I took a few test runs with this one and it felt pretty smooth. 👍

I didn't exactly like the new sound for the nsx but seeing my mobil 1 do laps was reward enough.

At full tune the car handles really well but there seems to be an odd "snap" as you lose control (if you lose control).
For that matter, I've noticed some great times up already. 👍
You all don't seem to have the "snap" problem that I have.

Just for the sake of any curious racers... I'm running something like 1'06 at T2. :(
All good though... If I stick with it there will be an update later in the week (still not submitting anything official though  ).

I'll catch you all later on.
Till then,

Kent, I have the same snapping problem that you do. I can't seem to remedy it with changes to my setup. It breaks loose at the entry to the first corner (that hairpin) and if it doesn't break loose there, it breaks loose going into that long right hand sweeper before the tight hairpin before T1 (got that? :) )

Can someone (iceman maybe?) post your setup to see how it compares to mine? I've tried hard springs, soft springs, full dampers, no dampers, mixed dampers. Changed ride height to way up and to slammed. No change. Messed with the differential to no avail. Messed with downforce (took some off the front to induce understeer) and that didn't work. Bumped up the front brake bias and that didn't do anything either.

Can you get back to default?
That really may be the key to getting over the initial hump of this race.

With so many changes in your setup and so little time to have done it in...
Sticking to default for a day and just learning the car will be more important than your setup.

Once you've run with default for a bit try using a slightly modified version based on what other people have talked about in the thread.

Good luck to all of you.
I'm gonna go back and see how I run... Might have a setup later too. ;)

Oh, and I've forgotten.
When I do default, I always go default minus all ASM, stock tcs and for this combo, max DF.

I think I figured it out...well, at least I found a way around the looseness of the Loctite NSX. 💡

I changed to the Castrol NSX (one that doesn't need ballast weight) and it handles fine, even a little bit of understeer (which I can dial out when I get a chance.)

I don't know how the ballast weight system works in GT4 sim mode, but it seems to me that the 70kg of ballast weight was hung on an invisible pole attached to the rear of the car, and the pole must have been at least 20 feet long. That's how the Loctite car handled for me. :ouch: 👎

So, I'm going to run some laps with the Castrol car. I've already got my T2 down to 1:03.2XX. 👍

Had the same 'snapping' problem with Arta, switched to the Raybrig because of the 7Kg of ballast- it is a free tune-up built into the p/w ratio(so it doesn't hurt you if you use it)
found a setup on GTvault

SH 13.0/11.0
RH 65/70
SB 5/7
SR 6/6
CA 2.2/1.2
To -1/0
ST 4/4

Brakes 4/4
DF 45/67
LSD 10/40/10

Tried it and got a better ride with less 'snap'

Dialled out most of it with some minor tweaks (some throttle steering is fun!,whilst still quick) just got to knock the edges off.
Mainly to RH,SH and LSD.

Getting quicker

Seeing 1,05's at T2 and still re-learning the 'new' track dynamics

I know. they changed the track geometry a lot since GT 3. Especially after the first hairpin. the hill there is much more pronounced. The next three corners after that have changed a lot forcing me to re think my line around that section.

The changes that are killing my T1-T2 are the two left's after T1

In GT,GT2,GT3 they were more like one double-apex corner, now the second apex is much sharper, so slower. Now i can't drift the rear out round the next two rights, which in GT3 was by far the fastest way round that complex little run of corners.

Never mind, tracks change and we must adapt.............Bugger!

Look out the bottom of D3!

Here I come!

Stupid LSDs, I hate LSDs!

I skipped school today to get a head start. :P

Lets hope it's worth the hassle I get tomorrow....

EDIT: What a great start! Turns out I don't have any of these cars, and need another 1,000,000 to buy one! I think I'll just B-Spec the El Capitan 200mi over breakfast. I think I'll get the mobil one, for no other fact then I like its colour....

After 5 laps. The start of the lap was pretty good, right up to the first corner. Then things went a bit wrong

33.134
1'05.010

Woooo thanks for taking the understeery civic away from the track! I hated that combo! now its a very nice one. :)

Will make a try in few minutes, and i will post T times here.

Look at my sig and ask me if I'm gonna like this combo. Nice one CFM 👍

BTW The snap oversteer is something I've already noticed at this track, you need to be very smooth under brakes in the Mobil1.

I loved this track back in GT3 but this one feels different and I haven't driven much of any NSX. Looking forward to having a crack though.

Yeah, just had my first go and ended up back-ending the wall on pretty much every corner with my Mobil1. However, the advantage is, that we have 70kg of ballast to balance the car around with.

Anyway, these are some pretty awful spilts as I only did 4 or 5 laps.

T1: 32.7
T2: 1'04.1

I stuffed up the corners right after T1 on that lap, that's why my T2 is so high. I got a T1 of 31.xxx on my last lap, but smashed the car into the side of the tunnel. So I'm taking a break for a while...

Interesting combo CFM, i like tuning weeks as it adds that extra dimension to the game. I will give this a go soon and post a full detailed setup and lap description as usual.

Can anyone tell me the max downforce for these cars? I don't have the money to buy more than one and the '01models look like they would have more from their design changes... Anyone know?

Nevermind, I checked Pat's memory card and they're the same...

Downforce: Max
Suspension:

Brakes:

Transmission:
Did no individual gear changes,
only final to 4.000 and Auto to 14

Limited Slip:
5/5/5

Aids:

I'm testing each car to feel any diff's between them and so far between the Mobil1 and Mugen there isn't much. Will Continue testing.

Honda Mobil 1 NSX '01

T1 - :33.695
T2 - 1:04.686

Honda Loctite Mugen NSX '01

T1 - :32.800
T2 - 1:03.691

The Mugen is faster because I had more practice, they are pretty equal, FYI. Anyone else getting thses results?

EDIT: Well I just ran some laps in the 'older ('00) JGTC's and well they are pretty slow in comparison to the 2 above IMO.

Good post, I'll be sure to try those out.

Did you upload those two 'extra' videos I sent you?

jump_ace, and that's including adding the extra weight for the newer cars, correct? Just making sure.

MAybe 6 or 7 million for all 5 I think. The 917 hp cars are the ones I would focus on.

Lordy ... I really need to get myself another memory card so I can avoid spending days at a time saving the pennies!

Looks like tonight will be spent earning a couple of million and I'll have to stick with 1 or 2 cars and avoid testing them all :(

Get the Mobil or the Mugen, as they will be several seconds faster and everyone will end up using them.

@KLR Yeah thats with the ballasts. THose are 1.350Mil a piece, but like shooter said get only the 917's.

Cool cool. Too bad I just dropped my 1.35 mil on a damn '00!!!!!!!!! I HATE GT4's GAME SAVE! Understand me? Jeezus! Now I need to waste a bunch of time getting that money back for the Loctite... Argh... Oh well, I'm in the middle of the All Japan GT Championship right now anyway getting used to the one I bought. We'll see what I win out of it.

Yeah, these are the moments I enjoy the 1 trillion credits I downloaded. Thank you AR max.

It doesn't matter in the long run though. You guys are still gonna kick my ass. I don't mind trading away my cars, if someone lives in the Toronto area.

Covered 211 km today, very first testing session, i wasn´t liking that much in the firsts km because i felt the car too much furious and oversteery but i solved that with some new settings and etc, and not it looks like very nice.

Im liking this combo, really nice car to drive. I feel lot more improvements yet, but meanwhile i´ve got a very good lap.

It was funny because even with good settings i was like a crazy trying to keep the car on track, mostly like a rally, and my father saw some of the laps and really didn´t understand what were happening. lol :)

Here my t sector times:

T1 - 31.081
T2 - 1'00.383
T3 - 1'xx.xx9

:)
