Well done Steve on posting your first full t's 👍

Lol i always have the same problems with the name and get confused oh btw steven i use a DS2 just to let u not for the furture and im just gonna try shaved another couple .100 of a second off i i can catch ya later

Hi Gents,

Nice times already 👍

Unfortunately I´m downed with the flu but still managed to pull a "few" laps in the "Spyker".
Man, this is some challenge... just like what the F1-drivers are facing this season... no TCS ... especially round those very tight bends :scared:
Not really my kind of track... hardly ever been here... but it grows on you once you get settled and comfortable with that "pinball" sensation :dopey:

18.856 // 52.934

I sense someone lurking in the pits:scared: ... just waiting to axe me down 👍

Best of luck, Hekke.

After a morning session I came up with these.

20.686
56.745

In a lap with two wall taps (barely) just before T2 I had a 20.4xx and a 56.0xx, so its there. Now if I can just get T1 below a 20. I've seen a few, but only a few.

Did you notice it's -20%? :sly: (just joking, great time, and you could even do it being ill! :scared: Get well soon :)

I ran a bit more with the white one, and my new splits are these:
18.837
53.639
Top speed 300

I'm very happy with my T1. It's my only 18.8, and now I think I could even do a 18.7. But then I got nervous and my T2 was awful (not that I could do that 52, but a low 53 is surely possible for me). Then, I left at least 0.4 at the last sector.

What bothers me here is not the gap between me and Hekke, it's the gap between me and my virtual best  I can usually get within 0.2 of it, but now I'm losing 1 second.

The key here is throttle control: any wheelspin is a lot of lost time.

Ran last night for the first time (on my new 52" Sony ). Trying to get used to the car and the times are dropping - but still far from where they should be

20.105 (19.675)
56.420

I'm using 320 gears and a combination of throttle control (or lack of it) or early upshifts to control wheel spin.

Don't shift early: controlling the throttle is really the way to go. Although you shouldn't use 2nd gear anywhere 👍

Its always best to throttle control 3rd gear in this beast. Good luck doing it effectively on a ds2 tho :nervous: it can be done but not as smooth as the wheel. Took about 3 laps on the DFP, nothing really clean to post :/ Maybe this weekend.

I wont be racing this one as I am not keen on monaco in F1 and I have other things to do also ;) Please don't call me a cherry picker or I will be forced to backtrack the last 5 years of WRS haha! :P .. Good luck to all taking part

Steven you're doing a great job updating the board, but I'm afraid there is a mistake this time: you've updated my splits to arora's username.

@Steven....minor detail but you´ve got Erik´s and CMir´s times and order mixed up, I´m afraid :)

CMir: 18.837 // 53.639
arora: 19.093 // 54.027

(Sorry Erik )
CMir
Did you notice it's -20%?
What??? :banghead: ............ no worries ;)
Feeling better, thanks 👍

@Ron.... you´ll be back soon :cheers:👍

Cheers, Hekke.

Hekke, I'm curious to know something about your splits: do they belong to a fast lap by your standards, or are you having the same problems as me (not being able to link all the good corners) and therefore you could be much faster (:scared:)?

I'd like to know which planet you come from, that is all.

:irked:👍

He's just sooooooooooooooooooooooo fast

I know I had a few too many pops last night but after a long work road trip today I checked the board and thought, damn, I don't remember posting those splits :P I'm sure Steven or someone else with accesss will sort that out 👍

I was hoping your first splits would be of the low 53.x type Hekke, not 52.x  Nice ones and more to come I'm sure. As soon as the sun quits shining on my tv I'll run again...

WOW some great time from all of D1 u guys are just way to fast lmao i wanna know what planet your on as well...

but anyway my splits are abit worst on T2 better on T1 tho but worked out better some how

T1 19.251 T2 55.275

Sorted, my bad. Corrected and updated Steve's new (and slower?) splits.

Carlos, buddy, of course you're right. Keep in mind, though, that everyone has their particular level of ability (just look at your splits vs mine :scared:). My goal is to use throttle control only, but when I am unable to do so effectively :dunce:, then upshifitng is the next best solution.

Ok i seem to be able to drive it today but i can't say why lol, maybe im more wake????

Splits 0'19.187
0'54.308

If it wern't for one turn i could be much fast but it will not, does not want to move. It goes nowhere so more power wheel spin less nothing, more power wheel spin. Its like a dodge charger, massive weight and lost of power.

new ones after alot of arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! bang bang bang lol

Ran a handful of laps earlier in the week. Then my Ebay-purchased ($405 shipped) 60 gig PS3 with COD4/RFOM/F1CE (among others) arrived, and, well, ah, I've been distracted. Gotta pick up a card reader so I can move the ps2 save file for GT4 over.

Wicked system. Don't think it will survive the repeated 3-foot drops my PS2's endured, though. Gotta be careful.

Careful with them card readers, i tried it and loss all my data and the card never worked again :S. Great peace of kit thou and i hope to see you on COD4 eh ;)

New splits after running a little longer tonight -

19.888 :)
56.326 :ouch:

Lost loads of time after I saw that T1 pop up on the screen :dunce:

But I think I'm still a ways off from my limit. Hoping to log some hours on the Formula Races in GT Mode this weekend to get a little more used to driving this car and to gain a little more % complete on my new game save.

Might try to go back and improve on these now. :sly:

Kevin

EDIT:
Went back for a little more, and made a small improvement to both splits -

19.885
56.265

That's all for tonight, folks...............

Ron, I doubt anyone could ever accuse you of being a "cherry picker!":) Now a nose picker, well that would be up for argument. I suspect I'll have to pay dearly for that wise arse comment!! :scared:

Kevin, I told Kenny just the other day you'd be all over this one! I give it a go every day and get some wicked fast t1's but, that's it, I can't seem to close the deal. One of these days.................:grumpy:

well i think i have reached my limit....could shaved off maybe another .200 but it keeps teaseing me lol and i thought its in good health on the playstation if i just post my time now before something horrible happens to it :embarrassed:

Had a mid afternoon session and came up with these. I changed gearing to 320. Keeps me out of 3rd gear a little more.

19.967
55.737

New to this, but I think I did ok. Quite a lot of fun, I think if I didn't just blast off on the throttle I could've gotten a bit faster, all that wheelspin.

19.945
56.557

Welcome to the wrs charnsuka, glad your having fun with the race 👍 We don't share our laptimes to keep some sort of suspense durring the week ;)

Hi guys,

I bought myself a G25 this week; a great wheel. Unfortunately this combo is giving me a real tough time on top of getting used to using a wheel instead of a DS2. After 28 painful painful laps

My splits: T1 - 21.848, T2 - 1'05.051

I've hardly touched this track, and I've almost never used this car!

I'm going to try my best to get involved in the WRS this year; I've been an inactive member for quite some time. I'm still not sure what Divison I'm in, but I'm going to guess D3 for now ^^.

The week is almost over, but hopefully I'll be able to give it another one or two sessions.
My goal: T1 - 20.xxx, T2 - 1'01.xxx

Cheers everyone and good luck

Welcome, I think you're the first Kiwi we've had in the WRS (that I've seen anyway).

I too come from a land down under :)

Yes, tough track and tough car and all of these other speedy buggers raced it in week 138 when my G25 was knackered by my kids. Keep practising though, everyone has been able to shave a few seconds off their first time this week (except Hekke who typically reaches the theoretical minimum time on his third lap )
