Fast car this week, on a fast simple track. My times so far
T1 19.580
T2 38.521
T3 59.289
Still have quite a few kinks to work out of this one.

I've done as good as I'm going to and have submitted my time. Really can't be bothered spending any more time with this one and I'm happy with my lap. Hopefully I'll make top 20 this time.

T1 0'19
T2 0'38
T3 0'58

Startin to thrash the wheel nice and good.

T1: 19.770
T2: 38.405
T3: 58.891

Still LOTS of work to be done. 👍

Hopefully I'll make top 20 this time.

When I read this, I thought this dude was kidding...

Then when I get to saw the first week results of GT4, BAM!!! geeze those were lots of drivers that submitted a time, really nice.

Hopefully the joy and dedication will continue on fellow racers when I get in here :)

Bah, I got alot of learning to do... i was more than 2sec off the pace last week. Hoping to get at least alittle more competitive in this race!

Farewell Kent, I havent been here long, but Im sure most everyone will agree that we all appreciate the professionalism and courtesy with which you ran the WRS!
And Welcome to CFM as the new WRS overlord! May your reign be long and...uhh, profitable?

Geeez, this car runs through gears like a motorcycle :D FUN!

Got about 45 minutes of runtime on this track tonight;

20.446
39.133
59.949

Will get lower as I refine my line.

I am very glad to be a part of CFM's cherry popin, kudos to our new ruler of all thing WRS. and farewell to Kent, from what I have seen you keep WRS very fun and oganized. New times
T1 19.625
T2 38.123
T3 58.984
I know I can get another .7 off my total lap time but its putting it all together thats the hard part. To those in the 57s on T3 wow amazingly fast driving skills.

I am enjoying this race very much - way more than I did during the first week ;)

The track is fast, short, and easy to learn. The only complaint: learning the braking points is quite difficult, since there are not many objects/landmarks to be used as references.

The car is awesome as well - I think I have found a nice substitute for what used to be my favorite car in GT3 (Toyota DENSO Supra).

Here are my splits so far:

T1: 0'19.695
T2: 0'38.295
T3: 0'59.022

Oddly enough I managed to get that time within my first 3 laps today, at my second session (I did my first session last night, at 1:30 AM - only 10 laps, just to try it out).

I have spent the last hour trying to improve my time, but I can't seem to keep it together, for tonight.

I will continue racing later, during the week.

Hopefully I will find that extra 0.7xx - 0.8xx here and there, to get a decent time in, for this week.

The Wizard.

Looks like at least I'm sort of on the same times as you guys :

T1 : 38.7
T2 : 59.3

Still a bit of time to make up here and there, that 1st hairpin after the long straight is so important for the rest of the track, as this is where one can lose/gain alot of time ... depending on where your braking zone is for the 1st hairpin ...

This week is not as difficult to get a good time as last week ... but it already feels as if I'm on the limit already !

Another session for me, made a big improvement over my last time so i'm happy :)
I also feel that i've pretty much reached my limit with this combo although it looks like i'm a little bit slower in the T1 than many people.
The key is to stay off the curbs 👍

T1: 0'19.565
T2: 0'37.640 (finally did the hairpin properly. I'm so proud :dopey: )
T3: 0'57.737

DS2, division 2.

Best clean lap so far:-

T1 - 19.638
T2 - 38.073
T3 - 58.281

I love this combo... exactly the same as a license test in Prologue, except that the Woodone doesn't sound quite as good in GT4 (it was amazing in Prologue) but it's quicker in GT4.... gave it about 30 laps last night, but have previously done a couple of hundred in Prologue! Think there is another .4 secs in there somewhere... slightly misjudged the B-curve...

T1 19.707
T2 38.345
T3 58.900

I know I can be faster, but I may not have enough free time to dig out those milliseconds. May have to submit this lap. Good choice for this week!

Yo!!! Man im done already.
I had one of those "It came from Mars!!!" moments with a lap, and its a perfectly clean one, all saved and ready to submit, so im sticking with it for now.

My serious thanx to Crispy Fried Moomin for the combo,

I had been playin gt prologue using a McLaren F1 GTR round Fuji for ages till GT4 came along, and when it did i started using the supra, as its available from the start, so i really didnt need to adjust to much to be quick fairly quickly, if you understand VEXD's English.

What im trying to say is:

T1: 19.528
T2: 37.584
T3: 57.890

Im sooooo happy with that.
There are maybe 7 tenths to 1 full second to pull out of it, im sure we will learn by the end of the week, but i am not gonna pull em.
We'll leave that up to the overheated boy, and the man with no middle. (hot and holl)
You guys are fast!!!!!

Yo Jonny? where do u live? i might have to come round and take the fuses outta your plugs if you carry on making me look slow!!!! Good racing people!!!

Replay to follow the results....

WOW! Nice run VEXD. 👍

Well was able to turn a few laps today after work, and well, not as impresive as yours :P Still getting use to the quick tune set-ups (HP and WGT) in GT4, since just got it 2 weeks ago. Maybe in near future will get them working correctly..

T1 : 21.291
T2 : 40.695
T3 : 1' 03.402

I know I can make up little time still in an area, so will try to work on that later this week. I do have a goal at least in mind. :P

Slowly chipping away at the time, still a bit left to do, 👍 yada yada yada

T1 - 19.756
T2 - 38.330
T3 - 59.358
DFP

At least this week i can see where i need to make up time, last week had me scratchin my head wondering where i could find a few tenths.

Again very impressive early times posted , im sure they will only get quicker :scared:
well done guys .

Thanx man,

Just lookin at your T's, i wanted to add....

Make sure you drop to second gear for turn 1, and hammer the throttle so as to slide your supra's butt round the turn, you should find yourself staring the right way and hitting 19's after that.

That corner, plus the last chicane, are key to this circuit.

Oh, and check out what top speed your car needs to be set to to achieve max acceleration for this course.

The higher the Top speed, the slower the acceleration remember.

Good luck!!
See you at the finish.

Ran a few more laps

T1 19.571
T2 37.512
T3 57.718

I think the times are gonna be realy compressed this week. Already I've had + 0.000 at the final split twice.

I haven't touched the top speed setting yet. What does it do? Give more downforce if you put the speed down?
I don't think it has any effect on the downforce, but rather on the gearbox, like CFM suggested.
It's a kind of balance between acceleration and top speed.

BTW, I'm still using a 350 km/h top speed setting. Anyone else want to share his choice ?

After 10 more laps, I've seen a 19.7 but my best T2 is still in the 39.6 area.
Do you take the long right-hander between T1 and T2 in 4th all the way long or do you shift down in 3rd (as I do not to end in the grass) ?

Shift down to 3rd gear.... I always drift too wide in 4th..., once your clear of the apex you can go back up th 4th before you reach the left-hander. Apart from the first corner (hairpin), this is the one section of the circuit where I was making the biggest gains..., mainly after ditching the 'stay in 4th' idea...

The top speed setting only changes your acceleration and top speed, so more top speed, less acceleration and less top speed will give more acceleration ... set it to top speed of 330km/h for this week I think ... not sure in miles. but on that setting one reaches top speed of about 320 just before hitting your brakes for turn 1.

Remember, to tune a car's gearing one uses the following procedure :

1. Top gear must be set to shortest possible to reach highest top speed on longest straight on circuit (always measure on longest straight).
2. And 1st gear must be short enough for tighest turn on the circuit, then all the other gears must be spaced in between these 2 settings.

Hope this makes sense ... this also probably only applies to Gt mode, where individual gears can be set ...

For the long right hander in between T1 and T2 ...

I think best is to arrive in 4th, then stay as much as possible on the inside next to the red/white strips ... then half way thru one can engage 4th gear and even 5th gear before braking for the hairpin just before T2 ...

Damn it... didn't think about that... the times I've posted were using the max Top Speed settings... :dunce: should be able to improve quite a bit in that case... if you don't mind me asking, what do you have your Top Speed set at?

Also, a quick question, what do those of us without video capture capability do about posting our replays? Is there anything you can do? I don't have a PC at home, or video capture hardware/software anyway, so I don't want to waste ages on getting a good lap time only to be disqualified... Any help?

just contributing, in the lap i did, i used the default top speed setting (340km/h i think, although i think 330 may be faster) i didn't change below third gear throughout, and i used 4th gear for the long right hander. its unlikely that i'll beat it, unless somebody else has a better approach to the lap. cheers, dan.

Firstly.
Set top speed to 330kph.

Then, take that corner in 4th, back off, dab brake, reapply throttle, then select 5th before you reach the crest, brake before you can see the left into T2.

Lastly,

Get a max drive, they are relatively cheap, and work like a big memory card that is compatible only with ps2, and PC.

You stick the max in your ps2's USB socket, then use the software that comes with it to move the replay file from your memory card to your max drive.
then you come to work, or wherever your pc access is, and stick the max drive in the USB there, and then upload it to gtp.
Hey presto.
Theyre around £10-£20 british quidlies....
You can order them, from a store, or go to www.play-asia.com and get one from there.
Lots of threads describe the best place to get one, and i know for a fact they are indispensible if you are serious about racing online.

good luck man, did u see my lap while you were touring? it came from your nearest planet...

Just thought i would add in some T times, Dont have a division yet, but im sure it will come soon.

T1: 19.902
T2: 39.593

Although these t times didnt equate to my fastest overall lap, it shows i have a good second or two at least to improve on my time by the deadline.

Feels good to be racing in the WRS

Update:

Div 3 Racer using DS2.

wat are your braking points into the 1st corner? The first corner is obiously the quickest way to shave a few tenths, though i can only manage a T1 at 19.9
i take the long Right hander in 4th all the way, and a brief stint in 5th before braking into the left. Is anyone else using 3rd all the way through the chicane?

T1 -0'19,908
T2 -0'38'923
T3 -0'59'865 <--- was terrible into the chicane

Interesting combo, never used that Supra, or any Supra in that matter.. Gunna take a bit to get used to.

Congratulations CFM for keeping the WRS alive.

I'll see you on the track Beetches!

EDIT: I'm also wondering. If I ever need to verify my lap times, can I just take a picture with my Camera Phone? I have no way of exporting the video to my PC..Unless I get any help of where I can purchase something to do so.

ok, thought id share my progress, had a chat with VEXD and since that i havnt really done any better laps but my T1 is now consistently in the 19.5 - 19.6x and ive seen a 19.4. T2 is easily able to be under 38, only a matter of time before i string it together :)
