I too come from a land down under :)

Australia I'm guessing :)?

After another few laps I've managed: T1 - 21.213, T2 - 1'01.219

I'm still having a lot of problems with Mirabeau, Loews and the one after Loews (name?); as well as the Nouvell chicane.

What gear are you all tackling Loews in?

AAAArrrrgh! 53.422 t2, exit race, check data logger, all looks good. Go to replay theatre and watch lap, dup :( there is something hookey with the entry to turn one, I know for a fact that I did not hit the outside left wall upon entry but photo mode freeze frame says other wise..... went back to to data logger and there is nothing funny with the decel there, nice and smooth so I'm pissed now. Good thing is my t1 was slow so I have hope for a faster lap 👍 twas 19.288 / 53.422, I've had several 18.8 and 18.9 so back to it tomoroz I guess.

some splits:
T1:19.983
T2:56.192
I don't really want to put too many laps into this because I don't want to get gold in my Div.

I can't prove my time :(

Edit:charnsuka! hey haven't I seen you around Gamefaqs before?
I'm Div. 2 using a DS2

and gearing is 380. pretty high but I can easily work gears 1-3 at full power.

board updated

To all new members participating - welcome! Please let us know your division and controller device asap so I can put you in the leaderboard nice & right 👍

Whoa!! struggling to get a clean lap :scared:

Even with -20% power it's still spinning them up in 3rd... Times like these I wish I brought that G25 when I could've...

Hey thanks for including me on the leaderboard!

I'm running with a Logitech G25. (Still unsure of my division)

Thanks again.

Did you run the qualifier and "PM" Sphinx with the results? 💡 If you did so he would have notified you as to your Div and posted a formal welcome.

Having said that, welcome and hope you enjoy the group.

Kenny,
You're on fire up there boy. How's an ol' man like me gonna' catch that time?:scared::crazy:

To get the F1 on the PAL version you have to win Nurburgring 24H too.

Here are my latest splits:
18.828 (.777)
53.506
Top speed 300

Most corners were good, and I think that's a great last sector (0.1 faster at T2, 0.7 faster overall). The last corner before T1 and the hairpin could be slightly faster. But then I had a BIG mistake: I touched the rumble strips at the chicane and lost LOTS of time

Hey gtbadboy, First off Thanks.
Secondly, I fell on the ice this morning and landed on my shoulder (of course the bad one) and it hurts like hell, more now then ever. My wife says go to the hospital. I'm afraid the insurance company will ask for another $2500 deductible for this occurrence and I said no way. I was going to see the doctor on Thursday anyway, its the therapy on Monday I'll probably skip. And on that note I'll be skipping the racing today. I'm sure I'm done with this weeks race as I can't really move my arm much. I hope I'll get to LAN race tomorrow. I don't race well with the ds2, but may have to. For now I'm playing Black. That may give you some time to catch me.
Good Luck to all still running this week.

Kenny, sorry to hear about that second fall my friend! ouch:scared:

You should get it taken care of, being pragmatic may make sense but your health is sooooo important. Take it from me, stuff I didn't take care of when I was in my 30's is causing me more grief now that I'm almost 60. It'll cost you, one way or the other, now or later.:ill:

latest from here:

19.941
56.401

running 310. Still about .150 from the goal I set for myself on Monday. I feel like I'm on a rocket just trying to hang on.

HI kenny sorry to hear about the fall bud your lap times was flying for Div3 aswell getting too close to me ;) made me start to worrie lol but take it easy and hope you get back to racing soon

QUIK!

Kevin, I told Kenny just the other day you'd be all over this one! I give it a go every day and get some wicked fast t1's but, that's it, I can't seem to close the deal. One of these days.................:grumpy:

Thanks Ron. Still plugging away at this one, a session this morning has me right on Kenny's back wing. :sly:

Had a mid afternoon session and came up with these. I changed gearing to 320. Keeps me out of 3rd gear a little more.

19.967
55.737

Kenny - Smokin' time there and sorry to hear about your shoulder. :ouch: Doesn't seem fair to keep tryin' to pass you while you are standing still. Hopefully you'll be back to using the wheel sooner rather than later!

I feel your pain on this one Erik, I've had that happen a time or 2 myself. Not that I would ever stand a chance at catching you anyhow.

I had just the opposite happen this morning. I ran a great lap and would have sworn I had a wall touch early but kept at it so I would at least have a fast ghost to chase. I backed out and looked at it in replay theater and I have some nice rumble touches in a couple of corners after T2, but looking at those and loading the lap in the logger, they are nice and clean. :)

So here are my updated splits, although I know I left a little out there and I am still behind Kenny -

20.013
55.976

I'll be back..........

Hey Kevin,
Our times are always so close. It seems that our driving styles are similar also. I know if I could just get a 19.899, T2 would be sweet. That T1 always gets me. I even watched replays from the past race with the Rally car, it looks like I'm doing it correct. Go for the win Kevin..👍

My new splits.

Hi Steven, EDK may want his Faster T2 lap posted for all his hard work, and while we're on the subject Thanks for all your hard work on keeping up with our posts. Kevins split were.

Thanks George! You keep getting faster there. 👍 I've had a couple weeks where I was sweating it out on your last split! :scared: Seems that final sector helps me more often than it hurts (Except against Kenny at Suzuka).

And ditto to the thanks for Steven's hard work. You are a great soldier when it comes to the Luxy updates! ;)

EDIT: BTW Kenny, if you still manage to run some laps, try moving over to the right as you brake and downshift for the sweeper at the top of the hill. (Sorry to all that I don't know the names for all of these corners at Monaco). This gives you a little more track for this corner and you should be able to manage full throttle before a quick brake tap and a little throttle lift to take you down the hill for a nice T1. Looking back at arora's and my rally car replays, the line seemed to be to hug the inside wall in that car, so it's a little different in the F1. I am chasing my ghost around and have a couple faster laps with wall touches. Getting down to 19.6XX on the T1 now. (I'm sure one of those D1 guys with low 19's or high 18's could provide some even better advice.)

Hey guys. I finally got to sit down for round two of runs on this setup. I wasn't going to pull myself away til I got into the 54.xxx t3. After playing pinball for a while, actually longer than a while, I ran a 54.9xx. Saved and reviewed the replay and I didn't notice during the run I pegged the wall exiting the turn right before the tunnel straight. I only had to put in about 5 more laps to knock that time off though. My tentative goal is probably 54.2-54.5xx before the end of the WRS week. If I hit that I'd be pretty happy.

Gearing 330
t1-19.418
t2-54.828

Also sorry to hear about the re-spill there Kenny. The ice around here has been wicked as well after the snows. My gf took a pretty good one straight to her mid-back onto a step the other day. Little did the property management know they were going to get a piece of my mind that morning. Anyways feel better and take it easy on the shoulder.

Yep, I ran the qualifier race and PMed Sphinx with the times, but haven't heard back from him yet.

I'm sure one of those D1 guys with low 19's or high 18's could provide some even better advice.

How to get a 18.7 T1 with 300 gearing:

Start braking for the first corner as you pass by the second to last shadow (at the left wall). Brake to 4th gear and 135 kmh, then go full throttle and avoid touching the curb. I get to 282 kmh at the top of the hill, and I brake for that sweeper just before the end of the hill. Don't let go of the throttle as you brake, also don't use all the braking power and don't get under 130 kmh and 4th gear, and stay to the left side of the white line (being over this line is good for the middle part of the corner). Exiting the sweeper, get as close as possible to the left wall and after you pass it brake for the next turn, again 4th gear and 130 kmh, it might need a bit of throttle control (but just a bit, here it isn't that bad to get wheelspin noise). Don't shift early to 5th gear, I do it at 170 kmh, which is as the downhill part begins.

I hope it helps and isn't very confusing :dopey:

Clear as mud CMir :dopey:

But yeah thanks for the tip, I think I was using 320km/h gearing as well, so that probably wasn't helping my cause :ouch:

20.052 / 55.149 ...

:lol::lol::lol:

One small thing, fellas ... upon checking my replay(s) as it were I discovered that the tyres used displayed RM :scared: front to back and not RSS :scared:
WTF is going on :grumpy:
Anyone else familiar with that problem or is it just me :confused::confused:
For good measure I went back to the Quick-tune menu and doublechecked... and everything according to the race specificatons.

Would be nice to know if it´s a PAL-issue only or if in fact it does occur in the NTSC-version as well.

Cheers, Hekke.

Same here hsh. Just a bug.....? Actually we got Polyphony to try and slow you down. :)

It happens in all versions of the game, the F1 always shows RM on the replays, no matter which tires you choose. I'm not sure of this, but I think we'll run the same laptimes with all kinds of tires because they all end up being RM's. Possibly they even wear all at the same speed during races.

Clear as mud CMir :dopey:

Thanks :sly:  That's what not being a native speaker does to us :ouch:

Hey, I'm new here. I PMed my qualifier time to Sphinx, but... how long till he gets all our messages and puts us in our divisions? I think Xalelexx is in the same boat.

Yeah, I don't think Polyphony bothered to program the F1 car for anything other than R3s. It's annoying that you can still try to choose a different tire, only to discover that they are mediums.

Anyway, my times this week are not very good. Not a fan of Monaco, and trying to throttle control the FGT with a DS2 is a bit difficult. I've at least broken 20 seconds for T1 and 58 for T2, though!
