and you can also change your tyres.

Soft Sport give the best results,
And no TCS or ASM seem to make you faster as well.

Do I have to qualify?

 Just kidding. I need to get the rust off the controler. Actually, I'm using the Logitec Driving Force now that it is bug free with GT4, so don't expect any decent times from me. I'm a n00b at this.

Submiting my time to ya Kent. 👍

Oh and Kent, I took the liberty of making a thread in the GT4 forum about the WRS. Should generate some traffic for ya! :sly:

Ive submitted my time but not sure if its decent or not because ive never done this sort of thing before so don't know the average times for this track etc. Anyway ive give it my best shot.

The Bimmer seems a really easy car to drive imo. I think its a good car to cruise around the tracks in without wrecking your tyres on the gravel pits or anything.

Great Car btw kent

if you dnt get a good time, do u not manage to get into a division or is division 3 for anyone who cnt get the time for division 2 ?

You must run under 1'00.000 to be able to race with us here at the WRS.

:P  Just kidding of course.

Kent usually picks times to seperate the people by I think.
For instance:
Under 1'00.000 would be Division 1
1'00.001 to 1'20.000 would be Division 2
1'20.001 and higher would be Division 3

Those are obviously fake times just to give you an example of how it works. Also the gaps between divisions are made up as well. It was just to show you basically how it used to work. It should be the same now (or close to it).

Time submitted ... nothing great but seems adequate! we shall see I suppose 👍

The divisions are created on times by everyone that submits. You will always be placed in a division no matter what your time.
This is so that you can be competitive against other drivers that are the same skill level that you are.
If you feel that you are Div 3, feel lucky, because Div 3 is one of the most highly competitive divisions where folks of begining skill levels are trying the hardest to improve.

You didn't get under 1'00.000 did you?

I look forward to chasing your tail-lights and eatin your dust again in GT4!

Mr. P, great to see ya mate. How's it hangin?

Got a lot of you bloody fools out here in Vail Colorado right now, but not a one of them can handle a wheel like you can. If my luck holds true, I won't be in the same division as you.

Great to see ya mate. Take good care. 👍

Well said!

I would also like to add that here in the GT community, "beginning skill levels" are generally very high. You can usually beet most of, if not all of, your local friends and family. You are not slow by any means, you just haven't quite yet mastered the game as some of the Div 1 "fasties" have. 👍

Hey tuff, will you let the creator of the series slip by this rule? :sly: Man my skills are lacking these days. :guilty:

Yes of course. Just don't tell anyone and we'll leave the back door open for ya. ;)
Just don't close it as I will most likely have to sneak in with ya!

Seems like the back door will be getting lots of traffic.
If anyone sees Ron trying to sneak through, make sure to close it on him. Maybe it will delay him getting to the grid and we can get a bit of a head start. :P

Had a go at it, managed a lap that's not too embarassing :) , but left 0.400 on the track :grumpy: . Was 0.300 ahead of my previous best at T1, behind by 0.100 at T2, and ahead 0.300 again at the line  I dunno if I'll be able to match that last sector again. I'm sick as a dog right now, so I think I'll hold off on submitting until I've had a go with a right mind ...

@boombexus great to see you back! welcome home ;)

I almost got my two seconds but I still think there's another .5 or so out there for me so I'll keep running. I'm starting to get the hang of the car now though, but the way it likes to understeer when you step on the gas is too painful.

Am I a new one? :P

Couple of questions ...

What's everyone using for the Top Speed setting, in Quick Tune. I just realized I've been running with it at whatever the default was, I totally forgot it was there.

What's the difference between a best lap save, and a ghost data save? As far as I can tell, the only difference is that you can't load a best lap save as a ghost. Do we need to keep both for verification? Or just the ghost lap one?

even tho ive submitted my time i thought id have another go at it and i was a whole 7 seconds faster than my submitted time. im so unlucky

You might not be running the correct car. Only race cars have the top speed adjustment, at least in my NTSC-J version. Is it different for the NTSC and PAL copies?

Ar eyou sure you have the BMW M3 '04, not the BMW M3 GT-R Race car?

the BMW M3 cant have top speed adjusted.

I just saved the ghost replay, it has all the data needed to verify a lap.

Blackbird you are a new face, a new face to the WRS front anywho :)

This is too sweet..a 2004 Mystic Blue M3....Sears Point Raceway Sports Car course..... :D  :dopey: 👍:cool::cheers: btw welcome back Kent! --- Randy

The ghost replay is the only one that needs to be saved, I think the other one saves the entire session.

Ok, I got down to a time I'm reasonably happy with, beat my target time by .002 seconds, so that's enough for me, whatever div I get with this time I'll be happy.

Submitted my time, looking forward to the new Series.... 👍 I hope to be able to commit a couple of hours to it every week... which is pretty much the bare minimum you need in order to keep up with the regulars around here! 👍

gunna have a go when i finish formula GT tonight. Played gran turismo since gt 2 and i wouldn't say i was a bad driver but some of you guys seem in a different world lol. oh well worth a try.
