Thanks for the clarification CFM, I have never seen or used the analyzer though?!? Where is it???

Just load up the race as normal. When you have the screen where you can start, go to quick tune, etc, there is one icon with a graph, and that is it. Once you'll click on it, you'll have to load the lap you want to look at. It's a bit confusing at first (especially without the video screen that GT3 had), just figure out where you are on the track, then use the two analog sticks to zoom in and out, and move your car along the track. you may want to watch your replay first to see how fast you were going at the point in question, so it will be easier to find before you get to the analyzer.

Well thats a bummer dude, I just saw your replay. And yes everyone I am on NTSC, so I dunno what all this crap is about not being able to view PAL replays, you all should try it (I dunno if my chip really makes a difference here people) I too tried a pic of Weary's replay and I would judge it was clean. However, if the analyzer says you dropped speed like that then its dirty, sorry to say Colby. But ur still faster than me!

I quite enjoy this race but that last corner screws me every time...EVERY time!!! I've had T2 splits in the very low 1'19's multiple times but EVERY single lap I hit that wall. "Frustrating" isn't the only "F" word I am thinking of right now...

Man I came to the same conclusion, its like you work your 'tail' off for 98% of the time and you would think to get rewarded for all your hard work, but NO F#$&^#CK NO, you get punished, this is why I don't like these tight courses, its too black and white; hit and miss, its almost random that you ever hit that last turn right, and whats worse is when we first start out and take it before the lap starts, were going slower than when we are actually racing! So we are learning the turn the wrong way! AAHHH!!! This is a tough one boys, time to man up!

Oh how right you are, actually the first or last uphill you gotta learn both ways. Guaranteed I have 10 bad laps to 1 clean one, then when I've done a clean lap 80% of the way I get scared and invariably screw the pooch. But I've bested my target by.500 seconds, which means I'll finish in the middle of the middle division, how friggin boring...

Well i don't know if I'll put any more laps in, I am very close to my limit, here are my new splits:

T1: 0'45.440
T2: 1'19.193

I can get splits like that fairly frequently but from T2 to Finish is destroying me. I know I lost about 0.5 up the back straight seeing as though I took the top corner at 80km/h :guilty: My grandma could take that corner faster in reverse but any time I push it I hit the wall, I'm sure I've chipped enough brick work off to make it wider if nothing else! At least I have a lap now that is fairly quick and 100% clean 👍

LOL, yeah, I can't take that top corner very fast either. I usually end up at anywhere between 75-85km/h. It's tough....

Had my first real session today, spent two hours with the mazda... here´s the first actual splits: (and one of the first clean laps :dopey: )

T1: 45´600
T2:1´19´177

made mistakes that cost me at least a full second through that section, so tomorrow i plan to get to that 1´18.

i found out that i have 3 enemies:

Horrible shocks
Brake-lock
Tire-squealing

this is the "loosest" (if that word exists) car so far in my garage, CFM, you have to agree with me, this suspension sucks! i hope your Miata has a better system 👍

week 18 has been a big challenge for me to do well in a type of car that i don´t like, so i still want to put some time into this to make a good lap...

one more thing... i know my splits are not very good to give people advice, but there´s something i find out while overshooting and overbraking every corner...

in the last corner, before the start of the lap, a big thanks for Hotboi for tell us to use "extraspace"... first i didn´t understand, because, like many others, everytime i tried to go fast, i crashed the wall... so, when you are approaching, AIM DIRECTLY towards that extra space... let go the gas, and turn right next to the turn... there you go, the car goes into a straight line, no chassis movement whatsoever, nad it is easy to get 107-111 at the start... (still didn´t get 113)

so if anyone else is having the same problem, try that 👍

still, i would take ideas on the very first sector... the chicane, and then that big turn that leads to T1... anyone?

@VEXD, i told me to watch a video of a porsche at nurburgring... very nice... a link to that would be appreciated 👍

good laps to all

I do exactly what hotboi suggests for that corner and when I get it right, no prob...over the start/finish at 110km/h. However...I do it "right" 1 in 5 times, so usually I restart my lap 4-5 times before I get through the start of it, then when I get back to that corner at the end of the lap, I'm too scared to try again...that corner is truly cruel.

MisterWeary
@OnlyMe: You are using the wrong car, I'm not being rude, just want to make sure you don't void your lap.

Actually I'm not. I just made a typing error in my post :indiff: Serves me right for not checking twice

Here are some splits I have seen but not done ;)

T1: 0'45.4xx
T2: 1'19.2xx

The lap was also clean up to that point :indiff: :ouch:

What gets me is the last turn before the straight that leads to the Finish...

I can take it at 60mph when I am starting the lap, but when I am coming full speed, it's hard to realize how much to brake...

I will get a clean lap before the deadline, that's for sure :D

Later.

The Wizard.

How are peoples PAL replays verified then?

We don't usually view the races unless we feel they may be suspicious for some reason. We have some reliable PAL drivers that can check things out if we need them to. Basicly, you guys should check out any replays that you have worries about, or ask us to look at it. We don't really have time to check them all every time unfortunately.:indiff:

Splits are going down, but total time went up!! I'll get it right yet, I'm obsessed with getting a super fast clean lap. Damn that last uphill.

45.463
1'19.107

Thanks for clearing that up CFM. I'm new to WRS but I think I know just about everything I need to.
My T1 split is getting better: :)
T1: 0'45.796
T2: 1'20.787
(Need to work on T2 a bit though)

UrsaMajorPrime
And still haven't gotten a clean lap. But I'm not one that seems to be having a problem with that last upill left - I carry it in 3rd gear and cross the start/finish at right around 60mph

UMP

not having a problem? im going up the hill at 62/3 mph across the line at 69/70

T1 - :45.440
T2 - 1:19.471

Initially, its WAY easier to reach 69 at the start, I do it all the time, challenge is trying to do that while your going faster when your actually racing the lap. I had an exact same t1 and I trimmed .3 before t2 and I for once hit the last turn pretty well, looks like you got my act beat randymcchicken..lol. As well as about 6 other D2'ers *sigh* But hey I got a clean lap and I showed improvement on that last turn, so really I am doing better than 2 days ago ;) which is how I like to look at it; bettering myself.

I have NO idea how I did a 1'18.571 T2. I haven't been able to do it again. Probldem is, after that fast T2 I pulled over and had a picnic in the last turn :banghead:

you can see both PAL and NTSC replays with the same PS2??? :odd: :odd: :odd:

Hey all. Ran this combo for the first time today for about and hour and half. Here's what I've found out:

A.) I HATE THIS TRACK, because
B.) I haven't really run it, and
C.) I have no confidence in the car.

Luckily I had one in the garage for some reason so I didn't have to waste money on it :) . I know, cuz the couple of thousand would have really broken the bank :dopey: . Anyway, heres the T-times :yuck: :

T1- 45.426 (saw 45.2xx)
T2- 1:19.192 (saw 1:18.8xx)

Probably gonna submit this just cuz I really dont have any desire to learn the track better or put any more time into it. I could probably get another 0.5 off the time, but it would take a few hours, and then another few hours to get it clean  . Sorry to say CFM but I think this is the first of your combos that I really haven't liked. Good luck to everyone though, and here's to next week  !

I keep finding bits of time every day,if I had amonth I'd be pretty fast.

Hopefully you can show me what you're doing tomorrow, cause I'm still having trouble with this course. This is probably the only track I have run less than 5 times before this week's race, and the only car I have not driven in GT4 yet.

after a long session of learning, new splits:

T1 - 45´154
T2 - 1´18´474

seen a 44´991 and 1´18´270, but dirty laps 👎

big driving school for me, because i had never driven anything with road tires in GT... also, a painful mazda... (i rather think that are better miatas somewhere in the game)

so far, i know that my time is 2´5 seconds behind hot604boi, maybe the biggest gap since i´ve been running WRS seriously... but, it would still put me in a top 10... looks like its hot, holl, veil and cfm... the rest of the pack a bit behind... i´m very curious to see those replays...

maybe i can still take another second of my time, if i don´t crash into that stupid wall in the last turn everytime i´m ahead of my ghost, but... this might be my final time...

well, my condolecense (is that correct?) to all that are heartbroken after crashing into that fu****g wall in the end of the lap, when they were ahead of their ghosts...

Yeah I'm one of those people, I've submitted my lap because I was just hitting that wall every time regardless of how well I was doing, my final lap was great up until that point, then I went into super-safety mode. I suspect a lot of people with similar splits to fly on by at that corner :)

Im actually enjoying this one and dont think the Mazda is that bad, sure it would have been mighty more fun with another car in the 200BHP area maybe, but sure is entertaining, ive really struggled with my splits and am dreading seeing the results list...however my splits are hard to get down but i have made up loads of time in T3 just by getting the hairpin/famous left hander better so hopefully wont be too bad. Thanks for the advice people have posted and thanks for an interesting combo this week.

Hehe, that has happened to me a couple of times. That's the point where your mind comes into play, you're doing a great lap, only one corner to go... Do you go for it or not? I've held back a couple of times and hit the walls, I think it's better to just go for it!

At the moment, these times are pretty much my limit:
t1: 45.656
t2: 1.19.217
(DS2)

Will keep trying though, because I really like the combination. Driving through the back chicanes well is a great feeling!

Well youll be glad to know that iv just got my first 44.XXX t1 and also my first 1.18.XXX T2!!! and it was clean! yay!!

T1-44.999 (i'd of been so pissed off if it was 45.000 lol)
T2-1.18.944
T3-faster but lost time (about .5 i think) being overly cautious on that annoying last bend, passed line around 60 instead of 69

im submitting now,

anyone else want to see the model t on the nurb next week? lol

I can't believe you just brought that up, I only just finished doing a lap around the ring in the Model T, my first drive in my new baby...how very bizzare. I got a 16'26.948...rubbish lap but fun...she drifts alright (I can't believe you mentioned that exact combo :boggled: )
