch from the close up views of your car on the grid it's obviously very GT'ish.

Damage

While in the past i've raved about the damage from what i've seen it's a nice touch but i'm not sure it's enough I just hope to god it's in arcade mode :)

There is so much more to tell about the various modes and how it plays that it's a little staggering. Today we were able to see a surface level peak at many parts of the game, but not permitted (due to time) to delve into each part and explore. One thing for sure is this: Forza is smoking hot, and after this last visit, I have little doubt it's going to be one of the top racing games in any sim category on any system, and on Xbox itself, it'll no doubt be king of the hill. We'll have more on this one very in the next month
IGN
Visually, Forza Motorsport's cars may look rather simple, or even plain in screenshots, but you won't make the same mistake while seeing them in motion. Each car comprises 15,000 polygons, which is three times the polygon count of Polyphony's cars in GT4. They're smooth looking and sharply designed, according to each manufacturer's specs.

For people who have been judging Forza on the static screenshots, the 2nd hand videos have always looked impressive but these latest one's are simily amazing.

Also 3 times more polygons than GT4 per car :scared:

ign
Once again, Forza took me by surprise by the way it handled. Each new time I drive the game the tuning is tinkered with and adjusted. Before and at E3, pretty much any car I drove handled well with the assists on, but they all drove expertly with them off. Now, whether I drive the notoriously tough-to-handle Ferraris or the top-notch cornering Porsches, I need the assists on. Otherwise, I simply spin out.

Handling sounds impressive from IGN's encounters with the game it's nice to know the dev's are constantly updating and fine tuning for every show :)

👍 I saw one of the new ign vids, where they smashed up a 350z I think. Looked really damn good, seeing it slide side ways into a wall, and parts flying off and staying on track :D. Looks fun hehe

Poly count is meaningless when comparing gt4's models to forza's. Whichever models look more realistic has the better looking models imo.

I dunno cobra, Looking on those vids, some of those forza ones are as good as Gt4s, or so it seems. The reflections on it looked gorgeous too, but it was the fact that the cars didn't have a "tip angle" that made me the happiest though.

Regardless, poly count means more detail which "should" mean that Forza's models are more ACCURATE, GT uses painted on door handles and other things are just big textures.

If you were to ask me Forza's models are BETTER than GT4's take a close up of Forza Car and a GT4 Car Forza wins hands down :scared:

When both game's are released you "will" eat your words regarding graphics, just my opinion :)

Cobra, Front is right on this tbh, if you get right up close to GT care, you start too notice pixelisation, rough edges etc, while on the forza vids it zoomed RIGHT in, and smooth as...umm a sanded smooth thing.

Now I'm not saying forza is better or anything, I ain't played it, but that's the observation I've made from playing GT and seeing forza vids/ screenies.

Well this is the ps2 people. But notice I said, looks better. I wouldn't say forza's cars look as good as gt4's, to be honest, they dont look nearly as realistic as gt4's cars.

I don't want to scroll through hundreds of page to check if somebody already said this, so it might be double :
I wondered 2 years whether I should buy a PS2, a Gamecube or an X-box.
I tried to compare their performance, their price, to look at which games seemed more interesting...
I eventually bought a PS2 for a single reason :
- I know 20 persons who have a PS2,
- I know 2 persons who have a Gamecube (both of them also have a PS2)
- I know nobody who has an X-box

flat-out

This is relevent to Forza or GT4 how ?

And?

Isn't that more like 3 reasons ;)

I know 5 people who bought a mars bar, yet, I know nobody who bought a snickers bar, so I went along with the crowd and bought a mars bar, because I lack the mental capacity to make up my own mind... :dunce:
