Just a quick sugg, practice the license test (sorry I can't tellyou which one as I"m at work and have no ps2 :indiff: ) but that way you will definately know your driving line and get used to driving 'clean' laps. Thats what I'm gonna do especially since I have 2 weeks to do this one.

Looks like AI -10 will give you about 6 clear laps (at my slow speed anyway). Tried pitting in at that point but stuffed the entry. Actually I stuffed the car in to the entry wall :guilty:

Found why I wasn't seeing the T2 point - I'm too busy concentrating on the fast left.

T1 - still between 49 - 51 sec
T2 - around the 1'31 mark

hi i was wondering can we submit our times up to the last sector of the 10th lap or can we only put our sector times for the 1st lap ??

my favorite driver is MONTOYA, and i think my driving style replicates his

I hope that doesn't extend to jumping red lights and trying to overtake under the safety car! :dopey: ;)

Seriously though, this one is going to be an absolute bastard - I can't drive this track for toffee. :dunce:

who's this clown? he says the z-tune is the nicest car in the world and what does he have in his avatar? A NSX.

This is gonna be sick. Awesome car, awesome track, and a race too! 10 clean is gonna be tough though for sure. Good thing we have 2 weeks! Nice CFM! What happens if an AI car hits you though.....

I was dreaming of Laguna Seca or Suzuka...my wish has been granted.

You better bring your A-game this week, son. I can drive Suzuka in my sleep with pretty much any car, and you of all people know that I can!

And then CFM goes and gives us my baby, the Pitwork Z. Oh man I am

This is the beginning of the end.

That about says it.

I wonder, how does our Division 1 driver "Z" feel about this particular car?

See my first statement. Actually, to go a bit more in detail, this license test gave me the most trouble when I was trying to get all 80 golded. The esses just kill me every time, or I push wide on a sweeper. That said, I think it's time I revisit that test and get warmed up there. I'll worry about tires and everything else once I can find the line. :sigh:

I do love the car, though, so at least there's something.. ?

Good luck to everyone this week.

After some start/stop testing it looks like AI -6 will be the go for me. I can beat it to the first corner and still move left to get a good line. I shouldn't encounter the rest of the field until the very closing stages if I make 1 pit stop for tyres (Bridgestones of course).

Still trying to get the right Top Speed setting though. 310 seems pretty good for the straights but 330/340 gives better shifts through the S-curves.

I have two questions
1 :
r34jse
hi i was wondering can we submit our times up to the last sector of the 10th lap or can we only put our sector times for the 1st lap ??

2. Are the "non-team" racers able to qualify to the BC5 too?

I kinda like my current setup, TCS on, medium fronts, hard rears. Fronts wear just a TAD faster, and with my aggressive, tire hating driving style, they would last just over 5 laps(6 could probably be done before they get red, we'll see), so I'd pit at the end of the fifth lap and that'd work out good for the 10 lap race... For me. I'm just going to go and do a race so I have a number that I can put down at the end of the two weeks if I don't get to do many more laps.

My question is... Is the car faster if we don't put more gas in it?

WHOA!!!! 10 LAPS!!!! :scared:

That's cool. A real race in the WRS. Getting a good 10 laps is going to be hard. Good luck to everyone that tries it.

I walk into a Nissan dealership and is greeted by a young fellow.

"How can I help you?" he says.

I point outside at the Kolyana Special S2000, "I want to trade that in for something nice, fast and sleek."

"That's a nice ride. Why do you want to trade it in?" he says while picking up his chin off the floor.

I reply, "My race coordinator CFM doesn't want us using it for this week's race at Suzuka. He said I may be able to get a Motul Pitwork Z here. Do you have one?"

The young kid start laughing. I ask, "What's so funny?"

"They have loaner cars there. You don't need to buy one." By this point, he's turned red in the face and ribs are hurting.

:dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

RACE ON!!!!

Opening: 1'55.216
Best: 1'51.018

Getting the line a little faster than I thought. Watched a little on-board F1 video I found floating around the internet: http://www.actaeonlf.com/f1video/Suzuka2004.wmv

It is 6MB in size for anyone interested.

Launching in second gear will get you a great line for turn 1.

Edit: AI -6, 320km/h, TCS, Racing Hard

which tyres driving aids, tops speed settings and a-I levels are you guys using?? i just cant get a good balance

Man, doesn't anyone have an actual job 'round these parts?!?! Or are y'all on summer break? I wish I could start NOW, but I can't......and let's see here Curtis got a 1:50 and is running about 1:54 (SKILLZ!) so given my exact approximations....uh huh...yes....carry the 4.....there! I'll be running about 1:58.xxx, but time will tell.

Sounds like an interesting race 👍

I will give this a try as soon as possible...
I already know the hard part will be finding the correct balance :indiff: :D

The Wizard.

What's everyone's best single lap time so far? This used to be my best track but I just cant get in clean laps consistently. Thanks for the settings Z. I'll give them a try tomorrow since im too tired to now lol.
at the moment i've got the AI level set to -6 to keep em out of the way but they're still right up my ass at the first corner. And let me tell you something, i'm NOT gay so this can be quite alarming.
wurghh, sorry, started to drift off a bit there. Anyway, good luck.

EDIT: oh, btw my best single lap time so far is a 1'51.xxx. It needs a hell of a lot of improving though. I think it was my first clean lap out of the 10 i've done so far lol.

4 full races done
Best opening 1.55.1~
Edit: best lap 1.51.046
Racing medium, AI-10, (will try other later), TCS ASM - none, max speed default
Off to bed.

vtec, haha, nice one, lol.

So yeah, like I said, running Med fronts, hard rears, now 300 gearing lets me stay in fourth through the esses when I'm going fast, and hits perfectly at the end of the straight if I'm going fast. TCS on, AI I was just running at +5, but I couldn't get a clean line for the first turn with them that fast. And yeah, launch it in second. I don't know about the different settings and launching in second, but for 300 and 310 gearing it's definitely faster.

Now, I decided I'm not going to do a full race right now... Lol, taking too long because of offs. I don't feel like it right now, gotta do some other stuff...

Good luck everyone!

Oh, T times, T1 hit a 49.7xx, T2 hit a 1'29.xxx I think. Something around there.

You mean two weeks, right?:sly:

If some div.3 drivers are having trouble wth 10 clean laps I might adjust the rules a bit for that as well. We'll just have to see how it goes. I don't want to torture anybody unnecssarily. I'd advise running some free run laps at first to get some lines down and get a feel for the race in general before diving right into a 10 lapper. This will be quite a challenge for everybody, so just concentrate on getting a clean run in at first before pushing too hard and getting frustrated. BC races are real ball busters, so this is a pretty good example of what you might come across in BC5.

💡 maybe you could try using the division level as a setting for difficulty level??
D3: -10
D2: 0
D1: +10

still keep the rule of clean laps, but that might balance us out a little???

This is just perfect for my D1 debut...I suck at Suzuka, especially around those esses. :guilty:

Current setup after 5 attempts:

AI: -6
Top Speed: 330km
Tires: RH/RH

Best 1st lap: 1'57.470
Best lap: 1'50.959

I guess nobody will be pitting ?
I used hard on rear / medium on front for my first race and pitted after 5 laps (when the tires are yellow). But then I saw that AI was pitting at the end of lap 9.
So the super hard tires probably go all the way long.

I wanted a saved safety race so that I can run faster and unworried in the next attempts, and had a best lap at 1'53.880.
Unfortunately :
- Car #2 hit my back when I passed it on lap 8
- I have exactly 0 kb free on the mem card

Here goes the saved safety race. :(

I'll run it again on super hards and have some old saves removed first.

Just submit one set of T-times that you are getting on your fastest lap in the race if you want to compare.

Anyone can try out for team GTP, even if they are not registered for the WRS. It doesn't matter if you are running in the 2 man teams event or nort, everyone is welcome to tryout for GTP's BC5 team.

I want the AI cars to be as little a factor as possible, so I won't force anyone to use a difficulty setting that they don't want to.

For those with a 320km top speed, launch in 3rd and it'll probably save you a couple tenths. With an AI of -6 I was able to pass all 5 where the "pit exit lane" widens up.

Meanwhile, new best first lap: 1'54.810

I don't like that whole setup. I'm actually running the race at +5 and I'm D3. I do want SOME competition and challenge with this race without having to worry about everyone in the WRS

:nervous: Hope this doesn't start another argument.

Hopefully we'll be able to go a week, or two :scared: , without any conflicts. Rember, this week and next, take out all your anger on the AI drivers, not your fellow WRS drivers ^_^!

This race is really fun. The arcade mode is nice b/cI dont have to buy a whole new car.

Did a T1- 50.012 and a 1:52.272 lap.

Whoever recommended using medium tires on the fronts , that was great advice.
