I knocked off some more

T1 - 22.949
T2 - 47.440

The ending could have been a slight bit better but I don't know where else to gain speed! And this is only wednesday night (technically thursday morning)
 
Right, after much leg-aching I had my mechanics rig a traction control unit to this ol' beast, so here are the results of my latest run:

T1 - 0'23.001
T2 - 0'47.753

I still maintain the car is faster without TCS, but the margin for error is significantly reduced, so I guess it's a tradeoff.
 
This famed wing car is alot of fun around Infineon, a little too much fun as I just yelled like a cowboy after T2 on my fastest lap.

At first I wanted to do this week with the TCS off, but I couldn't stop the weels from spinning!
My Ts with the TCS off are
T1 23.371
T2 49.306

After turning the TCS on I got alot faster!
New Ts
T1 22.910
T2 47.397
T2 to T3 is slow as I slowed down to 80 mph for the right hand sleeper( stupid, stupid, stupid) after being a cowboy.

ok, i had another go at it tonight and i bet my time again by .15,

T1 22.651
T2 46.619

more tips:

use gear 4 for the sbend chickane b4 T1, u get better drive out of the corner. best T1 split was 22.489 after i tried this tactic.
another tip- avoid curb hopping at all costs on the slow corners, ie. the two right hand corners after T1, the TCS kicks in and u get bogged down too much. thats all the tips i have so far. but i will play some more on weekend and see if i can improve it anymore.
 
Took a more serious crack at it tonight and got a 23.019 / 47.228 in the bag. Not too impressive, but I made some progress at least.:)

Oh and btw, does anyone know if that stupid rear spoiler actually creates any downforce? or is it just an extra feature to make americans want it. Kinda like the doors on the Toyota Sera.

Technically, all cars generate some degree of downforce(Either GT2 or GT3 actually used that concept with allowing you to alter rear downforce if the car had a spoiler, I think...) Since the 'bird has the same specs as the Daytona Charger and the Daytona Charger was meant to be a race car, then I would say yes. However you could also say no since the 'bird was more of the street car than the race car.
 
I´ve did my first run yesterday, got an average time, well, with more trainning i will surely down this. I could down some 0.6 tho.

T1 - 22.811
T2 - 47.316
 
Man its only 8:30 am here and I have to wait 'til 5:30 pm before I can try any of your tips hollo1, but they would help as I have just benn 'Wingin' it' thus far.

FYI a strange thing hapened to me yesterday, I was on my way to my wednesday night bowling league when in the oncoming lane next to me was a Plymouth Superbird! No Kidding! I had never seen one in real life and now in the little town of Salem, OR there it was! Wow! And to relly make things weird, it was yellow and out of all those colors we could choose from for this week, ya, I chose YELLOW.....hhmm.......its an omen boyz...lets get it on!

I'm pretty happy with the times I ran. I still feel I can improve by at least a second on my final.

T1 0:23.120 <------------- almost breaking 23 :D

The T1's posted by Holl01 and h0t are really incredible. I can get consistent 22.9's but every time I see a 22.6 or 7, I'm off in the grass on the left of uphill S. :ouch: A T1 in the 22.4 range is simply stunning!
I have been using 4th gear for the T1 S also. Slight touch of brake before entering, hit left rumble agressively, then aim for mid point of right rumble without scrubbing too much speed off. I was touching brake half way thru the S, but now am just lifting and exiting at around 71-73 MPH. Everytime I try to exit at a higher speed, I go way wide and lose momentum going downhill into next right hander.
Oh, one other way I picked up a tenth or so was by swinging wide on the last hairpin when I start a fresh session. You get a slightly longer run at the straight and this gives about 1-2 MPH more at the line to start the lap. This technique does not work for finishing the lap.

Not sure I'll get any more time to run laps in this one. Seems like the only time I've had to run the WRS was when I ran the Qualifier. Ah well...

I've seen T1s below 22.8, but have been unable to complete the laps cleanly.

Thanks for the write-ups everyone. Staying off the rumble strips to eliminate or lessen the effect of TCS is a great tip. Thanks to Hol, or Hot.. I am not sure which.

Maybe I'll get the time tonight to run a bit more.

I gotta finish this race since I didnt take part in the last event but it's just such a horrible car IMO. It seems that I have brought a bad spell upon the WRS since I joined because other than the Speed 8 at LeMans, the other events have just been terrible for me. Please do something with a NSX/Supra race car at Suzuka or something next time.

I've been expecting an OLR race on this track for 3 months, got half a dozen races on the 'SP'ort cars version instead, and here it comes... now that my PS2 doesn't read a disc anymore... :ouch:
I just have to find 160 euros by monday :dunce:

Have you tried stripping the case off it and manually cleaning the lens?

A cotton bud soaked in lighter fluid worked on my old-style ps2, had written it off and bought a slim-line, then just gave it a try last week- bingo!! Worked first time and now reads everything again.

It's worth a try, you can't be any worse off! And,you never know it could save you 160 euro's

Getting better but I need to speed up in T1 and T2 a good bit in order to get a top ten this week. Everyone is soo fast!

Ill try to get some more runs in soon.

Isn't this what you said last week while posting a split a full second ahead of anyone else in D3?

You can talk in terms of "in order to get on the podium" you know ... it would be slightly more realistic.
 
Podium will be mine!!!! :D

(I'm that bad a driver that i have been demoted to cleaning up and moving the podiums on a tuesday afternoons) :P
