My splits:

T1: 0'28.635
T2: 1'08.315

I've basically concentrated so far on the stairs. I'm trying to find a setup that reduces the porpoising effect on landing.

So far I've found setups that let you do wheelies and/or endos on landing, neither of which are conducive to braking. :dunce:

I tried for an hour trying to stop that and in the end I found that the stock setup was as good as anything I'd tried :yuck:

I decided to take a spin with TCS set to 1. Needless to say it was faster because I'm not lighting the tyres up. I improved by over a second. I took the TCS back off and bettered that by .3 but ever so slightly brush the wall after the hairpin.

T1: 0:28.651
T2: 1:09.158

Maybe last week's tarmac rallye was training for this. :sly:

I'm getting into the low 1:08, but can't manage anything clean with that so far. Stupid muscle car :P

And I've managed a few times to get thru the last chicane thing at full throttle... just very very tight fit =/

okay, after Australia's magnificent victory :) :) i played a bit of this combo early in the morning and discovered that decreasing the front dampner (bounce) really helps to enable u to attack the curbs with more confidence and it also helps stabalise the car over the uphill section

27.886 (seen a diabolical 27.500 once)
1'06.501 (lost .25 in the train track section due to timidness and been uncertain of how the car will react)

also took the last corner pretty bad, i can see another .45 left to reach the second barrier thats possible with a bit of luck and guts.

the setup i came up with is

6.8/5.6 (didnt touch that)
122/126
2/5
8/5
2/1
0/0
3/4

BB 3/3
LSD standard
gearing- default

i think the setup is ok for stability purposes, and pretty much the best u can hope for.

the way i did a lap is as follows:

always pay attention to the poles/signs to get ur braking point right for each corner 👍

1. go past the three closely spaced signs on left and brake just b4 the next sign, and down to third as u brake for the hairpin, making sure not to brake to early as to avoid the inside rumble on exit as it will kill ur speed. 65km/h

2. change to fourth just b4 u left foot it. 140km/h

3. go over the jump and brake b4 the last jump to kill the speed sufficiently-then brake at the same time as turning in, trying to induce a little drift in order to maximise entry speed and minimise braking time, take it in 3rd at 102km/h

4. drive the car on a wide route as u approach the next right, brake from wide, and turn in to the apex (this one u can go over) and take the corner initially at 107-110km/h in 3rd. u will then have to just balance the throttle a bit to avoid wheel spin as u head over to the extreme left of the track in order to maximise ur angle in for the next right, which can be left foot braked at 135km/h

5. head right a bit, and for the fastish left i found that just using a bit of 2/5 braking power (left foot) and taking the corner at 138km/h is best for stability

6. the tight left can be taken at 80+ km/h, making sure to focus on exit speed

7. the train track section is difficult, but i try and brake just after the over head sign, and start moving towards the initial inside wall, then full throttle at 105 as u head out wide a bit then i just half throttle it all the way through the right left combo

8. change to 4th and take the next chickane at a smooth (half to 3/4 throttled) 165km/h

9. taken in 3rd

10. the last is difficult :yuck: but i usually just left foot brake it (half braking power) at 168. i dont see how u can full throttle this corner, i dont think its possible, change to 5th and hit the line at 220

and thats it :)

AUSSIES!!!!!

That's what I though too, theres just no way to take it full out. I tap the brakes and downshift as well, the downshift helps a lot with understeer.

T1 - 28.344
T2 - 1'08.217

Can take some more time out of that easy, considering how much slop was in that lap.

all you had to do is read the first post... cyril told you where to get it.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't there on the first day... Maybe it was? I was expecting someone to tell me in a reply what it was, not just an editing of the original post without telling me, but I unno, no biggie.

And WOW, can you say torque monster?!

Okay, first splits... Quite suprised myself I must say! stock(NOT racing) suspension, stock(no Limited Slip) differential, custom gears, only using 3rd, 4th, and 5th, brake balance still at 3/3.

T1: 28.322(seen one 28.1, which should be doable for me, and two 28.2s)
T2: 1'08.063

Goal is about half a second faster at T2... Haha, we'll see about that...

first 10 minute session:

t1: 29.6
t2: 1'08.9

might have time for another one final session later.. stressin out about exams :scared:

some new clean splits

T1: 28.489 (have seen a few 28.1's through here so i want another 0.3 from this sector)
T2: 1'08.001 (saw a 1'07.8, so another 0.2 through here)

and didn't quite get the final sector as smoothly as i would have liked i figure on another 0.7 on my overall lap to be happy and maybe crack the second barrier that i want...

Hmmm... Is that so... Lol, and how do you know that on your 1'07.8 you weren't .3 faster at T1? Hehehe. Anywho, I think I'll be fighting for that barrier as well, or better maybe?

SWEET! I think I'mma like this... So, where do we win the car? I've forgotten, only done it once or twice I think... Thanks!
Camaro Meeting : CHEVROLET Camaro IROC-Z Concept '88
The reply was given to you 9 minutess after your post. Hehe :P

As for me, I have yet to go win the car, let alone do any laps. Hopefully I'll get lucky today and I'll have time to atleast unlock the car. Looks like another crappy week for me at the moment. Oh, thanks for the write up Holl, it's good stuff 👍

Could someone do me a quick favor and write down what HP upgrades they did to this car? I thought I had done everything but an oil change but I seem to be way off pace even for being in sim mode. Unless an oil change will make a dramatic increase in performance. Thx!

race intake/exhaust
chip
port and polish
balancing
stage 3 (NA)

Do the oil change! You should see 550 hp on the big setup graph, 543 (i think) on the small one, and 516 hp (i think) on a replay.

Okay I'll try that out tonite along with Dan's settings too. Now all I have to do is find the time...lol. Thx so much dude!

Nice challenging one, Cyril. 👍
You mean you actually liked 2 races of mine in a row ? waow ;)

I hope I'll have time to race a few laps on this one.
I finished races 33 and 34, and I was doing tonight some testing for a future NOS race. Perhaps I can stop testing and start racing : I haven't been putting much effort in my own races. Except to set them up I mean.

to get to the board that was just updated:

T1 - 28´012 (best was 27´7)
T2 - 1´07´738 (best was 1´07´4)

finish ok, just 1´2 seconds of where i want to be by the end of the week.

and i think i have that second in my little mistakes, just been busy tuning, testing several things... back with more tomorrow, hopefully with a 1´06 👍

i love GT mode, please more races in this mode 👍

You're really slippin' Nat. Track listed on leaderboard is still autumn ring????
We might have to think about cutting your pay if this sort of shoddy work keeps up. :sly:

hehe. j/k You know we all appreciate your efforts keeping the board updated. 👍

Okay so after about 45 min total this week I have. Time is limited this week as I have aquired another client to work for....UGH!

T1 - :28.500 (:28.3xx)
T2 - 1:07.884 (1:07.4xx)

This lap is pretty damned close to being dirty but I *think* its clean. I try not to post dirty splits....dbl checked it: it *should* be fine, but I"m not happy with the overall lap yet, I lost .3 or so in the final chicane.

NO TCS guys ... if there are any ... how are you stopping the ass end from swinging around in those 'low traction' moments? I'm using throttle 'control' and a little LSD (15 for accel, 5 elsewhere) and I find I'm faster than no LSD and 1 TCS, but I really can spin this sucker verrrry easily if I lose concentration for a nano-second. Any way to plant that a$$ more firmly to the ground?
