Still have not ran anymore laps, and I see I just keep dropping farther back. This is not going to be a good first week in Div 2 for me.

I finally got a half way decent run in. Not quite reached my goal yet, but I think this will be my final time.

T1: 0'14.268
T2: 0'42.246

I have seen better times in both sectors, but I could never do the final section as good as I did it in this run...

Sounds like I'm gonna have to try that kink without any brakes....interesting, but possible as I have been schooled on how to do it....thx Scott! LOL.

jump_ace

EDIT: Well I tried some laps with little/no braking and I trimmed another .3 or so. So I'm liking it, I know I can get another .2 and that should put me right up there with SHig, I'm HOPING....

jump_ace

Well, I'm still not going through with no brakes though I have managed to do it in the past. I'm still more consistent and can still hold 130/131 mph NOW with just a dab of left foot braking.

Got in some more time and at first I thought my most recent time was a fluke but then I got back in the groove at bettered my time by almost 0.2". Better make that 0.4 Ace!

T1 14.107
T2 42.146

I can actually still see more time out there, but I'm a bit in the doghouse for playing as much as I have this week.

ack... i finally got some time to play this yesterday, and those first 3 turns are killing me.
T1 - 14.550
T2 - 43.060

You say they're killing you, I can still barely manage a low 15.xxx at T1 and you're nailing it a full one second faster, pooooor baby! :banghead:

spent 20 odd laps chasing my best clean ghost, didn't get any closer than .1 behind.

So giving up for the night and gonna kill some bad guys to get rid or frustration!

Grand Theft Auto?
That's what I do too, when I am pissed at the world :D

Na, never liked the format.
I'm more of a first-person shooter kind a guy. Ex forces and all that!

Played most titles, and drag the oldies out for a change sometimes.
Only play them on the pc too!
Mouse and keyboard has been the best way to play them since castle wolfenstein, more accurate.
And anyone who says that Halo on the x-box proved that the 'pad' was the way to go, has clearly never played RTCW or all 3 Splinter Cell's or even Halo on a pc using a mouse

At the minute i'm using Half-life 2(played it thro 5 or 6 times), using some cheats now seeing that i'm just using it as stress relief!

BLOODBATH + zombies + aliens + cool weapons with infinite ammo!

It's so much fun! LOL

welp... i gave this a second chance but the thought of running even one more lap makes me throw up in my mouth a bit. so i submitted my final time.
14.284 | 42.719 | ????

ack... this would have been so much more fun if it wasn't in arcade mode.
the car is good, the track is good, but the default settings are horrible.
i know i left a full second on the track but i'm totally unwilling to go through the frustration of chasing it... the car is just so unreliable and inconsistant.
laptimes are so erratic its painful to watch a replay.

Ok i gave another 1 hour and half shot and i think i´ve chased my limit. I guess 0.1 or 0.15 left, no more for me at least.

T1 - 0'14.061
T2 - 0'41.361
T3 - 1'1S.LOW :)

I will submit it as it seems i won´t have my computer up tomorrow, so in case that i don´t have it here tomorrow, my time will be already submited.

Good luck to you all guys. 👍 :dopey:

it seems alot of you guys arent understanding the true technique of
"curb hopping"

you gotta keep in control about how hard you launch, because you want the smoothest landing

-which basically means, you cant overpush on curbs, bumps

I think I've had enough of Paris, Clio's and this week's race. Paris is a nice city - race through it is not :D Never liked Clio's that much either...

I might (note - might) give it another run tomorrow, when I'll come home from university, weather (and power) permitting. But if I won't come close to my current best lap time within the first 10 laps, then I am going to submit - whether that means reaching my goal or not. I am to the point where I just don't care anymore about the French Revolution. I am not much of a history guy anyway ;)

Wish I had a machine gun, a Clio parked in front of my apartment and lots of bullets - and a nice rocket launcher to finish it off :D :sly:

New splits:

#3 Clio (Silver/Grey)
Gearing @ 230

T1 = 0'14.424
T2 = 0'43.314

It seems I am loosing most of my time from T1 to T2. I am managing the fast left after T2 between 208 and 210 km/h.

It looks like I need to run quite a few more laps before tomorrow to save some face. :)

Later 👍

I am so unhappy with myself, just threw away a 42.4 T2...

I think I would have got to where I was aiming this week with it...
I hate that stupid KINK!

I'll have one last go tomorrow, hopefully my first week in D2 doesn't end up a bad one....

I've completely lost faith in my driving ability...I've spent as much time on this task as I have in past weeks and I have exactly **** all to show for it!

Here's my best lap:

T1: 0'14.570
T2: 0'43.239

I'm embarrassed and severely p***ed off. I've seen 0'14.2xx many times at T1, I've driven 28.2 seconds from T1 to T2 a few times, I've seen 0'42.6xx numerous times at T2 and plenty sub 43's but not once, not even ONCE have I beat this disgusting pathetic lap listed above...

At one point I was totally in the zone and my dodgy controller decided to play up at exactly that time, so down all the straights it would veer off to the right, I switched the analog controls around...same thing! So I promptly destroyed the ****ing thing!!! Although smashing it against the tiled floor gave me some immediate relief, my new controller and the release of my frustration didn't make my driving improve...

Am I a pathetic driver? I hope not. Am I the only one having this much trouble this week? It feels like it. Do I have anger management issues? Yeah probably...but what can you do.

:(

its not your fault... the car is setup for a smooth track, not a bumpy and slick street circuit. It bottoms out several times without even hitting the kerbing. It needs a higher ride height, softer shocks, softer sway bars, to make it more civalized. And a bit more camber to get rid of that nasty throttle on push and poor direction changing.
The car doesn't behave different every lap... its different every friggin corner.

i remember hitting a kerb @ 50mph, it sprung up so high, all i saw was clouds, then it was caught by gt's roll-over forcefield. the car is wound tighter than robin williams.

Well, after a lot of playing about 30 laps :)

T1: 14.5xx
T2: 43.573 (first time! only done it once) :indiff:

STUFFED UP AFTER THAT!! i didnt hit walls but my braking sucked after the end of the high speed straight!!!
and that completely destroyed the time i could have been heading for!! :ill: :yuck: :nervous:

On the bright side.. there isn't any, i dont like this track!! :grumpy: 👎

:P

i´m still 1´1 seconds away from the time i want...

its not going to happen really... maybe some laps tonight, but don´t think its going to change all that much... funny that i can run 42´4 in my first lap on the track, but still, with 20 laps or so, i can´t have 41´s...

i´m attacking the curbs in the wrong way, i know...

maybe some news later tonight, but for now...

well i'm glad someone has missed me!!!! :)

and i'm glad i didnt upset anyone with what i posted!!!! :)

time submitted. hope i've done well. had plenty of time on my hands so done lots of racing!! 👍

have to say tho, that if a replay is needed from me i wont be able to submit one.
vexd is no longer able to veryify my times so it may just be best if they're ignored!! :grumpy: :(

good luck to everyone tho! 👍
see ya next week!!!!

Best lap:
T1 - 14.056 just happens to be my best ever t1
T2 - 42.582 my only split under 43.3...lol
T3 - soooo much better than before, and i beat my target! 👍

Hmmm, so far I've only managed to do one serious session with around 20 laps. A shame because I really love the track and the car! I'm currently at work, going through the thread to see if there are any tips available. Tonight I'll have to go around a second faster than my current best to have a decent D3 time. We'll see how it goes...

Finally, good luck to everybody involved in the bad weather situation in the US! 👍

This combo is kicking my a$$!!!!! For the first time, I'm considering whether or not to even submit my time :grumpy: I'll give it one more shot tonight but I'm ready for something new.

@EXelero: I agree with what you posted.

Why are people considering posting their time or not...depending if they are good or not on that week...doesn't that goes againts racing with each other....i dont understand...

...whats better: a guy with a 100% win ration, but with only a few participated races...or a guy with 75% win ratio but he raced all of them...

i would chose the second option...I mean, we're competing against each other for the fun of it, but, also, to determine who's the best...If you dont send your time to compare them because you're slow that week...it doesn't work

you cant always be on top!

If people always do that, we should almost have a participating ratio as well...lol

My two cents...

NiC

You're absolutely right Niclorin! Don't know what I was thinking. I guess the bumps have rattled my brain  I'll submit my time no matter what it is :yuck: There's always next week 👍

I finally got to run a few more laps, and I actually saw some fast progression. Within 8 laps, I had dropped more than 1 second off of my final time. I'm still not 100% happy, but it at least gives me something respectable to submit.

T1: 14.498
T2: 42.803

The best part was my T2 was only .3 faster, but my final time was more than .7 faster!!!
