Jeez KLR ... incredible splits!!!
That's what I thought! (T1 anyway) But then, I saw:
Dr_Watson
Gave it an honest effort today.
new splits:
27.868
1'07.028
Uhm, yes, I would say you gave it an honest effort. I may have to give it another one after seeing this... Yikes! I'll have to tie in a decent T1 with a GOOD rest of lap to compete for first this week. I might have to submit twice... I'll give it a go tomorrow night I guess. Nice run Dr! 👍

Damn, I didn't know you had made that a firm thing, and won't allow one later submission... Alrighty then, I guess I am done for this week.

Time submitted.

28.647
1'08.736

After a few days pause I returned to the combo last night. Barely couldn't keep my ghost in sight. :irked:

Might as well make an early submission. :dopey:

Yeah, I didn't even realize that the rule wasn't written in CFM's races. I've always been sure it was there and I think I remember the point was discussed (was it during the summer 2004 ?) and the answer was 'no multiple submission'.

Anyway, I just don't want to be overwhelmed with PMs every time somebody posts new splits on the thread. I already have about 50 PMs to cut and paste before I can post the results.

BTW, I'll be travelling tomorrow (train or plane, plus rented car), and I don't know for sure at what time I'll be able to check my PMs.
So the results will perhaps not be posted exactly one minute after deadline as I did in the past two weeks.
I'll post week 33 a few hours sooner to make sure you have something to race after week 32 deadline.

I don't know how you process everything in 1 minute anyway, Flat :)

this recent photo should sort out your questions:

It was a rule, but it was not unheard of to send in some splits thinking you were done, and then you might have a chance to go at it again, and you weren't expecting to, and you come up with a new final time, then it was all right to re-submit. Submitting after every run you do, wasn't something that was allowed.

I'm submitting now, can't do any better. Good Luck Y'all

Hey Koly, did ya see that your .001 faster at sector two. We've been this close before and you always get me in sector 3. Maybe it's my turn!

final splits, run out of time

T1 - 27´869 (best was a 27´5)
T2 - 1´07´076 (best was 1´06´7)

weird, this lap was faster than my previous 2 with splits of 1´06´8 on T2... but i´ll take it, since the last corner was very good, crossed the line at 223 i think...

i´ll be a bit behind the 2 leaders, but in the final day i just stop trying to tune and play... it worked, i almost broke the second barrier i was aiming for... just 0´1 off of that...

still long gears worked better for me...

well, lets see what the other guys come up with... maybe i can grab a podium, don´t know...

Well I've just run out of time, haven't even touched this week since Wednesday about 2 hours into it. :indiff: . Well looks like I'll be at the bottom of D1. But hey, I made it and its something to improve on 👍 . Time Submitted. I would like to say GREAT TIME KYLE! WOOT!!! P-Town ROX!

if any1 wants to chase my ghost for the final hours b4 deadline

give me a shout on msn... h0t6o4b0i@hotmail.com

or pm i guess

if dan´s second barrier he almost broke is the same as mine, than you got the biggest win (percentage wise) mister curtis...

who knows, he might be in a different second barrier though...

Curtis, I'd chase your ghost, but I lose it half way down the first straight and it's not in sight after the first corner :P

Newest splits:

27.787 (seen 27.6)
1'07.179 (seen 1'07.0)

Cut off .2 from my total, was a good finish, but I made way too many mistakes in the middle section. I wonder if I'll do a few more laps tomorrow.

27.609
1'06.687

Terrible last sector so I'm betting I'll be .3 or more behind holl.

Hehhehe, I always watch you Drew, because you give me good competition 👍 I think you're faster than me nowadays, but I felt okay with my finish (and nomrally I'm real weak here), so let's see how this one falls :P

It'll be down to the wire, for sure!!!

Board updated guys, probably for the last time, but I'll try and keep an eye on the thread. Iceman, almost missed you :P

Just finished my 2nd and final session for this week. The final isn't too bad, but I had t2 splits that were .3 faster. Only I couldn't bring them home. Every one had a little touch here and there with the rear end that I couldn't feel on the lap, but could see that darn 1.3 MPH drop on the analyzer. :ouch: So this lap was an anti-touch lap. I hate those!

T1: 27.762
T2: 1'06.648

I will be interested to see which one of us pooched the final the best iceman.
I know that I lost some time in the final. Should be interesting. 👍

well, i tried hotbois idea of 20/60/20 diff setup and it seemed to work pretty good.

i improved my time by .4ish with:

29.511
1'05.947 (first time i ever got a 1'05!)

but did the last corner dumb!

time submitted!

cya!

And now onto more important news!!!

AUSTRALIA IN THE WORLD CUP!!!!!!!! :D
*Running around with tshirt over my head

well

hmpf :grumpy:

i wake up and find out that at least 3 guys had pass me... that´s what you get from only having a good session on monday. this is world class competition and they WILL come after your times... i thought i had it this week, i saw guys were not doing so well, but now, i just don´t know anymore, they say bad last corner, i say good last corner for me, still no idea of how the final time will stand up... a top 5 would be very nice after all... 👍

in the start of WRS i would never thought of beeing competitive with normal/concept cars, but looks like i´m closing the gap...

i really like this combo last night, i wanted to keep trying, but that happens every week.

funny thing is, GT mode is great, but tuning is so complex and weird in GT4 that this week i changed back the suspension to stock last night and it was better... i swear, the only thing i didn´t change was brake balance... until then, i was running with 4/4 on toe, 4 of camber in the back end, i know some crazy stuff.

actually, this trial by error setup that i try to do in every GT mode week does not work. to little time to tell if i´m really better with srings at 15 or at 2.8 doing 5 laps or so with each setup...

things just does not work precisevely like in the last GT game i played (GT2) back in the hey days, some things were a lock, like stiffer springs, or a higher damper for race cars... now, it looks like a puzzle, if you take one piece out, you can´t figure the car.

the best setup seems to be the default, which sucks... all the changes we made, are just to suit the car to our driving style, not to make it faster like it used to (IMO)

don´t know if you guys agree, i STILL didn´t had time to spend a whole day with a car testing every combination possible, but tuning is not as effective as once was. on this combo, the only thing that worked all the time was the long gears, using 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. 10 minutes before i ended my session last night i saw that with this gear i could run with a optimal LSD (5/5/5, the faster) without the hassle of wheelspin, but no more time for that. my suspension tweak was HORRIBLE.

STILL, GT MODE IS GREAT, FAR MORE REALISTIC, AND I WOULD LOVE MORE, AND MORE RACES IN THIS MODE, PLEASE!!! 👍

about curtis replay, i watched and its great. some thoughts...

1- i was happy to see that i had the exact same driving line and even some little tricks like putting up a long gear just before the last corner to do it faster...

2- really, looks like loser´s talk, but my lap was just like his. now why did i get to stay 1´5 seconds behind?

3- this week it was about braking, and reducing braking lock. this is what´s holding me down in GT4, braking better. because in curtis replay, he had great angle on every turn, and never had his wheels locked by brake, so he had great momentum all the way. i could stay with his ghost up until T1, but after, the middle section was very good.

4- left foot braking was a key this week, and i´m pissed because i can´t do it (playing with both sticks of the DS2 sucks, bad habit, stupid me 👎 )
this enables the car to be faster thru turns. the brake-stop-then turn thing was not for this car...

anyway, it was a great week, glad to be back on GT mode, and always learning a lesson, hoping that one day i can step up a notch 👍

I'm online half an hour before deadline, I copy/paste my text file into a new thread and preview it.
Then I start typing in the times I've already received in this new thread.
When I'm done, I press F5 regularly to check for late PMs and I type in the times as they arrive.
At 10:00 pm (my time), I press F5 every 5 seconds.
At 10:01 pm I press F5 a last time and then I click on the "submit" button.

And you have all results 1 minute and a few seconds after deadline :D

@Dr_Watson : I told you not to take pictures when the red light is on :D

Gonna submit my current time which I hadn't even realised but I did on 535 hp instead of 550 hp :dunce: There was still another .4 to be had for me mostly from the middle sector but I'm happy enough with what I got. Fasj, I'm sure you beat me to the line 👍

Oh dear GOD I read Cyril's post about being online at submission time and for a gut wrenching moment I thought he was writing that REAL TIME! I HADN'T SUBMITTED YET!

Whew...

Well, the monkeys kinda came through with a personal best 0.3" faster than before, but still not anywhere near the top. I feel fasj's pain with setting though. I played DrWatson's settings for a while (low/stiff) and liked them a lot, seemed to work well. But then I went back to my original settings (high, soft, uncontrollable) and that also felt good. In the end I got a brand new IROC and retuned it on my settings and bested my time in 20 minutes.

It's amazing how much damage Seattle will do to a car in only a hundred miles. I had to do a chassis refresh by 300 miles or so, and by 500 miles the car was junk. Tried a rigidity increase but the ghost just ran away. The first few laps on the fresh car were magic! Gonna have to remember to have a fresh car for Monday nights...

Anyway, I'll be submitting the following:

T1 28.027
T2 1'07.536

Great fun this week, still slow, the hoard will feast tonight but the whip will come out again in due time...

I put about 400 miles on mine and the last 2 days I haven't been able to stay with my ghost, never occured to me to get a fresh car....DOH! I'll remember that for next time, thanks.

Hey Randy Mc, why are you still listed in Div.2?
