Under 7 minutes? MMM...guess I better get back to practicing as I'm not quite that fast right now! :D

i think i will come close to cracking that "minute barrier" going on current splits...

T2: 1'20.137 (seen a 1'19 so am aiming for a 1'18)
T6: 3'44.351 (3'41)
T10 : 6'22.962 (6'17)

that will be close to my best lap if i can manage that...

and for a bit of fun, got a bit too slideways through the start of the first sector (this is from the lap in which i posted the times above)

T2: 1'21.071
T6: 3'48.597
T10: 6'32.239

They're craptacular, I know :indiff: , but at least, it's a totally clean lap. It's probably the lap I'll submit, too. I've got another race at the ring this week, and one race there provides more than enough frustration for me :P

Had a 30 minutes session, and I ruined all laps before reaching T10. The strange thing is that I haven't missed any braking point : I always lost the car in the straights, like putting 2 wheels in the grass and the car goes spinning.
I can't decently not submit this week :guilty:

I'm sure at the very least, you'll get a clean run by next week Cyril. No worries, eh?:)

Just finished a 2 hour session, this car is not really my style (too heavy of course) but it's not too terrible.

1'18.914
3'43.261
6'20.534

That's my best clean save for now at least for the leaderboard.👍

Well, what can i say that hasn't already been said in this thread............Nowt!

Nice tribute combo Cyril, it's time to see who agrees with J.C. on this car.

Dusting the DFP off for a blast, haven't had the time or inclination to race properly for a couple of weeks thus why i haven't submitted a time for the last two races.

But I will be doing so this week!

Off for a blast,

Laters

Neil

ok. I don't remember anyof my other sector time except T10. T10: 6.20.442. I'm within 5-7 seconds of breaking the 7 miniute barrier. I have been quick enough but the car always does something and it ends up in me having to slow down to keep it on the road and lose my lead, or throw the lap away by spinning off. I know I can get to 6.18's, I've seen the 2 second lead before, just like I said, something happens, and I throw the lap away. well, thats it for me.

rock.

It's been SOOOOO long since i have done anything round the ring, that I could really do with the sublime Sabine Schmit sitting on my lap telling me what to do.

Actually, scratch the driving! :sly:

This looks good :) can i submit the WRS quailifer time and go straight into this or do i need to wait for the go ahead?

Once you pm your qualifier sector and final times to flat-out, you can go ahead and race. He will pm you your division placement from the qualifier results.

Welcome to WRS!! :)

Ok, after about 3 clean but slow laps interspersed with a couple of faster dirty ones, but all i can do for today here are my pathetic splits.

1,21.465 :indiff:
3,51.120 :yuck:
6,37.877 :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :grumpy:

Crap, I know, but as i have said, i haven't visited the ring prob since the last WRS there.

Plus not been really motivated to race for the last few weeks, if not longer, so my standards have been slipping.

Laters peeps

Put in a half an hour so far on this combo and let's say I'm rusty... No clean (or anywhere near for that matter) laps. Really haven't driven here since the TT WAY back when...

So, as far as braking points are concerned, is anyone finding that some flashing gear indicator braking points are way conservative, while others are stupid late? There's no way I'm making it through the kink prior to Adenaur-Forst based on the braking indicator or the "Angst Curve". OTOH, I can brake way later in many other sections. HELP?!

Seems a lot like work. I'll try to put more time in and maybe my rhythm will come in. Hope so...

I'm sure if you submitted both your qualifer time and race time together before this week's deadline that wouldn't be a problem. You may want to double check with flat-out just in case though.

Rusty doesn't even begin to describe my performance on this track SHig. Try pathetic? Subpar? Feeble?

Oh I can do the first sectors ok, thru sheer repetition from restarts, but contrary to popular opinion, I really hate this track. Just hate it! Did I mention that I really hate it? :grumpy:
I sucked in the TT, and I'll suck in the DB9.

Once I get to about sector 6 it all falls apart. Every time! :yuck:
Could it be that this corresponds almost exactly to my 4 minute average attention span? 💡

So the very first clean lap I get will be the one. Guaranteed! And it will take all GD week to get it too..... which is why I really hate this track!

Right.
Sending both times (registration and week 30) in the same PM is fine.

So your deadline is tuesday for both races.

Board updated.

I doubt I'll be running this week ... I'd love to, but pushing myself in another competition, trying to get a clean run for the NRS, *AND* going to Seattle this weekend for Bobkarts little Lan party are all going to crimp into my time.

Good luck to those who are running 👍

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger my friend, I think alot of us are in the same leaky boat. Good Luck!

Hey Koly, does Bobkart ever race in the WRS? He sent me a photo of his 5 station setup, what a trip, wish I lived in your area, I'd love to go to Bobkarts with ya!

One run with the DS2 so far, got a 6:41 T10 (the one under the gantry on dottingher hohe).

Get my wheel back tomorrow so start to put some serious times down:D

Hey Minor,

I'm RIGHT with ya here. In my half hour of flailing, I think I saw a T10 of like 6'50. I know that it's not indicative of where I'll finish but it's a bit disheartening to see 6'20s and less. Looks like I managed to beat you last time at the 'Ring by a couple of seconds. I know that I submitted my second clean lap IIRC. I'm sure you would have beaten my if I had submitted clean lap #1.

4 minute attention span just may explain things.

I can't say that I hate the track though. It's a tough track to get into as far as a competitive event is concerned because there's so much potential satisfaction from just driving a clean, tidy lap, but when placed in stark contrast to a truly masterful lap, it can get frustrating. Some day I'll get to that masterful level and FINALLY beat M34. Once that happens, then maybe I'll go for some golds...

Can we PLEASE make this a two week event? :^) :^) :^) That way us slowpokes will have ample opportunity to put in the time? Doing 300 laps on a 1'20 circuit is what I need to get a decent time (I know, monkeys everywhere!), but 300 laps on a 7 minute track will not happen in a week.

Okay, fine, keep it at one week, limit my misery. Next week, Autumn Ring Mini in a Speed 12 on Comfort tires in GT mode, full mod.

Had my first run at this just then. Couldn't get a clean lap. The fact that's it's 6am doesn't really help either....

The problem is I get some good early splits, then I'm just trying to keep it steady to finish the lap, rather than go all out. I wish there was a way to turn off your split times. I'm going to have to try a bit of tape I think.

Are you sure you aren't looking at the T11 sector time? Kent made that mistake earlier. And my first lap had a T10 of 6'49 with so many offs and crappy braking points, crappy line just about everywhere. T10 is the sector time just as you hit the huge ass straight.

I belive my first lap T10 time was a 6.28 or so. and then I just cleaned and after about 2 or 3 laps it was down to 6.20. I'm aiming for a 6.18 now and with more practice(go work, phhbbtt) I should be able to get a 6.18. I am not sure if I can get sub-7 miniute times out of this car. VeilsideBR might, if he works hard, but I'm not 100% on it.

rock.

Bobkart's place is the best setup I've ever imagined, dreamed or seen. Only a few more days ! And this time there'll be 4 of us P-Towner's to cause mass chaos up in S-Town. Oh, and yea about the whole looking at the wrong T sector, wish that was the case, but nope I have SO MUCH work to do tonight I'll put in some time for sure...that is unless--- awe crap! Ratchet: Deadlocked will be in my mailbox today....dammit! Now I'm torn: GT4 or Rat-...GT4 it is...lol. I'll be TRYING my best to hit 6:20 this week :indiff: .

Yup. I made the same mistake I see. So my best dirty T10 so far is a sterling
6'29. Only 10 or 11 seconds to go! Not bad! :grumpy:

One thing that SHig and someone else mentioned I think is that the flow of sectors is very important, and that this is achieved through repetition and experience. I can see how the different sections should go, just have trouble executing.

I don't seem to have much trouble up to carussell , but it's that whole muddly mid-section that I have trouble remembering all the brake/turn-in/accel points. I'm right there with a 1'19 flat T2, and a 3'43.8 T6 but then it just turns sour rather quickly after.

So no, I don't hate the track.......just my ineptitude on it.

6:29.740 @T10 :D

Man, controlled a slide just after Pflanzgarten 1, no tcs or asm obv, it got 2 wheels on the gravel, went into a slide and i held it at 80. :D

Yup, the T time right at the beginning of the Dottinger-Hohe straignt. Very dirty, many offs, probably a full stop in there somewhere. But 30 seconds! <sigh...>

I'll keep at it and maybe once I remember that "that was the way to the OLD house", I'll keep all four (or at least two) on the black stuff and finish with a decent time.

Hey Flat-out (And CFM), just wanted to maybe point out that with the clocks changing this past weekend, that the submission time should be 8AM EST now? (1PM GMT).

Nice combo, will see if I can get a few laps done. 👍

I like to refer to GMT because :
 1. it's not affected by daylight saving time
 2. it's closer to my own time :D
Perhaps I should mention the time in several cities instead.
Something like : 1pm GMT (2pm in Paris, 10pm in Tokyo, midnight in Sydney, 8am in New York, 3am in Los Angeles)

of course we will have sub-7 minutes times... i think times will be relatively close to the ones in S-16, maybe 10 seconds slower or so... for me, nothing good so far, still learning the track and how to drive a truck with locking brakes :grumpy: best so far was a 6´22 at T10, but i´m also all dirty and missing the right braking points... hopefully i can get a 6´something by the end of the week also... llets just see until our top drivers post things... i´m pretty sure we will se a 6´11 or something like that...

Now High School is over so I’ve got no excuse to stay out of the action. And by the looks of things I picked the perfect week to come back, awesome combo! 👍
