I'm goin all Manual and DS2 this week, particularly after seeing holl01's replay (damn!!!) after a few laps I've got these splits:

T1: 0'41.934
T2: 1'07.985
T3: 1'43.574

They're pretty crappy but all I got for now. I did hit T1 in 0'41.070 once and I think I can get under 0'41.5xx fairly consistently...love this track 👍

After about 10 minutes of pulling some pretty insane slides on sports hard tyres, I have come to a few conclusions...

-Walls are HARD!
-Pulling extreme 4 wheel drifts pretty much loses all speed you have/ or runs you into walls....
-I'm so physically slow, I can mentally see myself speeding off into the distence...My car appears to be blue
-I'm crap....

And what's the deal with all these corners....The Casio track guide is going to take me hours....But I think my rule on mountains still apply...

I feel like I doing pretty good. Still trying to figure out the hairpins................all of them. :D

T1 0:41.937
T2 1:08.577
T3 1:44.313

stay tuned........

New splits, and I also split my DS2...stupid piece of 🤬 the damn analog sticks are permanently in various directions, I don't know if I'm good enough with my wheel to try it for this track yet...may have to go and get a new DS2 (damn that ticks me off...you can't turn off analog steering altogether either...it has to be left or right?!?)

MisterWeary, Div 2, DS2" (For now!)
T1: 0'41.534
T2: 1'07.772
T3: 1'43.028

I gave it a go and realized why I think all FF platforms should be obsolete.

T1 - 0'41.736
T2 - 1'08.672
T3 - 1'43.465

Really enjoy the combo.. inspired me to go buy an R32 in GT mode to play with later on. Would be a fun little car with some more grunt. 👍

T1: 41.173
T2: 1'07.214
T3: 1'42.165

Saw 1'41.7 once, then tanked it taking the final hairpin wide. Stopped dead in my tracks. :indiff:

erm, i thought i had some good splits after only 35 mins, but it appears im wrong, and we're only on day 2 of the week!

blummin heck.

anyway.

T1: 41.338
T2: 1'07.784
T3: 1'42.608

I dont see how im gonna improve a vast amount, but i can see a few tenths here and there.

What i would like to do is a quick run-thru, and if Holl or Hot could point out my faults, or even you, Z, as you seem to be thrashing me regularly....

Hold the car in 2nd till 57 mph, 3rd till 81, and 4th till 110 at least, down the straight.
Brake in line with the V shaped steps on the right, and down to 2nd, hug the wall, then stay in 3rd over the crest, still in 3rd till 80 mph, i find it faster than changing to 4th early... down to 2nd for the left, hug the wall....
Up to 3rd, possibly grab 4th then back to 2nd for the right, hug the wall, lifting off and re-applying the throttle to gain traction round the corner.
back up to 4th as you hit the second jump, still steering left slightly, slam on the brakes as you hit the ground, and down to 2nd for the left, hug the wall.
up to 3rd, and steer parallel with the right hand wall, staying close to the wall as it gets tighter and tighter. As you begin to slide out to the outside wall, brake ever so slightly, and then re-apply the throttle to get the perfect line back into the turn, and accelerate all the way out of it.
Here's my problem i think.
into 4th at 81mph, and alongside the tree into the left kink i dab the brake to get position for the right sweeper, where i have to dab again, just to smoothly make it round, but i see many different speeds when i come out of here, so i think its an area for improvement.
flat to the long right.
As i approach, i hit 3rd, and slide round, perfectly parallel with the wall, and when i get to the first red sign, i back off, and immediately re-apply the throttle, accelerating all the way out. I have tried kicking 4th in, instead of backing off, and this worx, but im not sure which is faster.
Flat down the hill, into 4th at the kink, to avoid sliding, and straight down to 2nd for the hairpin, hugging the inside, and just missing the guys sitting on the cafe's brown chairs...
back up to 4th, use the kerb of the right sweeper to gain position so i can dab/slide my way round the left part of the s, as i pass T3.
drive straight into the first long right, braking down to 2nd, using a late apex, then just miss the inside walls in 2nd gear for the left and right hairpins that follow, remembering to get a good exit speed from the second.

Help? :irked:

Why am i slow?

:grumpy:👍

Why am i slow?

:grumpy:👍

I might know why...

1. You're driving slower than other people, giving the perception you're slow, when you're actually quite hasty in comparison to the rest of the GT4 owners. Come on, be half full 👍 . Think of it this way, if 6 million owned GT4 (Just a random number), and you were even the 60th fastest driver in the world, that'd still make you within the 0.001% or 99.99% depending how you look at it of fastest drivers in the world. (Also, don't quote my maths...)

2. You picked the 2CV instead of the R32...I've made that mistake numerous times.

seems i'm still struggling on the end of T2 as my times will prove

T1 41'363
T2 1'07.883
T3 1'45.322

so you see i still need help for that corner i keep moaning about (altho i have had one or two suggestions which i shall try after work), and i keep hitting that blasted building that sticks out when you slide over the zebra crossing just avoiding the cones!!!!

i'm completely happy that i'm doing the rest of the track as fast as I can, so will practise practise and perfect!

cheers guys
cass

Hey You Guys!!!!!!

Tried the DS2 for a while and improved last night, BUT went back to the DFP today and improved again!

T1 41.538
T2 1,07.888 :indiff: 👍
T3 1,43.493 👍

Then cleanly screwed up on the last hairpin and only improved final time by .4 :ill:

Thought these would be fairly good, until i saw Hot's 1,40's @T3

Must improve, gotta beat Koly this week!

Neil

Casio, thanx for the kind words...

I would like to be an optimist, but unfortunately life has scarred me and i drink from a glass that's half empty.

I would like to be excited and come on here with fresh splits, to find i am the fastest guy on here, at least for a day or so, but when i get a good time, i come to gtp, and discover that Holl or Hot took 5mins round the course, and are currently 2 or 3 clear seconds quicker than me.

Always.

They have the same game, they are human (well hot is debatable) and aside from loox, they are the same as me in terms of ability.
I have the same levels of experience, i can react to information just as quickly, so why do i have a disadvantage?
I know there will always be someone faster than me, thats life, but i cant rationalise why, if i dont look for areas that im failing, and ask for advice on how to improve them, and learn from what im told.

Thus, i posted a guide i hope to have analised and criticised, and i hope to learn where to better my efforts.

But thanx for the post, i wondered why the VW had a handbrake sticking out of its dashboard, right next to a vertical, sideways on gearstick, till i realised i was in the citroen.

kk vexd, from what i read your lap seeems to be like mine... although the MPH mess me up

-all the corners leading up to t1 are taken in 2nd gear, hugging the wall as close you can
-left after t1, make sure you dont slow down past 70km/h
-long right leading to t2, give youself the optimum line for the best exit speed... because that mountain section is taken around 147'ish km/h for the left right at t2
-hairpin at the bottom of the hill, 2nd gear 45km/h left tires on the sidewalk
-125ish km/h in the right left past t3
-2nd last hairpin, taken in first
-last hairpin, taken in 2nd

jumpputt
Really slow start here. Driving in the middle of the road. Sure wish I could drive with a DS2. Looks like it's gonna be pretzel arms for me :)

Maybe 10 laps into it:

45.574
115.050
154.247

Looking at everyone elses times, I must have been in the wrong car or forgot the quick tune or something :ill:
*edit*I just got home and found that I was running this car with 178hp :dopey: I had been drinking heavily  I decreased HP and added weight! Moral of the story is "don't drink and drive"
It felt like I needed to put the car in 1st gear just to get it to go up the hill!!

41.244
1'07.773
1'43.319

Very pleased with the first sector, the rest of the lap was poor, especially in the third sector. The last two hairpins I also messed up pretty badly.

Just done a few more laps, am doin faster final lap times with little or no improvement in splits.

1.3 secs off at the line!

Will get faster obviously, all i have to do is further improve t2 and t3 and tack on the final sector's that i now have more-or-less sorted.
Am running pretty much the same as hot's lap(obviously slower......D'Oh!)

Have however turned the DFP back down to the 60% feedback setting, and it's much easier on the arms through the twisties.

For those who don't know, you can adjust the feed-back strength 'at the wheel' by pressing the left paddle,R3 and select- all together. The left LED flashes once for 60% and twice for 100%

BTW the wheel is set to 60% by default 'out-of-the-box'

Feeling quite optomistic this week!

Thanx Hot, glad you didnt take offence at my sarcasm earlier, it wasnt meant to offend.

1st gear for the penultimate hairpin?

bloody flip.

Why?

i thought 2nd would be quicker.

Still you know what youre doin, and i have seconds to find, but youre ahead of me by 2 seconds before then, so i think my main problem is the fast section on the hilltop.

Do u need brakes at all?

which gears are you in?

And where the hell did those other 2 seconds go?

thanx for the response though man, us slowies need it.

👍

I think TCS and ASM may also be a valid choice for this week, even for those who typically leave these controls/devices at home or in the garage. :P Those last hairpins really screw you up without them unless you have really good throttle control or a DFP. These last two corners will seperate the young from the somewhat-older-by-age-but-not-by-behavior. :D

So has anyone mentioned the drifting possibilities on this track yet, I am not really very good at drifting in the least bit but I though it may help on the first turn where there is plenty of space to manuever (sp?) or if my name started with an 'H' maybe even pull it off in the last 2 haripins? Just a thought, last night I tried to do some e-braking around the left hairpin after the mountain (t2 section) any advise on this anyone?

when you drop into gear 2 hold R2 and it wont wheelspin half as much if at all as if it dropped into gear 1, it works.

I don't know........

I've been driving round and round this bleeding course, got my clubs in the back as an excuse to the fiasco(OOOPs meant fiance), and i still can't find the 19th hole ANYWHERE! :grumpy:

Help......please!!!

I'm getting dizzy!

Sod this! I'm off to play pool and drink Guinness!

FTAO of those who do the weekly leaderboard...

Do you do it manually by looking through every post for sector times or do you have an automated system? If you do it manually, is there a demand for an automated system?

I'm not good at drifting myself, but have managed to drift in 2 parts. In the back esses at T2 and the stretch running through T3. I did these by accident and ended up faster. The hard part is doing them everytime (for me at least).

I gave it a go and realized why I think all FF platforms should be obsolete.

T1 - 0'41.736
T2 - 1'08.672
T3 - 1'43.465

R32 is AWD. your wrong, look at every FF car honda has every built, the good ones not the US ones the Type R s and such.

oops, still didnt get a run on this track today. I've just recieved confirmation that i'm racing in the JGTC GT500 in the loctite nsx so now I wont drive the wrs race combos so much that it bores me. I can just spread the time out evenly between the two, i'm looking forward to racing any of you that race in the jgtc series. And, of course, in the wrs!!!

T1: 41.468
T2: 1'07.904
T3: 1'42.714

Served up a 1'42.152 T3 a couple laps later but smacked the wall within 5secs.... :ouch:
