SWEET! I think I'mma like this... So, where do we win the car? I've forgotten, only done it once or twice I think... Thanks!

Tried some laps and got 27.8 at T1 and 1'06.8 as best T2, but nothing clean yet. I havn't found anything that is better than the stock suspension after 30 min of tinkering . If someone can come up with a great setup I'm sure we'll be seeing 1'05's in no time at t2.

First clean lap

T1: 28.292 :yuck:
T2: 1'07.311

Got conservative at the end so total is crap.

Stock suspension. (Actually is pretty sensitive to suspension changes.)
auto 14
aids at 0, except tcs at 1
lsd all 5

A lot of time left to get. Just need to do some work on a setup I think. 💡

Try uninstalling the LSD Shunt, I saw an improvement in accel without it, but I could've been dreaming. And yeah it seems to go faster and EASIER with tcs 1.

And man I have my work cut out for me this week, u guys are killing me already!

Well casio, you're the man with the big target on his shirt now!

Big target....Saying I''m overwieght or something?! I swear, I'm just big boned! :sly:. This week is yours anyway, I'm hopeless at GT Mode, I'm an Arcade mode specialist:tup:

But seriously, that's one nice Chevelle, kinda looks like a Toyota I used to have, but bigger. (Seriously, I probably have a picture somewhere...)

Here we go

I havn't had a chance to to run this yet, but I love seattle, and with a 500hp RWD Chev, what could be better?

Just like I said. I'd hate doing that uphill. It's a bad brake point for me. Either I'm early and take the corner really slow or I'm late and HELLO WALL.

T1: 0:29.067
T2: 1:10.242

AHHHH! So where do we get it?!

Casio
Big target....Saying I''m overwieght or something?! I swear, I'm just big boned! :sly:.
Hahaha, good one. :) And nice cars guys!

after guessing some suspension settings and struggling i may go back to a stock one coz i am not very quick this week... was struggling significantly before i put TCS to 1; had it on zero to start with...
have found that i am quicker when i short shift this sucker, the redline is rather low...

some clean splits (looking for at least another second off of my final time)

T1: 28.817 (i am dreadfully slow around the first hairpin)
T2 :1'08.772 (messed up a bit on the train tracks)

A general answer to several questions posted here and elsewhere concerning this race.

Yes, it is a hotlap, though the first post didn't mention it explicitly : I edited it.
Every time we've been using the 'Free Run' mode we had to submit our best hotlap.

I corrected also the 22nd, stupid copy/paste option.

The car is a prize car, and all the mods cost a total of 220,600 Cr :
Oil change : 50
Racing exhausts : 4 800
Racing brakes : 4 700
Brake controller : 10 600
NA stage 3 : 75 000
Port polish : 5 500
Engine balancing : 12 000
Racing chip : 1 500
Fully customisable transmission : 10 400
Triple clutch : 4 700
Racing flywheel : 1 050
Variable LSD : 6 600
Carbon driveshaft : 3 000
Fully customisable suspension : 17 000
R4 tyres : 35 000
Weight reduction stage 1 : 1 200
Weight reduction stage 2 : 5 500
Weight reduction stage 3 : 22 000

So no, it's not a big muscle car, but it handles far better than the Mustang, Tempest, etc, which have a great acceleration but no braking and turning capability.

I think I'll spent more time on this one than the previous weeks, now that weeks 33 and 34 are ready ;)

New splits

T1 29.621
T2 1,10.255

After about 10 laps

If 28.292 is yuck, my 29.240 must be :yuck:  👎 :grumpy: :scared: :nervous: :P

Sorry Nat. I didn't mean it that way. :nervous:
I had a couple laps that were in the 27.8 range for T1, and couldn't bring 'em home to get a clean under 1'07 for T2. That's why my T1 was yuck......

@jump_ace. So you are saying that you didn't install the full LSD at all? You are using stock? I installed it, but have all of the settings at 5. Will have to try it your way. :)

Also I am playing around with brakes. It seems that this car will take a higher setting than the usual 3 without locking up, and I can go just a bit deeper into the corner before braking and still maintain good line and control. Especially at the first turn. 👍

Also played around with this suspension setup. If anybody wants to give it a try, please let me know what you think.

I KNOW IT'S A PRIZE CAR! WHERE DO I GET IT!!! WAAAAAAH.

Ok, I'm not that upset about it, because I haven't had time to play yet anyway, but I want B-Spec to go at it while I'm getting ready for work and working so I can go at it when I get home... :'(

All right, there we go, had to find it myself... Lol, my roommate's website no less: http://www.tuff240.com/gt4prizecarlist.htm

Camaro races it is!

all you had to do is read the first post... cyril told you where to get it.

Go no TCS. Definitely worth some time. The TCS KILLS your power. Maybe tweak your gearing a little so you aren't in the meat of the power on corner exit so it's easier to prevent wheelspin.

I've tweaked the suspension a bit but haven't decided where to stop and get serious about driving. I see a whole lot of time out there, but it's gonna take some hours in the seat to find it.

The turn at the top of the hill sucks, and there doesn't seem to be a smooth line through. Also, the RxR chicane is still a massive work in progress...

Take the last offset gate at FULL THROTTLE? You mean no tap of the brakes under the PIT IN >>> sign!? Madness! I'll have to refine that technique...

So far, best clean splits are:

T1 28.864
T2 1'09.103

So, who's using 4 gears and who's using 5? I've tried both, but currently I'm using 5. Taking the first hairpin in either 2nd or 3rd, then all the rest of the slow corners in 3rd.

More to come...

-SHig

hmmmm. I actually got faster by turning TCS on to 1, and shortening up the gearing to auto 11 or 12 and then stretching 5th gear. That way I can do a mini power slide in 2nd thru the first corner, and get the back end to pivot. Other than that corner, I am using only 3,4, and 5 gear.

For the uphill, I brake just before the last uphill "step" on the level brown pad. Actually brake a little early, then really cut the turn on the rumble and power out.

RxR chicane is tricky. Agreed. I've taken it wide and it's smoother, and tight (which seems faster), but the biggest thing is to avoid the left rumble on exit as this throws you into the wall.

I don't know how you would do the final chicane flat out either. I have to do at least a little bake tap to set it up......

Not a problem :P I used your 'bad' T1 as my incentive and I've run one myself .5 faster than *my* usual T1, just couldn't hold the bugger. If you were D2, I'd cry, but I can console myself in the fact that you're one of the "Freaking Fearless Drivers".

Yeah I did this in the Jaguar at Apricott and it made A HUGE difference, IMO anyway. If it doesn't work after a few laps then just reinstall it and then come back here and chew me out ;)

Great tips Shunt, for that uphill right SHig was talking about, were u keepin it in 3rd and powering out? I think with some time everything else will fall into place and I too have tried to take that last chicane full bore, but even letting of the gas a touch ensures me a safe passage, and still pretty fast.

Yup. I shift up to 4th coming out of the turn at the bottom of the stair step hill. I let the tach peg in 4th all the way up, then take the right in 3rd. You will do a little mini jump on the last "stair tread" even under braking. Just after you land, (which is before the crest) that's when to let off the brakes and power thru. Sometimes I get it right, some times I stuff the rail on exit.
If you hold the brakes too long, you will end up in the middle of the track with no momentum for the straight. :guilty:
I can hit 5th before braking for the big right sweeper at the end of the straight if I do it right, but so far I've kept it in 4th because I don't want to downshift 2 gears going into this important corner.

So basically the entire lap is done in 3,4, or 5 gear with the exception of the first turn which is done in 2 gear. And I might fool around with taking that in 3rd to see if it's any faster.

Please take this all with a grain of salt as I don't know yet how I will end up doing ANYTHING with just the one short session put in so far. :)

I gotta try out what all the other racers are doing too! 👍

On a more related topic I gave this a ran this morning. Got some pretty awful splits.

T1 - 29.390
T2 - 1'09.817

I saw a T1 of 28.6 and a T2 of 1'08.9 but stuffed them both up. 👎

I wouldn't go TCS either, it's not like the car is so powerful it's spinning it's wheels in every gear. On the LSD front, I've gone with a 2-Way, only because I've never used it before. I've also lowered it to 100/100, and reduced both damper rebounds to 3.
