not to worry MR8, just that the top of div3 will be moving into div2 id say, not the other way round ;)

Hehe, that's extra motivation right there. To stick around the upper half of the leaderboard. :D

yeah, most likely, once a few weeks have been run the Divisions should be nice and settled

soft on front medium on rear, seems to counter some of the understeer
But in the process it causes serious oversteer under hard braking. Every corner after T1 is just toooo important to be suffering from the SS/SM tire combo. I gave that combo a shot, even though I was setting equal T1 times much easier and consistently I was having 5 times more difficulty matching my T2 time's with the mediums on the rear.

I haven't done any more laps since the other day. I might turn in one more session later today after the San Marino GP. 👎 to CBS, tape delayed showing of the race.

i agree with you 3rdgenracerX about the SS/SM 👍.

And i also will be watchin the F1 tonight, its on in about 3 and half hours :), not sure if its live, but will be close to it.

Bwah, I have an 8 hour wait on CBS to air the tape delayed race at 12 noon Central USA time. I wish Speed was showing the race, they show em all live like every F1 fan likes.

:/ gotta stay off the net soon so I don't spoil what already happened before I can see it. Stupid CBS! 👎

Latest T times - they're from a couple of days ago because I had to reformat my computer (TWICE 'cos I had a few problems with Windows Update :crazy: ). Gonna start another session in a moment.

T1 = 0'26.959
T2 = 1'02.150

Standard235, that avatar is just creepy, Man. Plain creepy. *shivers*

I'm waiting for that damn race too. SPEED isn't showing it?!?!?! I'd better make sure to catch it today. because my friend always tapes them for me. If it's not on Speed and I miss CBS, I'll miss it all together!

oh snap! look how far off I am from 6th spot! lol

RSCosworth 0'26.319 1'01.030 2 +0'00.597 DFP
kennythebomb 0'26.317 1'01.031 2 +0'00.598 DS2

Slight improvement for me, T time variation so small no point in updating.
Looks like i've started finding the proper line through T1 finally :)
26.2/3's today from being stuck at 26.5 for half a week.
Unfortunately i lost a little bit before T2 so i still haven't broken into 1'00.xxx T2's although i did improve my lap by a tenth.

Looking to finally get under the 1'01s tonight.

That's a huge gap! :lol:

Seriously, my sub-1'01-plan seems to be impossible. I can hit 1'01.1s now with no worries but can't seem to beat my best. Well, I still have tomorrow to do more laps

See ya

lol that sucks. I'm trying to beat myself and you right now, and I came DAMM close one time! I'm trying a different approach to the left-hander that goes on forever right b4 T2...

I haven't changed anyone's division yet, so it's just a typo. Unless it's supposed to be a subliminal message.:lol:

Here's my latest from this weekends run...

[T1] 0:27.832---0:27.259---0:26.866---0:26.969---0:26.667
[T2] 1:04.139---1:03.214---1.02.012---1:01.974---1:01.780

Looks like some stiff div2 competition for a top ten finish. Hope I can get some more seat time tonight and Monday.

Well, gotta be honest, I really think that I could get another .5 seconds off my time here, but I'm spending way too much time trying to get it ... I'm racing every day here, it's become almost obsessive ... and ... maaaaaan ... I need to stop :P :handshaking:

So, pewp to it, I'm going to submit the best I have now ... trying to chase a position or two more when there are easily 12 MUCH faster drivers in my division is crazy. I need to put this one to bed and move on.

Submitting now.

i just had a good run. time off really does help. I have been busy and haven't been on since sat morn.

26.681 1'01.665 lost .5 off my best sector 3 time

Little update for me. Finally broke into the 1'00s :)

Old: -----------------> New:
T1: 0'26.472 -------> T1: 0'26.376
T2: 1'01.077 -------> T2: 1'00.776

Still a little slow through T1, saw a few 26.1's but no luck....
lost .150s from T2 to finish from my 1'01.077 lap. I just keep getting slower through here lol.

Just can't seem to put it all together for me so this looks like the time i will be submitting.

Nice going Alpine 👍

Im putting my time in, i was just happy to beat my dual shock time with the dfp ive had the last few days.

T1 26.733
T2 1'01.702

Hey

Can someone tell how do you go through that right turn just after T1 - with drift or without ? and that long left turn just before T2 ? Those are turns that i probably do very bad and they probably add 1sek to my overal T :/

It's fastest to not drift at all (or as little as possible) on the entire track.
Some turns it helped me to slide the car slightly to rotate it, but I wouldn't call it drifting. Good luck! 👍

I try not to drift at all. The right hairpin after t1, i get to the outside (2 wheels over the white line or more) and as i approach the grass on the left side i brake and try to aim the car to the inside/apex of the corner. I think i slow down to about 60km/h before flooring it at the apex (the slight oversteer in 2nd gear i find helps rotate the car)
For the long left turn, i brake very late from the outside after the bridge's shadow down to around 75km/h while aiming towards the inside (no drift again). I do not hug the inside of the corner. Instead i go a car width or slightly more from the inside of the corner all the time staying around 75km/h. When my car starts to face the toyota sign i floor it, get right up against/over the inside curbs and accelerate through.
I find that by not hugging the inside of the long left, i can find a straighter line for the small straightaway and accelerate earlier, resulting in a much faster exit and a few tenths time difference.

OK thank you guys for the answers. AFAICS I do the right turn almost the same way but long left turn its a different story - I always tried to drift or stick to left side of the turn...
No drifting at all you are saying ? What about first left turn after T1 ? - I thought that little drift in there helps alot... ?

Well that is where it is a judgement call. Lessor of 2 evils really.

Can you go through there faster with a slight drift than slowing down earlier and plowing through with understeer?
You need to try both... A LOT... to see what works best for your driving style. 👍

EDIT: And I'd be willing to bet that the guys going through t2 .5 faster than me aren't drifting much if at all through there. holl01? hot604boi?
