flat-out
The submitted lap has to be clean.
If you find that cutting through the last chicane on the previous lap gives you a better speed on the straight, and thus makes you save a few tenths, then just do it.
It has been allowed in the past and it is allowed this week too.
Actually.
Cutting the final chicane was illegal in the past and we always used the start finish times of the racer in question as well as the fastest racer that week to get an idea of what the fastest possible crossing speed could be.
Then if some random racer crossed the line more than 1 or 2 mph faster...
But I think it's fitting that you have your own way to do things just as each of us in the past had to combat similar situations. 👍
I kinda like the idea of letting that chicane get cut (if you're such a dis-honorable racer as to do that then fine!).
(I will not cut that chicane though, even if it will drop .2 or .3 from my time)
However, it is a good idea to allow it because if you don't allow it then only the cheats will do it.
If you do allow it then it doesn't matter who does and doesn't do it.
So I think it's a great idea to just go with what Flat-Out has said.
Just know this...
I think it is a good idea in application.
In theory I think cutting that chicane is horrible and an offense to all clean racing theory.
I'll be back to edit T times into this as soon as I get a lap in.
Back shortly,
Till then,

Edit
Just ran a total of 4 or 5 laps.
Very interesting combo. 👍
Looks like over braking will be the danger for this week (fun stuff!).
There seems to be a tendency to jerk in with braking but steady hands will cure that easily.
Also, I see no reason to cut the final chicane getting ready for the next lap.
You can take that chicane full throttle in this car and it's still easy.
I did capture some T times although with it being this early in the race I don't think they are really representitive of a great effort.
16.0??
35.6??
1'02.9??
I would hope to make high 1'01s.
Let's just wait and see how that works out.
