Finally got a chance to run some more laps, the last for me this week.

T1: 0'42.003
T2: 1'08.990
T3: 1'43.806

Div 3 - DS2 - AT

Time submitted.

I´ve finally found it!!!! :dopey: :dopey:

it was the gear change that was killing me... just notice running with the ghost, when i saw that the way that i was doing was completely wrong.

i have managed to shave 1´6 seconds of the time... have a 1´41´532 T3... :sly:

still 1´4 behind hot604boi...
but only 0´6 from div 2 leader... :dopey:

still time to improve 0´7, 0´8 if a can put a lap togheter...

I'm really doing something wrong somewhere near the start...

I can not break a 1:08.5xx T2, but I can consistantly get a mid-low 1:42 on T3...

If only I could get the start of this track right!!!

lol, nice, i wish i was that lucky :P

need to shave off about 2 seconds to catch up with you.

Well, I think there is ALOT of time to be made up from the T2-T3 Run....Looking at everybodys times, everyone is around the high 1:06 - low 1:08 mark at T2. A difference of around 1.5 seconds. But by T3 that difference has blown out to about 3-4.

The key spots are, the back 'straight', which can almost be taken completely flat out if you've set yourself up right.

The long right just before you go down the hill

And the huge hairpin......

Of course, you also need to get those hairpins before the finish correct as well....

Here are some T-times from the great and only Toffe.

T1: 41.633
T2: 1'08.117
T3: 1'42.887

Made a quite good T2-T3 but there is some time to make in the other sections. At least 0.5 seconds, maybe more.

my dream lap consisting of my best sectors would look like this~

0'40.525
1'06.263
1'39.870

but im yet to improve on my old time~

I finally got a time that I'm comfortable with posting up...

T1: 41.365
T2: 1:07.552
T3: 1:42.467

This is a tough combo this week...

Just only 1 hour spent during the rest of the week after my initial 3 hour binge on the first day :yuck:
Tiny improvement to show for it today; will probably end up being the time i submit for this week.

T1: 0'40.829
T2: 1'06.910
T3: 1'40.848 (Saw a 1'40.6 once, then blew it on the second to last hairpin :banghead: )

I do have a question though. Are the cones at T2 valid or are they considered to be walls? I took the inside of the turn really tight and it didn't look like i touched any of them, but then when i look in the rearview mirror one of the ones had shifted a bit into the track.

Edit: Luxy i am D1 for the third straight time! :)

Cones are fair game in my book. They were at Infineon, over the white line at Autumn Ring, same deal. As long as you don't clip the wall with the nose of the car you are good to go. More often then not I take the first or 2nd cone out somewhere in my session and from there on I am good to go. No wall hit what-so-ever.

Got another 1 hour session in tonight before my run and chopped off over 1 second in my final time with sectors as follows;

T1 - 41.189
T2 - 1'07.277
T3 - 1'41.584

D1/DFP/No aids

The above isn't my fastest lap, I have a lap .010 faster with slightly slower sectors. Both laps cone free, hahaha. Most of the laps I ran in this combo though I took at least one cone out on the corner, sometimes all when i really blew it.

I've enjoyed this quite a bit. Nice little combo here CFM. I'm still off the pace in my division but did alot better than I expected in a car that doesn't suit me well, though I adore Costa (it is my 3rd favorite circuit in GT4 behind the Nordschleife and El Capitan).

I don't think I'll get another session in tomorrow night so this might be my final time. Eitherway there is only another .2-.3 in it for me.

ok, i will probably submit this particular time, even though the T3 time is slower than my personal best

T1 29.706 (had one 29.564 once)
T2 1'06.479 (had 1'04.368 once)
T3 1'40.105

i finished just OK, reasonably happy with the final time, hit the finish line at 1'44.2km/h
came close to hitting 3 walls (really close to clipping the 2nd last hairpin) i also wiped out all of the cones when passing the T3 marker, is that ok to do??

i broke the second barrier which i was aiming 4 so thats allright, cheers, and good luck in the results everybody, from holl01.

T1- 47.767
T2- 1'08.729
T3- 1'43.662

Tons of room for improvement seeing as I was more or less toying around at the time and only for ten minutes. :P Still, I doubt I'll see anything near a podium! Maybe a camera flash from a reporter near the podium...maybe.

BTW, stop taking whatever it is that is making you so superhumanly fast, holl01!!

Well, there is probably another second to be made in each of these splits, but I really can't bebothered getting it...

T1: 41.631
T2: 1:07.663
T3: 1:42.001

I really, really wanted a T3 of 1:41, which I have seen but killed myself on the last corners....and If only I could finish those laps when I got a T1 of 41.1....The problem was, since I'm using Auto, I wasn't fast enough around the first corner to change into 4th before the jump, which costs me about 0.4 of a second....

Also holl01, I hope you're T1 time is supposed to be 39.706, and not 29.706!!!

I think I also managed to knock over every cone on the course...

I know which second barrier Holl broke.

Ive been trying to break the one above him for ages.... i know i can, its just getting everything right.
What i mean is, im trying to break a barrier, and he is trying to be one second quicker than i am.

Least i hope its one. It might be two. :irked:

Anyway.

Key to this course, spend 5 mins finding out the top speed in each gear, then reaching that speed, or the figure one below it, each time you drive the track.
MPH is like this:
Stay in 2nd out of the hairpins, using the last inch of road up to the sand before turning right out of the last one onto the straight, which gives you more straight to run, therefore higher top speed, therefore a quicker T1, change from 2nd to 3rd at 56MPH, 3rd to 4th at 82MPH (just before you cross the line!) and 4th to 5th at 107-110MPH, you pick.
I dont use kph, so someone else can work this out, and post it.

The other most important things are:
Stay parallel with the right hand wall as long as you can until the car starts to understeer with too much speed, before T2, then when it slides out, brake and drive straight back into the turn, giving you optimum racing line round the turn, and better exit speed.
Once onto the back straight, which is twisty, try to use half throttle round the twisties, and drive out of there at at least 95MPH, accelerating all the way.
That is where all the time is lostor gained, as the following hairpins etc can be learned with time, and correct braking points.

There are major advantages to stopping EARLY enough, and also to using HALF throttle round corners.

I just need another .5, and im happy..... i doubt im gonna find it though.

Good luck people.

:grumpy:👍

56Mph = 90 Km/h
82Mph = 131 Km/h
107 - 110 Mph = 171 - 176 Km/h

That math sure pays off...

What you mean multiplying everything by 1.6?

I cant be bothered doing that when i know someone will come on here and do it for me.

Oh wait, you just did!

:grumpy:

I always wondered why you were named after a calculator. 👍

Haha, yeah multipling everything by 1.6 was a huge challenge for me, I failed maths last term :ill:

Actually, I couldn't think of a name for myself, and anything half-decent was taken. So I looked down at my watch! And tada, Casio was born!

I used to have a Casio calculator actually, but I've since upgraded to a Ti.

I've submitted my time, by the way, incase anyone cares...

Thought not....

Edit: (Woop, looks like I'm about to fail English as well, just a quick read over, and I think correct grammar for 'Maths' is 'Math'...But feel free to correct me...)

Now now, dont get despondant.

Im sure you've kicked all sorts of people's a$$es.

My name originates from the term vexed(suits me perfectly), which is in the dictionary, look it up, but i used it as a dj name for years, and carried it through as my online monicker.
Over the years it has evolved, and i now prefer to write it as VEXD, which can even be found on the base of my license plate on my EG.
Unfortunately, i didnt have the foresight to put it in capitals when i registered here, so im stuck with this lower case crap...

anyway, good luck with the racing people, and watches.....👍

So it is, I've never heard of that word...You learn something everyday...

Now not to sound like some of these members who make one line posts continually, I better add some more...

I'm not feeling despondent this week, actually, if anything, I'm feeling quite confident. I'm aiming for victory! (But seriously, does anybody aim for 2nd or 9th)
The only problem is my lack of replay device :( .

I might need to invest in one....

Also when do you get to change that little bit of writing under your name (Where mine says 'Junior Member')

Leaderboard Updated :)

Alpine
Edit: Luxy i am D1 for the third straight time! :)

:dunce: Sorry Alpine.

It's up to you (of course), but it would help me out if your division was somewhere in your sig. It really slows me down having to check the registered drivers thread (and so I try to do it from memory, and that obviously doesn't work :P )

you could order one from www.play-asia.com as i know that they have them in stock and will despatch to aus without a problem, but i dont know how long this will take.

I went to my local games store that isnt one of the big chainstores, and i asked them to order it for me.

This was a 3 day job, and much easier than ordering off the net for me.

Make sure you get a PAL one!

BAh. i took a couple of days off in my frustration, came back and tried one more time, this time without loading the previous ghost replay, and wadayaknow. i pwned my time.
T1: 41.414
T2: 1:07.665
T3: 1:42.873

Dang it now i gotta send CFM another PM. :nervous:
