Larson0I picked up a copy of GT4 today and when i stuck it in my playstation it just sits at the browser/system configuration screen. i took it back and exchanged it and sure enough it happened again.
Model No. is SCPH-39001/N
anyone else having this problem / know how to fix it? i shouldnt have to spend money to fix this because they didnt do it right.
*EDIT* I fixed my problem. i had to follow this link http://www.classicplastic.net/dvgi/eventsfeaturesIMPORTPS2cleaning.htm
and clean my lense. works fine now 👍
i quote myself 0_oShuujuku ringowell *pulls out list of ps2 combos and secrets*
insert the game like normal and start on the screen where it says browser and system configuration press triangle on that screen go onto playstation driver and press triangle change disc speed to fast and texture mapping to smooth than go back to the menu with playstation driver(by pressing circle) and go onto console and turn diagnosis on than go back to the browser screen and press x on browser it should read the disc ofcourse another way is to restart alot but that is time consuming but it may work if not you may have to take your ps2 apart
Keitaro333Oy guys... i have kinda unusual GT4 loading probem O_o
i have normal fat PAL PS2 SCPH-50004 so its not too old (bought it around 9/2004), its modded with SNIPER 2 and plays all games pretty good...
When i try to run GT4... it loads - shows Playstation2 logo, shows first screen with disclaimer about car manufacturers etc., Dualshock2 red LED lightens up and then it freezes like that....... im supposing there should be a screen with language selection but it just stays black.....
anyone have an idea?
code_kevHow is modding a console "lame". How is importing games "lame". Meh, modding consoles makes em better.
Because a crap game is crap regardless of price XD.WTF they got it for free, why complain?
code_kevThank you for the brief lesson in "obvious law".

Quick_NickI'm sorry to read about your bad news. My friend has the same problem with GTA:VC. The early PS2s have trouble with new games sometimes. The only solution that I have is getting a new PS2.
