Man this car feels every bump :yuck: could go soo much faster if it was a smooth track.
finally got a clean run in 👍

14.375
43.383

there is a little time to be made, but need lots of time to get it.

Looks like we'll be eating HOT's asphault again on this one. 👍

It looks like I'm going to have a lot of time this weekend, seeing as the hurricane's going to keep me inside all day. Which is good because I need a ton of practice this week.

@Luxy…Casio and I are in Div. 2 now. If it's too difficult to change then don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure everyone knows anyways.

We better get going and change our signature then so people know!

Hurricane....if there was ever a better excuse to play GT4 I'm yet to hear it...

And I look forward to continuing our battles in D2!

T1 - :14.179
T2 - :42.999

First run after about a half hour, I really bombed T2 I need to pick up about .5 there alone.

EDIT: Another half hour and I really am having trouble duplicating my last T1 time, and of course now that I have a little better control in T2, my plits haven't improved much....*SIGH* but here they are:

T1 - :14.470
T2 - :42.943

So back to T1 I guess...hhmmm.....I know I can get another .3 in here somewhere, just gotta find it

Hey Jerome..........Buddy!

Guess who is driving that black Clio about 1 car length in-front of you for a change, instead of behind? ( and please gentlemen and ladies, decorum!) LOL

The back's better, the track is tight, and technical, the cars a beaut!

Neil

Yo Neil Wut Up Buddy?! Here's my new splits after about 3 hours on this one. I'm really happy with this lap, I really only need to trim another .1 or .2 in T1 and another .1 or so towards the end, but for my first day I'm VERY pleased :) Again the ()'s are my goals for each 'T'.

Jump_ace try 230kph setting, you must be for sure hitting the rev limiter at the end of the straights.

230 eh? I am hitting the limiter just as I brake, but I see many people have done 230 so Ill give it a go, what the heck right? Thx for the tip Small_Fry's!

jump_ace

I' running 240, it works for me. I'm still trying to get a consistant start!! Time comes off very slowly on this track. Dropped about .15 sec.

14.600 (saw 14.2)
43.130

IDIOT EDIT: I didn't drop anything, I gained! I'm very proud of myself..aaarrrggg

Well, I have a collection of T1's and T2's that should make me happy, but unfortunately just a few of them granted a lap time that was better than my previous one - and only by 0.2-0.3 at the most :indiff:

T1's: 14.5, 14.4, 14.3, 14.2 (seen all these plenty of times)
T2's: 43.0, 42.9, 42.8, 42.7, 42.6, and 42.5 (seen all these quite a few times)

Unfortunately, every time I had a sub 43.0 T2 I would blow it at the following fast left :ouch:

Well, the week isn't over yet, so I will manage a good lap by the end of it for sure 👍 :D

The Wizard.

Ran a few lap last night, the first set of corners were slowing me down. I read Small_Fryz and KLR's write-up ^^ and will try that tonight. The other section giving me grief is turns 9 and 10. Hopefully will improve a lot this weekend.

Anyways, here are my current splits:

T1: 0'14.736 (seen a few 0'14.6xx)
T2: 0'43.923 (seem a few 0'43.5xx)

Having a blast though. :D

For anyone who is able to get into the 0'42's at T2 I don't suppose you'd like to provide a detailed guide of T1-T2??? It's kicking my a$$ Here's how I've been doing my laps, perhaps someone could just point out where I'm off in my run down:

  • Usually hit the start/finish around the limiter of 4th gear, I brake early down into 3rd and focus on getting a good line through the next chicanes, with a good line you can power almost the whole way out with a nifty gear change on the second apex, I usually have to touch the brakes on the last right to make sure I take it tight though

  • I brake for the next corner right on the 50m marker and brake straight for a little bit then power through the left-hander in 4th gear. This should give you a T1 of 14.2 - 14.5

  • For the next corner I usually brake at the second pedestrian crossing from very right and drop it into 4th gear and cruise with very low RPM's around the next left/right with the main goal being to set up a good line to power through the next right/left combo with a good exit speed

  • This next right/left is quite possibly my undoing. I usually brake just after the pedestrian crossing into 4th and when I've poked my nose around the next right I power for a split second before braking hard into 3rd and powering out of the left

  • For the next left hairpin, the exact brake point is tricky to ensure a tight turning circle but I brake down into 2nd gear and power out and usually change into 3rd just before the apex of the exiting right hand corner. This usually gives me a T2 of 43.2 - 43.6

  • This next slight left kink has already been discussed but I usually tap the brake right at the pedestrian crossing before the corner and it seems to point me right and result in very little tyre squeal.

  • You should hit the limiter if you're using 230km/h down this next straight and I usually brake BEFORE the pedestrian crossing but not too far left because there's a very cruel bump that'll pop you out if hit wrong. Down into 3rd gear for this next right-hander

  • For the next left-hander I usually change down to 2nd but it's probably not necessary. You're now back at the start .

Hope it helps somebody 👍

Hey peoples, I haven't been on the leaderboard for quite some time , so I thought I will submit my 1st splits so far ... I never thought that a track could have such hectic bumps in haha, never actually realised it before !

T1 : 14,572
T2 : 43,000

I've seen a 42,8 but that was a dirty lap :yuck:, got tired of trying last night and played S.A. haha :dopey: Last 2 main missions ! :dopey:

I just did my last run as I'll be away this weekend. I got a T1 of 14.2, but was .2 off my best T2, I still managed to cut .25 off my time, If I drop another .5 I'll be happy. Although then I'll be painfully close to the next second barrier that I probably won't get...

For the T1-T2 Run, just studied my lap and is as follows.

Chicane after T1 I take in third and power down in the middle of the L/R, then 4th gear change for the flat (Depending how wide and stable you are) R/L combo.

The next stupid R/L is a pain, because of the bump, sometimes I use the bump to get a slight drift, but normally I brake not from the left but the right of the track just before the RHS blue/white strip, down to second, get as close to LHS wall as possible on the exit which is flat.

I keep it in second for the hairpin, power down about half way to tuck the nose in so you're wide enough to take the next corner flat in 3rd.

(Fastest T2: 42.6, Average 42.8)

Kink can be taken flat, but I let off slightly on this lap just before the LHS apex. Hit the limiter (230 gears), and brake slightly early at 50 sign, to get the power down early (3rd gear in this corner), so you're wide enough for a good line in the next left.

Next Left taken in 2nd, if you got good exit you should get a quick change into 4th before the final L/R chicane, which are taken in third. The final turn I take in 3rd and my lowest speed is 62mph, change to 4th on the way out.

I'm sooo out of whack from not touching GT for 5 wks. :grumpy: Awesome combo though, ran like 20-30 ****ty laps before coming up with.....

T1: 14.234 (had a fluke 14.088, no clue how that happened)
T2: 42.483

Thanks Dion and Kyle for the tips on the first 3 corners. 👍 👍 I'll give it a go later tonight. I think that bump is giving the problem as I seem to bounce my way to the outside wall. :irked:

@hOt6o4bOi, am I missing anything you need on our site? I can't seem to remember, perhpas just last weeks replay right?

@veilsidebr, I just need to do your Nurburgring replay and were caught up right?

Just let me know guys, I will catch up on whatever you say I'm behind on this evening :)

Oh, and yeah I like how this week is actually organized into divisions, strange but atleast we know we are in our right groups (except Casio needs to be D2 IMO) Nice work guys!

Enjoying this one, splits so far of

14.892
43.4xx

Im getting an exit speed of 136mph on the fast left at the end of the straight, thats 136 at the wall, you know the one you stack into when you get the left hander wrong! Does this speed sound about right?

Need to make some time up through the t1 section which may bring me into the 43.0 and under brigade, but really got no idea of how much quicker i can go, about 1 lap in 10 is neat and tidy.

Has anyone else noticed that the replays are much smoother than an actual driven lap. I got my fastest time and viewed it in car straight away and it looked so much smoother than from when i was actually driving it...is there some sort of processing going on here??

cheers

Dave

Had a 2 hour run last night. I usually only get an hour in at a time, and I beat my previous fast lap by 0.3" in about 15 minutes as is normal. Then usually it's downhill for 45 minutes until I have to give up. Last night though I kept seeing hints of progress so I kept in it (way past my bedtime) and FINALLY after a couple of quick (but slower than this one) and frustratingly dirty laps, came up with this:

T1 14.116
T2 42.172

Segement 1 was a personal best, segment 2 and 3 were off by a tenth or so from personal bests in dirty laps...

WHEEE!!!

Probably can squeeze out another tenth or two hopefully...

Haven't fallen asleep that happy in, well, let's not go there...

;^)

Scott, ur brining the heat for sure man way 2 go! What is your secret to hitting 14.1? I did it ONCE and can't seem to get it right again, I'm hitting 14.3 pretty consistent, those are great splits!

jump_ace

Seems i am going to have to put some time in tonite, after all! :)

Nice times guys! 👍

Secret? None really. I regularly see 14.2's and I just went that little bit faster this time. My only tip is to get as far left as possible at the S/F line and start your turn in early and left foot squeeze the brake at the first right just hitting the curbs with like 1/2 a tire, then possibly settling the car a bit with another small squeeze of brake to clip the left curb with a 1/2 tire, then repeat on the right then balance the car on the exit on gas. Don't hit the bumps or you spend more time flying than putting down power.

Brake for the next fast left well after the gear indicator flashes and you're there.

I need help being more consistent in sector 2 and 3 personally.

-Scott

I see, I'll do just that, only on my ds2 controller...lol. Using my feet might not work...*SMART @$$* So what speed are you carrying thru that sharp left after the beginning chicanes? I'm trying to keep it at 73 or so, I brake just after the 50m mark and I usually straddle the rumble strips too. I once AGAIN can't wait till later to do some more work, although those splits are VERY nice I can't guarantee I can match them, but KLR probably could. Speaking of, where u at dude?

jump_ace

No where *near* anybody that's even posted yet - put's me bottom on the leaderboard, but:

T1: 15.683
T2: 45.924

I thought I was doing ok until I checked the leaderboard - oy, I'm gonna need quite a few more laps this week...only put in about 10 so far (had to go win the frickin' car first!)

UMP

<edit> Ok, just checked the board again, I'm closer than I thought...

Just done 20 laps or so, and no improvement :ill:

Not getting into the groove, so giving it a rest for the night!

Good luck to all, maybe if i have to play more catch-up again........?

Neil

Well, 0.3 improvement at the finish line.

Splits:

T1: 0'14.3xx
T2: 0'42.880

Can't quite get that 0'42.5xx I had in a dirty lap once :indiff:
I will do another session tonight...

The Wizard.

Slowly improving but I get the feeling this is not gonna be a good week for me:

T1: 0'14.518
T2: 0'43.085

Sigh...
