SimRaceDriver just earned D2 atleast (as far as I am concerned).

Just ran a few laps and didn't manage a clean run, but still took note of my T10 to give people an idea of where this D1 slow-poke is at. :D

6'47192 T10

That's going to come down some for sure, but I don't know about 20 seconds.

And here I thought that the Ring was a strong track for me. :boggled:

Oh well, I figure that by the end of the week I should be able to get down to (hopefully) 6'40 at T10.
With luck I may go under that but I doubt it could go much further down for me.

Regarding the track and car selection. 👍
Excellent setup.

I preffer my street cars in GT mode because of the lower weights seen with a stage 3 weight reduction (the DB9 gets down to approximately 1410kg in GT mode  ).

However, this car handles really well for its weight.

Plus, this gives us the chance to run a car at more reasonable weight figures than what we usually see in gt and arc modes.

Basically this is like driving a beastly rear wheel drive Skyline from europe.

Great looks aren't exactly hurting my eyes during the replay and the engine sounds great.

Overall this is a much appreciated combo from my end.
Thanks Flat-Out. :D

btw, now that I'm racing a bit more I am looking forward to seeing just how fast everyone has gotten (I stress everyone since I'm not the kind to ignore lower divisions or non-podium finishers).

Being that I set the standards for what division each of us would go in to based on the qualifier, I am highly interested in seeing just how fast things have become since the first days of GT4.

I know that my lap times have lost an average of 30 seconds (at the ring).

Should be interesting to see if I can keep up with anyone from division 3 this week none the less D1.

Anyway, back in a bit when I've worked on my lap enough to be content with a clean run. :D

T2 1:18.535
T6 3:41.332
T10 6:18.182

lost 1.5 sec on 2 corners :yuck:

I had to use the brakes on that downhill section before T9. Has anyone gotten through clean there full throttle? Possibly 1.8 more sec if its possible.

heh, thats what i thought until i got completely annihilated by veilside in the 1st week of the NRS.

Flat_out.....I love you! I run the DB9 on the Nurburgring alot. Im hoping to get a good result in my first race back after a long absence.

I'm such an idiot.
Here I am thinking my skills have left me because of 4 days of playing SoulCalibur3, mean-while, I'm not paying attention to the fact that I was looking at my T11 time. :banghead: :ouch: :boggled:

That same dirty lap (dirty in the slow way).

T10: 6'24.6

Plenty to come off it too since my original estamates of time lost on dirty parts was far less than I actually lost.

maybe with luck I will manage to keep up with D1.
Just a matter of getting a clean lap to honestly compare myself with everyone.

Anyway, back later when I have a clean run.
Till then,

Thanks for the kind words there Kent, though I doubt one race is worthy of the promotion, considering my lack of abscence from the WRS over the last few weeks!

I can say however that spending about an hour a day racing the Ring' in a variety of cars over the last few months has greatly helped in taming the beast, however driving the Ring' is a lot like the game of Golf!....It's something that no matter how often you do or how good you get at it, it never becomes 'automatic' and there's always room for improvement, just as there's room for mistakes to occur as well.
(I will admit though it doesn't hurt that I'm also running in the Nurburgring Race Series:D)

I'm also pretty positive that there are a handful of other D3 drivers out there who have gone faster but haven't posted their T-times as of yet!
(This is almost always the case...at least in my opinion that is!)

I'm confident that this weeks comboniation is going to come down to a few tenths of a second between the top drivers!

Keep racing! :D

SimRaceDriver:

Couple ticks behind SRD here my first clean lap. Raced Nurb here and there, I really doubt I'll get close to Jack this week. Great splits man!

Hmmm.........I have been going to WRSAnonymous recovery meetings for the past few weeks but I might have to sneak out the old DFP for this one

bleurabbit7
WOOHOO!!! The Ring. Thank you so much. I love this course. SRD, are we gonna see a repeat of week 6?

Nah..I doubt it..I trully feel there are a lot of great drivers in Div 3 who can and probably will spank my arse this week..but I guess only time will tell..especially since I just ran a few more runs and could only slightly improve my times..

Old Times vs New Times

T2: 1'20:573 is now 1'20:751
T6: 3'45:733 is now 3'46:207
T10: 6'25:402 is now 6'24:372

So, it's not like these times can't be beaten!

Yeah, time will tell. It's gonna hurt this week because I can't use my DFP. :( I think I might have to pull the kitchen table in my bedroom. 💡

After first four full laps ( none clean ), T10 has gradually decreased from 6'49 to 6'27. Lots more to come off. Best T1 is a 1'19.7 for now and I didn't complete those laps.

First dirty run, ran 4 complete laps, farthest I got clean was to Pflanzgarten before forgetting to brake before the jump and ending up in the kitty litter, thought I was still in an M3 GTR, lol....

T2 - 1:19.567
T6 - 3:46.213
T10 - 6:29.956

Man am I out of practice :grumpy: . Totally blew the triple right just before T4 I think, anyway, like everyone else, still plenty of time out there, hopefully I'll have the time to get it right. Really wish this were a DBR9, then we'd really be having some fun

oh yea, I am definately going to enter this one. I am sort of decent at the ring. I belive I hold 4th quickest time on the ring on the official leaderboard that I run (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=64846&page=1) and VeilsideBR holds the quickest time altogether just about 20 whole seconds faster then me, grr. he was driving a Minolta and I was driving an F1 car, so I dunno. I have been trying to get under a 7:55 with the NSX-R on comfort tires thanks to a challenge on another board. I have gotten a 7:56.8 with the NSX-R on comfort tires, beat the challenge time by a second and I belive that might have helped my driving skills. not just pushing myself on the ring, but using comfort tires. I haven't raced with sport tires in a while, so hopefully anything I learned carries over.

oh yea, definately gotta compete in this one.

rock.

: Well, I tried racing this combo earlier.... the results were not all that great.....
Now I have had 3 22oz Labbats Blue lights.... I should be good to go!!!!!!!!!
Bring on the tcs and asm...lol I may need it...... :)

1st clean lap. Many more seconds left. At a guess id say 3 - 4. Wonder if its possible for me to break a certain minute mark :P, The winner definelty will be.

0'44.595
1'19.215
1'47.485
2'38.399
3'16.491
3'43.262
4'33.128
5'15.519
5'36.863
6'19.878
6'42.539

7'0x.008

Just took the "beast" out for a couple of laps.

Not as bad as I thought - actually pretty good 👍 :D

It handles nicely, despite the amount of power on S tires.

T10 was about 6'29.xxx on my third lap, so I can see at least an other handful of seconds coming off my final lap time - hopefully more.

The real racing will have to wait for the weekend, though - I am packed with university work for the rest of the week :indiff:

Later.

The Wizard.

hehe, yeah... i think turning that 7 into a 6 is everyone's goal.

First early try for my humble skills:

44.737
1'18.791
1'47.465
2'38.879
3'17.000
3'43.564
4'33.216
5'15.554
5'37.715
6'20.370
6'42.906

i'm I the only one that thinks this car is about as nimble as the queen mary?

veilsidebr
that wasn´t my limit so far, as i was seeing that 7'57 or 56 also, but didn´t get enough free time for it

No doubt that you could of won that race or any of them.
My response was refering to drift260'z post about fastest ring times. In slower cars there's not going to be a huge difference between 1st and 2nd as in the super cars. And any of the top drivers (including you) have a chance of winning this week.

SimRaceDriver
YEAH BABY!
Back to ring after 24 weeks!

Luckily I've ran a few laps w/the DB9 in the past and can confirm that it is NOT a beast of a car to handle out on the Ring'!

Just gotta hope I can finish this weeks event in the same position I did last time! (Keeping my fingers crossed! :D)

SimRaceDriver:

even stock around this track this car is lovely... having had to do this combo (on another forum) but that was stock at the time... if i remember correctly i managed something like a 7:24 STOCK around here so i am expecting people to be under 7 minutes this week...

been roughly 2.5 seconds up on ghost but still crashing :indiff:

Put an hour or two in and I can get around pretty clean now:

T2: 1'20.831
T6: 3'47.287
T10: 6'31.216

Probably another 5-10 seconds for me. This feels so very similar to Mission 34, anyone who hasn't done it ought to give it a crack after this week 👍

Crashed and burned for at least two hours before putting down 2 clean laps in a row,
seemed fast to me at the time, but compared to times posted here, I wont be worrying
too many :).

T2 - 1.21.82
T6 - 3.49.76
T10 - 6.32.72

Under 7 minutes? MMM...guess I better get back to practicing as I'm not quite that fast right now! :D
