Major improvements tonight!

As for the steep downhill section after T2, I'm going full 4th gear down to the last right kink before the hairpin, braking just before the right kink, just enough to make a controlled turn (riding on the sidewalk), then briefly off the brake before back on for a tight turn around the hairpin. I don't know if this is the best way but it's helped me cut 2+ sec. off of my time.

T1: 0'41.233
T2: 1'07.559
T3: 1'43.088

@Amp 88. Do I need to have the quotations for your program to work?

I seem to suck at this track :)

Jump_Ace, check your email.

EDIT: Apparently I have a strong T1 and T2 ... one of the strongest, but I'm losing it all between T2 and T3. Anyone have any hints and tips for this section?

T1 - :41.212
T2 - 1:07.363
T3 - 1:42.155

I really REALLY need to break 1:42 here and hit just about 1:07 flat for T2.....

No, you don't need to put in the quotation marks. What the program looks for in a time is a full stop with a number both to the left and to the right. Sorry for the confusion, but thanks for asking :)

If anyone doesn't know what program jumpputt is talking about, take a look at this thread, please.

I hope that program of yours comes together mate! As for my splits I'm done for the night, I think ls2 and randy have me this week. Great splits guys!

had a t3 of 1'39.976 once but i couldnt finish it off, i will soon though, i realised that gearing is important and maxing out each gear gains significant time aswell, and use 2nd gear 4 the two final hairpins, and ds2 works best 4 this one, as u can drift the car around the tight opening corners, and also works well in the last hairpins.

exit spped is everything, entry speed means ****,

Great point holl01 I realized the same thing racing my ghost, shifting is amplified by grade % increase (i.e. Costa uphills) And u know how I said I was gonna try to use the direction pad holl01, well my thumb freaggin hurts!! OUCH, I push down so hard that if I push down on my thumbnail it stings! So I'm gonna go back to using the stick, plus it feel easier to get better times with it, it feels more smooth in corners.

ok this is beginning to P*** ME OFF!!!!! GRRRRrr, ive gone through and had a T1 of 40.8xx 3 times in a row, then continued to have a 1'06.9xx 3 times in a row, and EVERY SINGLE TIME IVE ****** it up in the hair pin..... OH THE FRUSTRATION!!

Okay...Explorer has crashed twice trying to post this...I'm more determined than Microsoft though :) New splits for me

T1: 0'41.204
T2: 1'07.316
T3: 1'42.260

Some impressive splits are being posted...crikey!!!

my first run on this weeks combo...

[edit] new times!

T1: 41.902
T2: 1.08.537
T3: 1.43.031

was 2 tenths slower at T1 than before and 3 tenths down at T2, but had an amazing T2 to T3 ad went 1.2 seconds faster at T3 than before!.

New splits for me, great combo CFM 👍

0'41.093
1'07.310
1'41.537

I lost 2 tenths in sector 2 but gained a second and a half by the finish. I'm really enjoying this combo, looking for just that slight slip angle from the front wheels.

some more splits for the DIV.2 people to have a chuckle about

T1: 40.937
T2: 1'06.957
T3: 1'41.304

took off a whole second off my other previous best time, hoping to take another .5 off by tuesday night!

No chuckling here, just tears...lots of em! :) I was really happy with my lap but the people beating me are forming a queue...it's getting long...and I'm not sure how many more laps I can get in!!!

Who knew ghosts were such a distraction? Even if it's behind me, apparently it's still f'ing with me. I had been running laps for 30 minutes or so with little success. Saw splits of 40.6-8, 1'06.6-8, but tanked the hairpin every time. Amazing. I ran a faster lap than my current best early on in the session, but it was dirty. Later, I hit another decent (+ clean) lap and was ready to call it quits for a bit. Went to save the ghost, but wait.. it was marginally slower than my dirty lap, so the dirty one got saved instead. Gotta be kidding me.

Frustrated, I started a new session, but didn't load a ghost. Made it all the way 'round cleanly (and after 30 minutes of stupid mistakes, doing this on the first lap almost made me want to wreck just to ease the tension, but I decided it was probably better not to do that), shaving .4 overall. Works for me! 👍

T1: 40.877
T2: 1'06.881
T3: 1'41.247 (I still hate that damn hairpin)

Yeah the ghost has been ticking me off lately too so I've turned it off from now on. As for the dirty lap problem, if I post a decent lap that's dirty I always restart the session for the EXACT reason you just gave, I had the same thing happen earlier in the week.

You realize you can turn the ghost on or off during a race using d-pad, right? That way you can turn it off when you're at a particularly tricky part or if you want to turn it off for the last section to surprise yourself or whatever. It's much easier than changing it in the options menu. :P

Yep.. I just have a habit of running with a ghost to see if I'm keeping pace. This was just one of the few times I ran without a ghost and had something good come of it so quickly.. kinda surprised me is all.

I will play this week with the DFP, my own is coming up today. :)

I hope to play better with it, at least i will put hard work this weekend. :)

Got a second session in with this combo, for a total of 1.5 hours total over both sessions. Hopefully I'll find some freetime before Tuesday to get one more session in. There is about .6-8 seconds out there for me if I hit some corners in the final section right, including the hairpin(s). I'm enjoying this combo. I typically don't do well with understeering cars, though this one isn't so bad. I do like cars with looser backends though. Maybe that comes from spending so much time in RR Rufs. Anyway;

T1 - 41.509
T2 - 1'07.857
T3 - 1'42.491

A whooping 3 full seconds off my final best time though, so that was a added plus.

Div 1 / DFP / No driver aids

after such a promising week 13, i don´t kwon what i´m doing wrong here... i´ve tried manual, automatic, fast entry on corners, slow entry, quick gear changes, slow gear changes, and still completely suck at this combo... i hate slow, normal cars... i supposed this should be about racing... with racing cars... whatever, still can´t get below my 1´42´500 T3 split 👎 :yuck: :dunce:

that´s 2´5 seconds of hot604boi time... i really want to see the replay of this week...

If I could throw my wheel across the room I would:censored:. Just cant seem to come to terms with this combo:banghead:. Have been getting a little better, but still way off the pace. Latest slow splits :yuck::

T1: 41.578
T2: 1:08.080 👎
T3: 1:42.541 👎👎👎👎👎

Still can't crack 1:41's in T3. Have seen 41.1's in T1, 1:07.5 in T2, but just cant seem to put it together. Might give up this week and just submit this time :irked:.

Ehh not to happy with my progress as of right now. I know I can make improvement in the following sectors:
T1
T2
T3
T4 :dunce:

Anywho here are my sorry sectors for now:

T1: 0'41.181
T2: 1'07.290
T3: 1'42.005

Ran some more laps. Better but I am far from happy.

T1: 0'40.859
T2: 1'06.904
T3: 1'41.743 :yuck:

The pressure is on, boy you guys are quick. Got some new splits, they're not brilliant but I'm getting faster and more consistent, hopefully I can improve by Tues:

T1: 0'41.302
T2: 1'07.475
T3: 1'42.255

I'd like to get under 1'42 at T3 before time is up...we'll see...
