Calm down :P

I heard you the first time, and you'll notice the leaderboard for last week doesn't have you listed as a DS2 driver anymore, it has your controller listed as unknown ("?").

Changing your controller is more complicated than just re-typing it, it involves modifiying the programming for the leaderboard, and to be honest, I'm not that inclined to include every controller/wheel/joystick ever made. There are (or were) a few people who played with a DF (the one before the DFP), or a Momo, etc. and I've always just listed them as an unknown as well.

For future reference, it's not the most polite to yell (bold, red, all-caps) at someone who is providing you with a free service, which you expect to continue.

Sorry man, I wasnt angry, it's just I asked before and got no feedback so I though bold and red caps would catch your attention. I didn't mean to upset you. I'm very grateful for the service you provide, I use it all the time to get a rough idea of how close I am to my target position, and you do a good job of it. I just didnt understand the whole controller thing.
Sorry again man.

I'll give this combo another run tomorrow after I get this Roadster $hr jibber jabber out of the way.

hey, sorry to go off topic, but I have a hell of a lot of time on my hands over the next couple of months and i'm looking for another racing series to invest some of it in. Could anyone point me to a touring car series?

Check out the long and short race series. There's a couple new series going on.

I thought the rules stated that two tires had to be on or directly above the track at all times.
CFM said nothing about 2 wheels staying on the track so I guess it's ok

Saw this and was like holy crap... been a while.

I am so going to do it this week.

I own this track like no other. Don't know as of yet, but I like this car.

I hope I get time to do it!

Dont forget DRIVEN, the rules state, that two wheels must be touching the track at all times.

Very important that.

Now then, lets go have a go at this race......

Nice choice Cryogenically Frozen Mutant 👍

I'll see you lot tomorrow with some T's i hope.

:irked:👍
LOL

Congrats, vexd, you managed to confuse quite few people here. ;)

So much for sarcasm...

Just finished up a 2 hour session. It's the first time in a long time since i've been able to play 2 hours straight and on the first day of a new race! There was an initial 30-45 minute period where i could do nothing but run lap times within .5 seconds of each other and probably a total of 1 hour or more spent giving walls love taps and restarting laps. Thankfully i persevered and was rewarded by taking off huge chunks of time near the end of my session. Don't get frustrated just because your spending more than a hour not improving and tapping walls, you WILL make a break-through!

My T times to date:
T1: 0'41.141 (Can run 41.1's all day, dont see how i can improve here)
T2: 1'07.381 (Little slower, probably can take off a few tenths here)
T3: 1'41.265

A couple of tips: For the jump, shift into 4th BEFORE you leave the ground. That's 1 tenth right there.
I hug the inside of the turns for the first 4 turns, then the next left leading onto the high speed section i aim for a late apex. Same for the left turn after the high speed section, a late apex is best here i think.
For the hairpin with the kink right before it, i brake right as i get to the kink down to 2nd in a straight line, aiming for the inside of the corner. Make sure the car is already directed towards the inside of the hairpin before you brake or else you'll lose control. I found hugging the very inside of this turn at ~45km/h to work best.
For the tricky right corner before the final 2 hairpins, aim for a very late apex once again. Brake well into the shadow of the building down to about 50km/h and it'll look like you missed the corner completely but from there you should be able to apply full throttle until the 2 final hairpins while making the late apex.
For the final 2 hairpins, I found taking them both in 2nd gear to work best. Just try not to drop too far below 30km/h (I think with the right line the first of the final hairpins can be taken at 35km/h+ and the second 30+).

Hope this helps.

We have a winner, this is correct. Two wheels on or directly above the track at all times. So jump it all you want. Funny how nobody asked about this last week...

So we're sticking with 2 and not at least 2...? ;)

Well, I've put in about 10 laps now (first 5 were horrible). But the last 4 laps I've taken more than 4 seconds off my initial best time. Splits are as follows:

T1: 41.897 (can pick up another .5)
T2: 1:08.7XX (I lose too much time here)
T3: 1:44.341 (another bad sector)

The last sector is going well for me. I took off both driving aids and have done amazingly better.

I've actually gotten to drive one of the these, they're pretty fun in real life, too bad they seem so slow in the game compared to all the other great cars available. Going to run some laps now, don't think I've ever driven it, gonna have to learn the track:nervous:....

Final hour sesion for me today. Wow 3 hours of GT4 in 1 day! Can't remember the last time that happened. Made a .4 improvement in my lap time and i think that's about my limit unless i find a new way of going through T1.

New T times:
T1: 0'41.039
T2: 1'07.078
T3: 1'40.908

Edit: As much as i like an orange name on your leaderboard Luxy, i've been D1 for quite a while now :)

1st 30 min session~
0'41.200 ( slow )
1'07.142 ( slow )
1'40.945

2nd 15 min session~

1'06.655
1'40.756 screwed up the hairpin b4 t3

1'06.906 ( lost .3 )
1'40.419

0'40.708
1'06.906 ( lost .3 )
1'40.419

Damn that's low. Nice work, I can probably match that T2, I know where I messed up there, but that T3 is gonna be tough to catch. After my first 20 laps...

T1-41.692
T2-1:08.037
T3-1:43.219:yuck:

I have no clue what I'm doing in T2-T3, hopefully that'll change some this week...

Dusting off the ol' DFP after 3 laps I've gotten:

T1: 44.466
T2: 1'12.578
T3: 1'49.699

Hey Luxy, I am division 2, just so you know.

Really slow start here. Driving in the middle of the road. Sure wish I could drive with a DS2. Looks like it's gonna be pretzel arms for me :)

Maybe 10 laps into it:

45.574
115.050
154.247

T1 - 41.936
T2 - 1'08.601
T3 - 1'43.443

Div 1 / DFP

12 laps...nice little combo, though whenever I run anything other than a Lotus Elan, Mazda Miata or Lotus Elise at Costa I feel funny. The circuit is made for tiny lightweight rear-wheel driver cars. This VW isn't bad (never driven this car before) but a Lotus Elan or (even) Ruf CTR2/N1 tires are better on this circuit.

That being said this was fun, I hope to get another session (or two) and chop some time off this starting point.

T1 - :41.538 -->My Goal for this week is 41.2 or less
T2 - 1:07.838--> 1.07.4 or less
T3 - 1:43.096--> 1:42.5 or less....we'll see tho!

I'm done for the night I wanna watch Mil $$ Baby!

great one CFM but it should have been a honda FF car!!! :)
I f-ing love this circuit though.

This is definitely a car where grippy front hard rear tires will own.

Last run for the day and made up 1 sec total. Not bad, but I still need to learn the course...

T1: 41.742
T2: 1'08.287
T3: 1'42.976
