Week 148 Race Specifics:

This week you have the freedom to pick whatever cars you want to run from the list of car supplied. You can run one, two, three, four or even all five cars if you want to.

When posting your splits, only post splits for your fastest run.

You can also post what car you used to gain your fastest splits, but it's not an official requirement to do so.

Submit all your final lap times to me in the normal fashion, but bold your fastest lap time together with the car that you used. This is so I can quickly identify your fastest lap.

Your fastest lap time will be placed into our normal divisional race results format, but this week we will also be having a results table for each car.

UPDATE:

The WOODONE Tom's Supra '03 has replaced the Esso Ultraflo Supra '01

Happy anniversary WRS. 👍👍👍👍👍

It's been 5 years since the WRS started and the first race was the Supra @ Trial Mountain:

To celebrate this great milestone we will be driving 5 Supra's @ Trial Mountain.

Enjoy.

Well Jerry, that's one hell of a combo you concocted for us to celebrate 5 years of WRS in GTP. Well done Mr. Steward
My first Supra to try will be the Esso Ultraflo but only because it remembers as the best drive and 'cos it has the best looks of the lot you picked for us.

Browsing thru the thread for week 1 I see some familiar names like Kent and Ron & Kelly, but otherwise all (most) of the others carry names I see for the first time. Lots have changed apparently since those days ... :nervous:

EDIT well after a few first goes the Esso sorta dissapointed but the Tom's felt really good.

16.059 - 34.829 - 59.748 @ 300 - TCS on

board init

Haven't really driven any of these but the Tom's 01 I think. Not gonna mention which car I'm using though it's definately not the Esso Ultraflo as it's not in the NTSC version.

T1 16.067
T2 34.732
T3 59.080

@ 360, no TCS.

Happy 5th anniversary wrs! Cheers to all you crusty speed junkies who've been here through it all

Had to have a quick go with my old school fav supra 👍 Plenty left in it but it's a start.

15.107 / 33.502 / 57.974

Man, if I only had the time I would run this all week. Work, work, work.... makes Jake a dull boy. :boggled:

esh
the Esso Ultraflo as it's not in the NTSC version.

I have a suggestion for this. If those with NTSC drive the Toyota WOODONE Tom's Supra (JGTC) '03 at +12% power its 554hp. The weight reduction would be the same.

I'm ahead of you. Just testing it out now. :)

Rolla Coasta, still alot left out there but I'm getting closer...

14.859 / 32.845 / 56.973

It's a shame we don't have the esso but I'm not sure I'll run 5 cars anyway so it's all good to me. Nice work Jerry 👍

This is just insane. Theres always SO much room for improvement yet you're always fighting to control the car. The "bumpyness" of this track is both a huge advantage (at times) and a huge disadvantage.

This should be good.

Now, if only I could actually finish one of my "better" laps without going off the track or making a minor (major when speaking in time lost) mistakes.

Current times:

T1: 14.841
T2: 32.658
T3: 57.030

I plan to beat this time though, since my replay had a bit of a fishy spot where I was sliding while slowing down in a bumpy part of the track really close to the wall. The analyzer goes a bit nuts but it could be from either event, or both.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, I was just driving around and then posted, figured someone would have posted by now.

EDIT #2: Actually never mind, the analyzer looks great, I was looking at the wrong part.

Important Update:

I have decided to remove the ESSO Ultraflo Supra (JGTC) '01 from the list and replace it with the WOODONE Tom's Supra (JGTC) '03

Toyota WOODONE Tom's Supra (JGTC) ’03 Specifics:
  • Power: (+12%) 554hp
  • Weight: (-10%) 990kg
  • Driving Aids: Any

1st post updated.

After a few clean laps in the Denso I had to take a break. :scared:

15.538
33.947
58.784

This is the track where I show the boys from Canaan how to drive. Usually we race the "Weedsport" around here LAN style. I even beat Jake here with a tire handicap about 4-6 weeks ago. They told me "No handicaps anymore" after that.....:indiff:

I used the 01 Tom's for this lap.

15.702
34.805
59.629

After a more indepth session:

T1 15.170
T2 33.427
T3 57.968

360/no TCS

Saw a couple 14's @ T1 but always came out too wide at the tunnel.

New times for me, and theres still many, many places where a lot of time can be made up. almost every lap I'm a bit faster through a sector than my ghost, I just can't string it all together into one complete "monster" laptime.

Good luck everyone.

T1: 14.487
T2: 32.257
T3: 56.400

The '01 Castrol Toms.

board update

EDIT well I obviously had to try the new '03 car that came up from the differences between ntsc and pal garages. It handles well without tcs (yes even to me) and feels stable thru the high speed curves.

15.681 - 34.498 - 59.387

Sorry, but the usual question at Trial Mountain:

Is the concrete on the outside of the rumble in the chicane track... or not?

Wow!! ... I remember Supraman well 👍 the start of the WRS seems like only a couple of years ago and not 5 haha! :sly: then again this I am into my 7th year at GTP and thats just insane

Looks like a cool combo and I cant wait to try the Castrol '00 and the Woody out ;) my first cars for sure ... not sure if I will get to run them all? but defo those 2 from the blocks 👍

Nice work Jerry!

My usual first runs while awaiting breakfast:

16.052
34.260
59.677

360/no tcs

Great car,(Woodone) not my favorite track. Having said that.........great combo and challenge for me. I will give some of the other choices a go but the Woodone has always been one of my favorites.

Much work to be done here.

Edit: Breakfast is running late this morning.

15.876
34.307
59.001

Edit II: Proper morning nourishment must agree with me

15.185
33.091
57.855

I'm done for the day and on travel tomorrow and possibly Thur as well. Good luck to all.

A few quick laps in the Woody to get a clean banker  this car is so cool!

14.388 / 32.088 / 55.886 :) ( nearly had 3 splits all ending with 88 :P ) still bucket loads to come off thats for sure .. I'm going back after a cuppa :sly: btw! .. using 340 autoset

Cool combo, will try some other cars later

edit ran some in the Castrol toms '00 and the '01 also .. so here's all 3 of my splits so far ..

=Woodone - 14.388 / 32.088 / 55.886
Castrol '01 - 14.519 / 32.063 / 55.963 ( seen 14.3 / 31.9 and 55.7 so loads left )
Castrol '00 - 14.595 / 32.227 / 56.071 ( heavy and slow in this one :( seems no match for the others )
Cerumo '01 - 14.361 / 31.859 / 55.654 ( best car yet 👍 )
Denso Sard - 14.502 / 32.163 / 56.022

All 5 driven and the Cerumo is the best imo ;)

Nice times, I guess I'll be trying the woodone supra later on this week.

But still, there's plently of go left in the Castrol as well, I'm just hoping the woodone is a bit more stable over bumpy areas, where I'm having to not go 100% because I could risk messing the entire lap up.

Oh, and Bigracer, I'm not using a DFP, just a DF. The original one.

EDIT: New times for me with the woodone. It seems faster overall but I feel that the initial turn in isn't as good as the catrol;s.

T1: 14.525 (a bit slower actually)
T2: 32.199
T3: 56.051

Tried a few with the woodie, it's probably the fastest car I'd guess, faster then the denso that is for sure

14.745 / 32.526 / 56.162

plenty more in it but I'm gonna go back to the denso sard because I'm nistalgic :dopey:

Updated the post above with Cerumo time to keep them all together .. what a great car it is btw! best drive of the 4 tested already in speed and handling  only the denso left :(

edit: updated a denso run also :)

Nice runs ron 👍 I had a go with the orange one, back to the sard a little later...

woodone 14.745 / 32.526 / 56.162
cerumo 14.686 / 32.214 / 56.216

Still not coming to terms with all the curves, many silly lifts and such so I think there is tons still left.

I'm loving this, surely I'll send all 5 laps by the end of the week. So far, I only ran the first one on the list: the Cerumo:
14.349
31.826
55.709
This lap felt good, not much to gain, but there's at least 0.1 at the last sector (the last corner is a complete shot of luck to make the car remain stable while carrying a good speed :scared: )

The '00 cars won't be able to compete with the others at all, despite having the same stats.

Happy birthday WRS

very depressing, all those fast T3's :sly:

I have the feeling I can never catch up nearly a second.

Anyway,my splits in the Woodone.

14.846
32.701
56.910

very depressing, all those fast T3's :sly:

I have the feeling I can never catch up nearly a second.

A bit after I started my session, roughly at the time I usually sort out the combos (especially after last week's easy midfield, where I only had 1 session for each car and got very close to my limit), I was running low 57's and thinking that was a preety good time and wondering how could Ron get 55's, that seemed impossible at the time. Then I started to drive gradually more aggressively and the times started to go down. I ended up getting this 55 in a 1-hour session.

So, who aims for a fast lap at this track must have a decent amount of madness :mischievous: I wonder whether I will be able to break the next second barrier or if it's only for the aliens. TM has always so much time left...
