GT4 WRS Week 144 : Rally!!! Ta very much, old chap.

Had another go at it. I looked at the leaderboard and discovered why it was so hard for me to beat my t2. It was relatively fast already. I kept improving my t1 and my final time almost every lap, and finally beat my t2. Not by much. Now my splits are more relative. Hint, Hint. :odd:

Hey Am I the first to pull high 17's in T1? Because my second set of splits has it!!

T2: 50.199 (Lost 0.5 sec. at the downhill!! Grrrrr!!!)

My best from last night:

T1: 18,407
T2: 50,282

I've sorted out my first sector, been as low as 18,096 today, but I haven't managed to beat my final time yet, I lose about 0,5 seconds in the final sector compared to yesterdays best.
Hopefully, Arsenals remarkable second-half comeback will inspire me to new heights.. :sly:

However, I'm not sure if it was clean. Between the second and third turn(The sharp,uphill right) after T1, there is a piece of tarmac off on the left side. I had all four wheels on it, over the white line. Is that off-limits?

I have an issue, not the first one for sure. I cant seem to find this car. I looked in gt mode and I can get the standard version just not the rally version.

It's unlocked by winning Grand Canyon normal in the special conditions hall.

Do you want a seperate full game save to use for the WRS. If you have a seperate memory card you can .max a full game save.

You can find it looking at post #54 week 139 zonda. not results it has ntsc and pal
 
Well I'll get on the board. I have a feeling this week is going to be pretty close between everyone. I know it is early in the week but looking at the splits so far the d2,d3 guys might only be off by 1-1.5 seconds overall. And props to the d3 guys for making me sweat for sure. Maybe I shouldn't have said I was missing those tight races back in d3!

It is definitely an interesting combo. I have been knocking some weird amounts of time off while running this combo so far. I can't seem to understand how I can be so consistent with not knocking off time in the postable split sectors just to come around and knock some decent chunks off of my last sector. I guess the turn combo through t3 is pretty significant for this track running reverse. Looking forward to see the luxy updates unfold this week.

Even though it is an average t2 I feel my last sector is pretty strong. I'll give it some more runs this week as I have a feeling I'll need to to get anywhere close to a gold level time.

@ gtbadboy: I doubt I'm 100% right, but I do think that being able to use the gearing as a tool for steering is accurate. I also think that the key to a fast lap here is knowing which rumble strips will throw you and which ones won't.

And 3 tenth faster at the line. Still losing another 2-3 tenth in the last section though, but you can't get it all. :dopey: On the other hand, with a superb combo like this, I'll definitely try. :D
 
Can't seem to find any improvement this morning. Must be I'm choosing bad lines 'cause I can't get the car to go any faster.:dunce::dunce: My loft problem seems to be rearing its ugly head this week. :ill:

does this mean that it is OK to leave the ground so long as at least two tires are over (at least) the rumble strips just before T1 and at the last set of switchbacks before the final turn? i ask because i think i may be making my runs cleaner than they really need to be.

Yes. Usually our races include any rumble strips as track. Whatever color. As stated last weeks race said the light or dark green areas are not track. So you may be cleaner than you need to be. But I like your style. Though maybe slower. :odd::mischievous:

I think this would be a good time to bust into the WRS. I haven't been able to make a run yet since I qualified in week 140.

I hope I can be competitive with this.

I'll edit later with some rough times.
 
I'm pretty much hitting a brick wall now as I have had slightly faster splits and overall laptime ... my best save is .1 slower than I've been at T2 yet .050 faster at the line and I have been nearly .2 slower at T2 and nearly matched my best save with it! :crazy::crazy: .... its all down to those last few turns and i'm 50/50 for getting them all clean and fast :dopey:

There's a few tenths still laying around that Hugo could surely pick up! .. but these will probably be my final splits unless I find the urge to try again ..

have seen 18.0xx and I have maybe .050 to get on the last two turns before T2 so a high 49.7 is my goal.

I did try 230 (anyone else?) and although it is faster than my 240 ghost out of most corners I haven't gotten a better lap time. I can't figure out if 240 is actually faster or the slightly different gearing is messing up my rhythm.

I'm using 250. I'm slower but the 240 made me loose time after t2 due to shifting more than once, I do like the pick up of 240 though. If I were faster like D1, 4th gear through that section after t2 would be best. Small improvement myself on t2.
