first splits after 22 bumpy laps:

T1: 14´199
T2: 42´373

still getting the proper lines and the braking points, but the car is lovelly to drive, great combo...

brakes are very strong, i just have to remember to not overbrake any turn to not loose the momentum...

gearing at 230, still a lot of time hidden in this one...

First splits:

T1 - 14.273 (saw 14.171)
T2 - 42.568 (saw 42.237)

Gears: 230
Tires: RSS Front/RS Rear

Unfortunately I won't be able to run much this week, tonight and maybe Monday is gonna be all for me, going away for the weekend. I probably lost 0.2 in the last complex by the pit lane, back end got a little loose on me. Damn bumps 🤬 .

If you like a car with a little more oversteer, throw the softs on the back and the back-end really starts to come around. Drifts through corners, sometimes a little more than you'd want, you just have to catch it :dopey: . Works like the GT from last week, otherwise RSS all around and you have the Viper :) .

I can probably get a better T2 by 0.3-0.5 if I just clean up my entrance into turns 8-9 as BTTW has labeled on his track map. I'll try to run more tomorrow, otherwise good luck all, and I'll check in Monday.

Just had my first go at the combo. Very nice car to toss around, and the track is more technical than first appearances! Nice choice CFM! 👍

Looks like we're in for another good competition this week.

First splits with 230km/h gearing

T1: 14.211 (saw 14.016)
T2: 42.063 (saw 41.834)

Seems to be a bit of time to be had yet. Still haven't figured out all the lines and braking points. It looks like a bit of needle threading and steady nerves will gain a bunch of time.

Did not have a good showing in the viper, mid 16 so hopefully i will do better this time around. Have not run Opera Paris in months so this should be interesting. Pending a decent lap time I will be on the leaderboards for the first time :nervous:

Whoa. First time seeing this week's challenge and we're already on page 4. Looks like a great combo. Nothing like a European ride with European scenary. I'm going for top spot (in Div3) this week.

Even if I said I wasn't going to run any more laps tonight, I had a quick session while I was waiting for the results for week 19 to be posted.

T2 is slower (by 0.050), but I improved my final lap time by 0.100.
Still working on T1, mainly that's what's slowing me down. I think I have the section T1-T2 covered.

Oh, I forgot to mention:
I am using #33, the black one - I guess I am not man enough for the pink one ;) :D

Going to bed...

The Wizard.

I had a 2.5 hour session now, i can see more 0.5 or 0.6 just dunno i didn´t break the second barrier, maybe im alittle sleepy(4 am) and so i will try again tomorrow.

T1 - 0'14.190 had twice on 13.9xx
T2 - 0'41.667 maybe a total of 0.4 or 0.3 until here
T3 - 1'1f.ast :)

will give this one a go soon, and dont think ur safe out there miles in front hotboi, i will hunt u down like a wild dog!

I will try to "tag" along as well :sly:

Edit
Scratch that last comment

14.357
42.594

Lost time everywhere :ouch:

At least its a clean lap though :dopey:

After 10 laps, i managed:

T1: 14.276
T2: 42.376

This was a clean lap, but i spotted a whole load of places where i can save time, i just have to wait and see whether i have the time to run the course and get the braking, and turning in points correct, or whether i run out of time, and have to submit something that Lewie can beat easily.

I have a new found relish for the WRS and this combo will help.

The kerbs are a little high and bounce you off, reminds me of a local kart circuit where you're penalised for running them because of their height, but i'll get used to it.

Im on 240KMH top speed.

Am i wrong?

:irked:👍

had a quick stab at it and didnt do much at all, not sure but i think the ds2 sucks this week!

will try it soon with the dfp and get some competitve splits
t1 14.231
t2 42.060

Pretty ordinary splits for me, but this is where I'm at right now:

T1: 0'14.402
T2: 0'43.827

I really struggle with hard braking cars, it just seems that I always get on the brake for too long and lose my momentum, I have the line for the whole track sorted (I think I do anyway) but I gotta learn to go easy on the brakes.

Oh, I tried the "manly" pink one but it just felt wrong :sly: and since I'd recently put a lot of work into obtaining the black one I'm using it all week 👍

That's the spirit, MisterWeary 👍
Let the so called "real men" drive the pink one ;) :odd:

Anyway, just to not be completely off-topic, I will put some more laps in tonight.
I will post some splits when I get a decent run.

Hello guys! It's my second week in the WRS...and i"m loving it! I really like the Camaraderie between you guys....helping each other out with the setting and lines....very nice!

Now for this week combo....I've always loved the Clio Race car; great handling, great braking, good looks (fat and wide...:) )....an overall good balanced car...

The track...welll what can I say...I love it...its so fun going around this track very fast with the DFP (and it really make use of my arms...lots of steering action)...still get the chills in certain spot...

also very technical... (with lots of bumbs...)

anyways here are my first night splits:

T1- 14.550
T2- 42.890
(DIV-2 / DFP)
(230 Km/h gearing)

There still lots to improve, but to get everything perfect like the div 1 guys, I dont think will happen...I should be able to get a bit faster thought...

So am i wrong then?

With 240 gearing i mean.

I found that to be the closest to flat out, but i didnt dare go as low as 230, cos i was topping out, or at least i thought i was, on the end of the straight.

hmmmmm......

I spose i'll try 230 later, and see what i think.

But for now, im stuck at work.

Have fun peeps, will check in soon.

Good luck everyone.

:odd:👍

Now I remember why I hate this track - those damn bumps are sh***ing me. Looks like a very bad finish for me this week but if I keep at it any longer I think I'll put the PS2 through the front of the TV.

T1 - 15.337
T2 - 45.097
Div 3

let me just start by saying that i'm finding this race a real challenge and thats what i enjoy most about the wrs.
i aslo enjoy the competativeness and the thrill of maybe beating someone who beat you the week before. i've made lots of friends on this site. i've finally begun to feel respected as a driver (be it not a fast one!) and a GTP member.
its with alot of consideration that i've decided to air my unhappiness in this thread instead of personally to CFM.
i realise your busy Todd with the BC and stuff, but i feel crushed at your descision to move people up a division without verification of times.
this part is in capitals for a reason....
THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THE DRIVERS WHO HAVE BEEN MOVED TO D2.
its more a battle for respect for those of us in D3.
i realise in the whole scale of things us D3'ers are ants in GTP compared to the fast cats in D1, but why should that mean we dont deserve to be treated by the same standards??
Casio has shown in posts that he is a fast driver, but if that is considered the same as proving it with a replay, why bother with divisions at all??
i dont think i'm the only driver in D3 who works hard every week to try and better my time, standings and skill every week in the wrs. but it seems that isnt needed anymore. instead, i'll pretend i've done well, constantly give a faster time and just know that sooner or later that will be all i need to finally get rid of the dreaded D3 in my sig and change it for a not so shameful D2.
how can we keep things fair if we're not all treated by the same expectants and rules? and Todd how can you possibly decide who gets treated by which rules?
casio does deserve to be in D2, but the rest of us D3'ers deserve to be treated by the same regulations too.
Casio, i consider to be a valued competitor and friend, and i'm hoping that because of that, he wont see this as anything personal. but if he shares the same respect for his fellow drivers, then he will adhere to the set out rules and prove he deserves to be in D2 with a replay.

thank you for reading. i dont want to start a turf war.
and Vexd, stop scrutinising my spelling mistakes.

amen.

All division winners and even top 3 should be made to verify, i dont understand why Division 3 is made to be different to the other Divisions.

T1 14.421
T2 42.859

Having a lot of fun with this one! 230 speed...

I'll have another go soon...

@ The Wiz!

I am using 230, so, i believe, is Hot and Only me.
Don't think, with a quick scan of the thread, anyone else has said so!

220 is too short,
240 is too long in some of the corners.

Getting close to the rev-limiter on the straight, but not quite hitting it.

And can stay in 3rd for the whole of the final section ( ie right/left/left/right/long left onto the s/f )
That is turns 13-17 on my slightly misslabeled map! (haven't had time to update it today, nevermind)

Laters, off to play pool

Neil

@ Wiz and Vexd:

I agree with the above. Started out using 230 at the suggestion of hOt, found it pretty good. Tried less than that and you redline before the end of the straight so...230 km/h it is.

Just got the Clio and had a few laps, agree with the 230 gearing, T2 of 44.9xx but lots to do.....

with 230 gearing, i do max the rpms on the straight

but its exactly when i need to brake, so it all works out

looks like veilside is gonna put up a challenge this week, i better get the .2xx i left on track

Updates

T1-14.768
T2-44.124 (have seen 44.006)

I tried with the 240 gearing. also what gear (2 or 3)are you guys in going through the r/l/l/r before the back straight? I am using second but had to shift to third before the hairpin left. I'm gonna try the 230 next.

.053 improvement over my last time, with a t2 slower by .264

0'14.020 (seen a 0'13.852)
0'41.684 (seen a 0'41.386)

I finally hit some laps today after hunting down and winning the Clio Cup. It would figure they would give me the Pink one. :yuck:

Anyway, my times:
T1: 0:14.822
T2: 0:44.360
(fastest 0:44.250)

More to come.

With the little amount of time I've put in so far, I wouldn't expect much better right now:

@230 top speed

T1: 14.271
T2: 43.709

This is a lot like Citti di Aria, there is so much time to make up. It's a matter of finding it during AND being 100% clean.

No harsh feelings mate, I know what you mean.

I really do want to provide a replay, because yeah, I'm pretty much sick of everyone saying I just make times up and what not.

I was quite shocked when Ursa Major Prime, informed me that CFM had promoted me to D2, I seriously thought I was going to be in D3 forever. Which is no bad thing, I love D3, to me it's more then just a Division.

I really don't want people to think that I am fake-posting my way up divisions. What is the point of that anyway? There is no physical benifits you get out of it, you don't get a huge medal or large cheque from it.

Personally, I don't really care what Division I am in. If I'm in D2, that's ok. If I'm in D3 that's fine as well. When I'm sitting down, and racing, trying to shave off hundredths, I really don't think about what Division I am in. I don't have any shame in having a D3 tag, that's respective of how fast I am and where I qualified, I'd feel much more shame having a fraudulent D2 tag that I didn't earn.

If it's alright with CFM and Kent, I'd like to stay in D3 until I get a replay device together, I don't want to be an exception to the rule. That would set a precedence that anyone could make up any time and be sent to D2, which isn't fair on anyone who puts in great proportions of their time for this, only to be beaten by someone who posts a time the did not achieve.

Anyway, on a lighter note. It's great to see you back EX, we havn't spoken in a while.

I did some laps this morning. I love this race, it has been my favorite so far!

T1 - 14.312 (saw 14.1)
T2 - 43.003

I want to cut about 1.5 seconds off this week to get where I want. I think the key to this track for me is the left kink on the back straight, which I have taken flat out ONCE, and ended up in the wall many more times...
