Well that is encouraging. Did you send it back and ask for a new one? Maybe you just got a dodgy CD. Or doesn't work with unofficial memory cards, or something, I don't know.

I think I will try to get one when play-asia has them in stock (Which is pretty never), all I need to do is round up a credit card. The ones on eBay Australia are ridiculously over priced.

But killing my memory card doesn't sound good, I was starting to think about getting one because I've only got 300kb left on my 4th memory card. I really don't want to buy another memory card, I can't keep track of what's on what at the moment!

Hi Casio,

Well I have used it thruout the WRS (copying replays etc.) but what I did was I deleted a few replays thru the Maxdrive software from the memory card ... after that it bombed out and when I rebooted the PS2, it showed "no data" on the memory card, but in the Maxdrive software it shows 2 replays of WRS ... weird, but I tried my Mem card on another PS2 and it shows "no data", so the card is stuffed ... maybe it was coincidence, cause it's been my 1st card ... had it for 3 years now. I got mine from Play-Asia.com ...

All I can say is that the whole Maxdrive thing is really a cheap-a$$ design ... the software and the USB thing itself is all el-cheapo ...

In any case, thank for the sympathy haha, enjoy your racing this week buddy ! 👍

Darn, I use the software... Looks like i better go back up my files! Go casio! you are kicking @$$ mate! very well done on the splits! man u killed my splits, and ran it over with a dumptruck for good measure 👍
Keep this up... I'll be seeing you shortly in the big dog's yard! :P

I had problems with the MaxDrive corrupting files on a 3rd party mem card, so I only use it with the Sony mem cards and it works fine. :) Doesn't help the lost files, but at least for the future...

My Maxdrive software decided to kill my memory card ... bye bye 90 % GTA S.A. save ... bye bye all game saves ... card shows as "no data" in PS2 boot-up Browser ... nice ... that Maxdrive software is the crappiest piece of software I have EVER seen ... sorry for going off-topic, but I will only race in like 2 weeks maybe.

Enjoy guys and girls !

the first thing i did when i got my armax was dump my entire mem card to my pc for safe keeping... if you had a backup device, why not use it to make backups?
but yes... the software is dodgey and incredibly cheesey. people only pay money for it because there is little other options available.
the only other options i know of is to chip the ps2 so you can use exploits to copy the mem card. put in a hard drive, (the best solution... but expensive) or get one of the cumbersome memory card readers ( like this one )
too bad interAct got bought and killed by gameshark. i would have loved to see something as quality as the dexdrive available for ps2.

anyway.... [/offtopic]

i did the exact same thing, deleted from the maxdrive software
and it ended up wiping out my card

but i fixed the card, by re-formatting the memory card in the maxdrive software

Casio
I'd like to thank Small_Fryz, into persuading me to have a shot at manual.

Within 3 laps I beat my time I has taken me 2 days to get.

T1 - 40.684

However, I did stuff up the hairpin after T1, as such, I only beat my final by about .05.

@MisterWeary: You'll get me in the end I know, it always happens to me. I better not pick on you to much, we might be JGTC teammates!

JESUS H **&%$!!!! You were running these splits in AUTOMATIC???

You better go get yourself that maxdrive, buddy ;)

I have corrupted data on my card. I didn't see an option on the Maxdrive software to format but I'll surely look now! I just ordered a Datel 32 MB no-boot-disk drop in replacement card. Hope it works, cuz it'll sure be nice to have that much memory on one card... Although it might be more memory to lose! LOL!

I dunno about this...according to the leaderboard there is a D3 guy beating you.

Sounds to me like a demotion back to lowly D2 is imminent. Don't get comfortable up there. :mischievous:

New split:

T1: 41.148

Finally getting close to approaching getting the hang of this week. :) Had a few 40.9xx but threw them away at Spoon.

Wow amazing what looking at a thread can do, i've had a sudden urge to do this. :odd:

Both dad and I have a 16mb version each.

Only problem was you cannot create a new save on it with GT4 as GT4 times out when it trys to create it, you have to use a 8mb card then use maxdrive to copy from the 8mb to the 16mb/32mb. Once the save is on the card there is no more problems and save time is just as long as the 8mb card.

Arrr but at the moment I can not verify.
It's really starting to terrify!
I've heard Maxdrives are heaps of S#*T
But play-asia is out of stock, so I can't even buy it!

This week is really quite fun!
I keep going to have 'one more' run.
My car must have been given red bull, it seems to have wings!
Or maybe it's just an Australian thing....

Well, I had a quick run at it tonight.

41.646

I have to submit this time, I'm going out of town for two weeks on Saturday and tomorrow is booked solid. Oh well. Good luck to (almost) all.

Sorry, I don't get this -->
"STOCK Arcade Tune, +0% HP, -0% kg: (388 HP, 1825kg)"

Does that mean I have to dial the car to this hp and weight? or set hp and weight to 0%

This my firtst time enter and I am confused.

in arcade mode you can change the power and weight.

So yes in arcade mode make sure the power and weight is 0% (which is stock)
so you dont have to worry 👍

Man, well I had a 40.810, but turns out it was dirty on the last turn b4 T1...dang, but my hairpin braking point is coming along and I just need to tweak my 2nd to last turn a little. I'm done for now atleast.

Just had a short session after lunch.. 15 minutes or so WITH THE DFP! :D
and boy oh boy! ;)

slower t1 than ds2
T1: 41.767
Finish: is about 0.3 seconds slower than ds2 time, which works out to be just about right if you know what i mean! 👍

Transistion over to dfp is nearly getting there.. Using manual gearing too.. still working out the kinks but i think im getting the hang of it :P

Another hour session, another split:

T1 - 40.893 👍

Didn't expect it to come this soon, knocked a second off of my old time as well. Came within 0.2 of what I had set as a goal for a lap time, and easily saw a good 0.3 out there for me due to driver error in the second sector. Was slow through the hairpin and most of spoon curve as well. It figures since I hit it great in the previous best lap  . Hopefully I can shave another 0.2 off the first sector as well. Was a little slow through 130R at about 106 mph, gotta get back to 110 there, and lost some getting sideways out of the turn-around. But that's it for tonight.

@jump-ace: If you get a good run out of the turn before T1, I've found braking right as the rumble strip ends (on the right side) before the hairpin works well. Usually around 80% braking, down to 2nd and 35 mph. Full braking locks up on me and I slide, so a little less than full keeps it good. I'm sure you're about the same, but thought I'd put my 2 cents in ;)

On an interesting note..

I just had a t1: 41.767 with the ds2 believe it or not :S, and i managed to get a final time of .3 slower than my dfp!!!!
