i think i got the most out of this track!!!!

i did around 20 laps in total and on the 13th and 14th i got my best ever times

Lots of good discussion this week 👍 ... I hope I get in another session before the deadline. I'm not a fan of Fuji or Supras, but this is a blast. Nothing like fighting for a few hundredths that might move you up or down a couple of spots in the results!

I was looking around at Max Drives today, and I had a question ... maybe someone here could help me out. EBGames.com has a whole bunch of similar stuff with "Max" in the title. There's two different ones for $29.99:
MAX Drive: USB Flash Drive for PS2
Action Replay Max 16MB

Are these the same thing (just different versions)? Which one should I get (the MAX Drive one is much harder to find)?

Any tips on almost chicane near the end of the track would be great, im bombing big time... Im dropping it into 3rd for the right hander, then 2nd for the tight left.....

Yes, I have the Max Drive and I think that's the one you'll want as well. I think the other one just has a bunch of tarted up stuff thats lets you play MP3's on your PS2 or something. It could have more software for cheats and stuff though, I really don't know.

I think some people have the AR Max which I think is about the same, just comes with different software as far as I know. It may be a good idea to start a thread about these replay devices to answer some FAQ's people may have about them and also to serve as a general help thread.

@ Speedy Samurai - you may want to check Play-Asia.com or whatever it's called as I know several people have ordered devices from there, they may have a NTSC/J specific model. Sorry, I don't know the exact name of the site or the link to it.

After another maybe 12-15 laps I think I'm starting to reach my limit. The car is just too unforgiving for my liking, clip a rumble strip once and immediately lose .5 of a second.

Found a little bit of improvement but nothing major..

But lost some in the last sector. Surprised at finally seeing an improved T3 the last fast right hander caught me off guard.. Oh well.. Still an improvement.. 👍

have just bought a driving force wheel, literally 2 days ago, and spent them re-doing some of the licences to get used to it.
Still not quite there yet!
Just can't get used to the long throw on the padles, on my logitech formula force for pc the paddles are dedicated on/off switches, so react very quickly, these are analogue and take almost full out-in travel before changing the gears- too slow for really fast downshifts!

Any tips, or config changes would be VERY appreciated!

Work is being too much of a pain, so I'm not sleeping well. Woke up hours early this morning, and did the natural thing - got up and raced GT4. I finally put my first laps in for week 2 early this morning. I like the combo, it seems quite a bit easier than El Capitan, it's less technical. I suspect the difference between first and last will be quite a bit closer than last week's time. And the car - woohoo! Gotta get me one of those. I think I've decided on my top speed setting, but I have a little more playing around to do. The bad news is that I think this race track/car combo will suit my son's driving style and he's going to beat me again this week!

Speedy, the website you are looking for is www.play-asia.com and they do have NTSC-J versions of the Max Drive made by Datel. Buy that.

I might have to get some more laps down here to try and keep my position in this race, though i dont know whether i will be able to reproduce the "It came from Mars!" lap i had yesterday.

My friend has an AR MAX and it worked with the replays, but you might need a usb storage device too. This is how his is set up: hooks up psp to the ps2 usb, uploads the replay to the psp, hooks up psp to computer and voila.
I guess with the Maxdrive you simply just plug it into the ps2 usb port and then plug it into the computer after transfering the replay?
Dont have any experience with the maxdrive but that's exactly what he did with the AR MAX.

Nah man, get rid of the df, and get a dfp.

Simple.

I know they cost, and i know its justifying the cost that causes problems, but trust me, you will learn VERY FAST what you have been missing.
Do the license test down the straight on circuit de la sarthe with a dfp, and all will be revealed.

ok, i finally got to do some laps. i have exams coming up at the end of the week so this might be it for me, unless i can get some laps in on the weekend. That is a big "if" though cause i work both, Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

(for luxy's leader board: i am Division 2 and use a DS2. i haven't had enough time to get used to my DFP, not to mention i still have to build something to mount it on.

Yeah well the 2nd half of the tracks my best part, I gain a lot of time on that part.

oh and I made an error on there too. its supposed to be T1:19.502. I just went back and looked at it. Everything else is the same.
