If you are referring to me,,what I said, i was just playing with the two of you...just having fun thats all!:)

I didnt REALLY mean to imply that you would not be playing fair.

Well, personally, I'm not playing fair. Like with the extra weight from the picnic hamper, Mike's Hard Lemonade bottles, cooler and our CD collection, I'm finding it extra difficult to stop ... so I hope you guys won't mind if I use the car in front to help me slow down.

*swigs from the bottle while changing CD and rummaging for her "WHAMS! Greatest Hits", keeping less than half an eye on the car she's using as a rolling stop*

30's? Like physically, right? 'Cos my head stuck in my early twenties.

May I ask a friendly question.

Would it be possible that the chit chat talk can be held in the Chit Chat thread?

I can help you with that extra weight problem there..could use some lemonade!

now,more on topic..:sly:

Has anyone Tried NOT using the TCS?
I tried it,only set it on 2,and it seemed to help a little with the wheelspin out of the hairpin(we all know which one Im talking about, right?)

auto gear 4, Brake balance 4/4 everything else left as is

just had a .012 improvement~

old time | t1 - 0'24.365 | t2 - 1'04.569
new time | t1 - 0'24.479 | t2 - 1'04.598

Z's settings were no good for me ... I was consistently a second or 2 slower at the line, even though the car seemed easier to handle (maybe it was easier, because it was slower?) I may try the same settings, but tinkering with the gears ... I really wasn't too happy with these.

hollo's settings had me .1 faster at T2, but it's perhaps just a *little* too loose for my tastes and I'm not sure where I'd go with them, which suggests that I'd be pretty much maxing out with a less than adequate time.

My settings are much tighter and I'm going to try tweaking them a little to get a little less understeer. Overall, though, there's something wrong with my line ... or perhaps I'm just not being consistent enough ... I feel like I could gain .5 or .6 just by driving better, but recently I really seem to suck.

My settings seem very stable, but I know there's room for improvement with them.

I've tried using everyone else's transmission setups, but mine works best for me, simple as it is. 4.1 Final Drive, auto set to 8...the gears SEEM wide but the power band is very efficient else I'd be able to go faster or maybe I'm missing something. :P Besides, the wider set up reduces tire spin to a degree in the tight corners here. Dunno what anyone else thinks about gears and or my setup. *Shrugs*

*dances* But right now I'm at the top of my division in t2!! not that that means I have the best lap time...

WHat does the final gear do? I was running at auto 9 for the longest time, but with no other setting (like final gear).

T1: 25.103
T2: 1'06.987

I'm not posting these because they are particularly good, but they were obtained thusly:

Climb out of car with roll-cage
Go to show room and replace car with a brand new one.
Decline optional "roll cage".
Set gears.
Take .2 off on first lap out ... no other settings.

The rollcage is a killer.

the Final gear keeps your other ratios the same, but makes them either collectively wider or narrower. It's more for finer adjustments but you can use it for larger adjustments too. :P Or the "tranny trick" of course. lol

This combo took me from 800,000Cr. to 47,XXXCr. :grumpy:

T1: 25.906
T2: 1'06.801

Losing time on T2 somewhere ... think it's partially the fast lefthander right after the chicane ... having trouble there.

Settings are without rollcage, stock save for auto gears 4, lowered ride height (55/60) and reduced LSD across the board. I can get .3 more at the line, but I'm more bothered about my weak T2.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Just managed to take 1.149 secs off my T2

T1 25.149
T2 1,06.252!!!

Managed, finally to dial out the power-understeer without buying yet another replacement car!

Well chuffed is me!

Will post settings in a bit, having enough trouble with the adrenalin at min to concentrate!

Neil

Good one BTtW :) I look forward to seeing the settings :)

Currently:
T1: 24.959
T2: 1'06.766

There's an easy .2-.3 to be had here with the same settings (added front camber of 3.2), but the section just before the tunnel is coming to me now ... beginning to get a good line and speed through there.

Hmm. I don't feel so slow anymore. Although you are killing my T2.....

T1: 24.940
T2: 1'06.681

I should consolidate these, really, but I need to walk away from the PS2 and stretch my legs ... and back ... a little :P

Softened the springs a little ... still an easy .3 to be had at T2 ... I was slow coming out of the Chicane, although I nailed the fast lefthander that follows it. .1 improvement at T2, but .3 at the final, so definitively moving in the right direction.

I used holl01's settings and the car seems better now. Think I'll tweak the suspension somewhat further but the low LSD settings are good. I still have yet to buy a non-caged car as well...

Only ran a few laps at lunch so no improvement yet...

What I'd like to know is if you can set up the car somehow to drop throttle oversteer better. On the track in my RL car, I can dive hot into a corner (or be steady state cornering) and modulate my throttle OFF (FWD car) to get the back to rotate. I'd like that ability in the game. Anyone got their Honda dancing like this?

Maybe the cage delete will enhance this behavior...

Later!

Cheers guys and gals

Having a celebratory Stella right now, straight out of the mini-fridge next to comp!

The car now slightly oversteers /drifts around the slower corners, power-slides perfectly round the fast one's!

All totally predictable!

I can even ride the rumbles in the Neuvel chicane, without losing speed or line, and with no wheelspin after it!

Well here they are, for what they are worth

Brakes 4/4
Springs 9.6/10.4
Ride h 65/75
Damp b 5/6
Damp r 3/5
camb 3.3/1.7
toe 0/0
stab 5/5

Tranny auto 7 with 4.950 final
downforce 25/30
LSD 10/15/25
driving aids 0/0/1

Softer springs and dampers, lower but offset ride height, more camber!

Oh and this is with a stiffened car!

This is very very similar to what I've been using and I find the behavior to be totally sweet. 👍

EDIT: I've been thinking about why and I figure it's because the rollcage stiffens the chassis to the point that super-stiff springs and shocks only make the car a brick to handle.

Everyday I gain two tenths of a seconds over my final lap time.
But today nothing. I have been practising for god knows how long. My fingers hurt, my shoulders are sore and my back aches due to sitting in a bad posture, but still nothing. I am slow as a Minardi.

I thought this will be fun. But it's the one of the most depressing things I have ever done. I fell so third class. I am off to watching Fairly odd parents now. That always cheers me up.

Finally finished work for the week, now it's time for the WRS.

I don't expect any miracles this week as I've never been good at the tight, twisty tracks.
