Hi all

Just a quick note before I take a break from GT4 for the weekend.

Using RS front and RM rear combination, my fastest lap was 1'48.960. Still looking for a good way to deal with the AI. They get in my way after the pit stop on lap 5. I have to over take them individually and I make contack everytime.

Just a follow up, Smaug ... I put on this tire combo and immediately got down to 1'50.003 for a lap ... not brilliant and a second off where I'd like it, but I found the car a lot more responsive in those turns. If I can make just one pitstop with these, I think I'll be a happy camper

It's possible to finish the race with one pitstop using this combo. You just loose about 4 seconds on lap 5 and 10. Better than pitting for the second time.

Hm .. strange ... I pitted on lap 5 and really had no problems at that stage ... but on lap 10 my tires were SHOT (the front ones) ... I couldn't steer or brake worth a damn. Why would they wear out more quickly between laps 6-10?

I'm guessing you had to start overtaking the AI cars. The extra time spent off the racing line and having to drag the car back on line ruins the tyres quickly.

well i'm trying my best for poor puck927, but its not looking good at all!!!
you lot are leaving me standing by at least 10 seconds.
i'm pleased i've cut my own time by 10 seconds, but i still doubt it will be enough with a little over 10 days to go to submission......
again i apologise jay.
the day you see a lap time up here from me during this particular race, i will probably be lying!!!! 💡

Remind me of that when I steal the racing tires and sell them before I sell the Z for scrap metal.

I did 9 perfectly clean laps, then I got one back tire in the grass and the car went up into the wall, then swung back down straight acrossed the track and by the time it stopped, I was about 100m from where I wrecked.

i dont feel that the tyres are my friends! to get any grip i have no choice but to use mediums and with my crappy racing skills they're wearing out after only a few laps. not that that matters really, cos i cant stay on the blooming track without crawling round with a 2minute lap!!!!

Try medium on the front and hard on the rear and you will last for 5 laps for sure.

I think that is the best strategy for sure, but maybe if you ran a super soft tires until you had to pit probably lap 3 or 4 then run harder tires to finish?

I doubt you would last even 3 laps.

One guy tried it and said his were burnt by the end of lap 2.

They won't last any longer with another combo...

I'm running medium front and soft rears!

The fronts are yellow at end of 5th lap, and the rears are orange. But get great 'throttle-steering', the car seems to turn better on the power!

Now doing 1,52.??? opening laps, and entering the pits at end of 5th lap- 9,19's!

Just wish the pit entrance was easier to take at normal speeds

finally finished my first full race, really happy with it. PIT at the end of lap 4 and was good to the end. AI got in my way a couple times, but NO CONTACT~

I gotta vent for a second. CFM dont get mad, but I think this not touching the AI thing sucks. I just finished the 5th race in a row where I catch the AI on the last lap and barely bump one and my time is no longer valid. GRRRRR!!!!!!

lovef1 ... it *CAN* be done ... I've managed it 3 times now ... it's all about *WHEN* you pass them ... if you find that you're being held up because you can't pass safely, play with their tires and AI settings to see if you can get them at different points on the track.

Rear: Soft
TCS on
Top speed 300

That sounds like me... I've yet to succesfully enter the pits. I did it once on accident. that was the same race I had my "Lap 9 'incident'"....

Well Kolyana I did it. Did a good time and only had to pass 1 car. I set the AI on +5 - I was about to pass the 6th place car it pitted, then I was able to pass the 5th place guy on a wide open place. So it was nice when it was finally over and I could sigh some relief.

My best lap is a 1:49.xx

Using softs on front
Mediums on rear, pit lap 5.

Good one Lovef1 ... I may try that difficulty setting myself ... I raced on -10, which was fine and everything, but when I did run into the tail markers it was in awkward places, so I lost time to them.

Question regarding your soft's on front ... you managed to run for 2x5 laps like that? Man, when I did it they were BALD by the tenth lap and I had no cornering or braking ability :/

I know its the same for everyone but somehow I can't finish a race without making contact with an AI. I am happy with my fastest lap time but I can't find a way around those pesky cars.

I'll try lovef1's difficulty setting of +5 and see how it goes.

Ugh, this is worse than anything I have encountered in the 4 months I've been playing GT4.

On the hairpin on lap 8, I saw a RSC rally car and a Peugeot battling out so I moved over to the far left to avoid their retarded drivers. But somehow these idiots still managed to slam into the right side of my car and F the whole race up. .
