Well Well, Flat-Out wrecking my dreams of complaining through the week. ;)

First off, I ran the entire setup with an '03 Type-V only to see the "used" in the first post after it was too late. :(
Luckily I was using the "Gtp's Garage." :D

Started over again with my personal data. đź‘Ť

Used an 11,000 mile '01 (normal).
(white in color, green "takata" rims)

Exactly 285 hp with slight differences in setup (same power modifiers).
Semi race components mostly...
Twin plate clutch, semi-race flywheel, 1.5 LSD, driveshaft, and an "Original" Suspension.

Ran a bunch of laps easily without restarting half as often as usual.
(replays were amazing and the car looked suprisingly good despite the green rims)

1'01.7?? T2
(not sure if it was clean, checking when my bro is done with the PS2)

Anyway, great race. đź‘Ť
Best wishes to all those who are getting involved, I'm sure it will be a really fun week for anyone who sticks with it.

Later. :D

BTW, some worry that the 10km (6.2mi) used cars might have a much better torque at a similar power (283hp).

The Honda S2000 Type-V '01 (NOT Spoon) available in one of the uber-saves has 6.2mi. Fully modded + oil change = 300HP shown on the graph, in the Settings section. My guess is that it needs to be out, regardless of torque, correct?

Also, the Original Suspension mod is available in the Tuner Village (everything else is the same as the other mods available in the original tuner, except for a Turbo mod which is not allowed anyway). Is that off-limits too (the Original Suspension mod)?

EDIT: By fully modded, of course, I mean modded with only the allowed parts (+ oil change; before oil change it shows 286HP).

Interesting combo for my return. First race with my DFP and first race in the WRS for a while. Don't laugh at my times though! :P

300hp is definitely too much since the rules state the power has to be 285hp, but perhaps the 10km car can be tuned to reach that power with a different torque : that's what I want to check tonight.
Original suspension is fine for me, unless it gives an unfair advantage.

The 300hp. đź‘Ž
(just my opinion though)

The Original suspension. đź‘Ť :sly:

If anything the "original" may be a disadvantage since it does not have adjustable rebound and bound.

I would like to see the original stay in for 2 reasons.

1) It is what I've used to already finish a clean lap I may submit.
2) The original is what I wanted to use before the full custom.

I don't know if there is any advantage to it, but I like the way it runs and since GT mode is the place where suspension setups are the name of the game... :mischievous:

That's just my opinion though.
If Flat-Out sees the Original suspension as an advatage I will simply start over again and move on.

Anyway, with my car setup as it was I had a real fun time lapping Deep Forest.
Really reminded me of a Mini-N'Ring. :dopey:

It does however allow you to have the car 14mm lower than with the race suspension. So what it loses in terms of damper adjustability it gains in 'lowness'.

Ok, then we have to mod the car to where it reaches 285HP max... :D

My mistake, I thought that all the cars where supposed to reach 285HP after all the legal parts were applied.

Boy, did I pick the wrong week to come back ;)
The car is all over the place... This is going to be a hell of a ride (literally) :D

Oh, what a tail of woe I have to tell! :(

I had 8 Honda S2000's in my garage, ALL either a lovely silver colour or black!

Beautifull to behold!

It's done 16,000 Km, so not too bad. 25,600 Cr - a little steep, but ok.

And it's Bleedin YELLOW!!!!!!

Not gold, not a nice colour, but, horribly, nausiatingly, painfully bright YELLOW

Not happy!

Neil

I want to find my yellow car NO FAIR! I WANT IT NNNOOOWWWW!!!!! Hehehe...some of us like yellow :)

Interesting point, it would even be worth a poll.
I noticed when I played against my brother that I'm taking the yellow car every time I can and he's taking the gray one. Something like 80% of our races were yellow vs gray.

LB STARTED, I'll get to the rest of ya in a couple hours.

Yeah its a long standing rivalry against one of my college roommates that stems back to the 'dorm days' of GT2 where we'd race and we'd always trash talk about which color was faster; red or yellow? Well yellow just about always was faster... :sly: I dunno why we thought we were cool, prolly because we were the only ones in the room...lol.

Just bought a red Type-V '01, fully modified, execept for the turbo and NA.
I got:
T1:0'29.008
T2:1'01.803
Nice combo đź‘Ť

Regarding the original suspension kit that can be bought from any tuner for 15,200 Cr, it gives no particular advantage or disadvantage since any of us can buy it, whatever car he/she's using.
So it's legal.

If the car's Italian, it should be red or yellow
If it's british, yes you've guessed it, BRG
German car's should be silver
Everything else should be BLACK!

And this car is both a complete blast to drive or a nightmare.

What i mean by that is..

One lap I can find myself drifting sideways around the double lefts onto the back straight, a full turn of countersteering on, and laughing my t!ts off (now I know why Jeremy Clarkson and the hamster are SO happy driving cars like this). And then the next lap I do virtually the same thing and it's in an un-recoverable slide, that defies even the brakes to bring it into line and just lifting off the throttle just makes it worse!

Not that I'm complaining really, I know it's not fast to be going sideways, but it is FUN!!!!!!

Splits from me!

T1 29.010
T2 1'02.797

After 5 laps.

T1: 28.935
T2: 1'02.843

After about 20 laps.

T1: 30.549
T2: 1'05.989

I know I can shave off some time before T2, but you beat me by 3 seconds with less time in the car... and now I have to go to work. Feh.

If the car's Italian, it should be red or yellow

The only Italian cars that are popular in red are Ferraris and some Alfa Romeos. For everything else, all colors have pretty much the same popularity and are completely random.

Not being picky or anything, but I wanted to correct the belief that most Italian cars are red (or yellow :yuck: ).

Your statement should read "If the car's a Ferrari, it should be red or yellow (preferibly red...)" :D ;)

As for the rest of your post, I agree. This car is way too unpredictable. I don't think I have taken any turn in the same fashion twice, yet.

Ok, maybe I should have said that 'I' think that Italian cars should only be in red or yellow, specifically Ferrari's and Alfa's and don't forget about Lambo's which should ALWAYS be yellow! (the rest, Meh!, who cares? Really?) ;)

Neil

Best seen : 29.2xx / 1'02.776 but the replay looked like "holiday on ice" : I drifted the last curve so much that I put both right wheels on the grass outside. I countersteered to get back on the tarmac but it worked too well and the car started to drift on the other side, so I countersteered again, etc, and in the end I drove from the last curve to the finish line swinging the rear end of the car from left to right until, of course, it completely lost its balance and spun around.
:ouch:

Question for Cyril: which power figure should we go by? Garage (where all the cars are listed) and Settings screen (where you see the smaller version of the graph) show one thing, while Sell screen and the bigger version of the graph show another.

I'm always mentioning the figure displayed at the Garage and on the Settings screen, which is always greater than the other one.
In this way someone who looks at the wrong figure starts with a handicap, and not with an advantage :sly:

If I remember correctly, which I mite add is not certain! :dopey:

The figure next to the graph in the settings screen is in HP (Horse Power)

The figure shown when you click on the graph (and on the selling screen) is in whatever unit you have set in the options. I have it in Bhp (Brake horse power) which actually gives a lower figure.

Also this subject came up in week 3-5ish (GT4WRS) and i think it was Little_chips who did a load of conversions (again could be wrong)
And it was a little confusing then too!

So I usually go off what it says on the settings screen, as Cyril Et'al have usually posted the requirements in HP.

Bummer.

While I was waiting on your answer, I was setting up two different models of the S2000, to see if mileage really affected torque or not. Unfortunately I used the values shown in the Sell screen (the lower values).

This just means that I will have to change some parts in order to match the 285HP requirement in the Setting screen.

Despite this particular, my data can still be used to prove that mileage does not affet the torque too much.

Honda S2000 Type V '00
Mileage: 6.2miles
Power: 285HP
Torque: 185.67ft.lb
Weight: 1071kg
Mods: Port Polish, Engine Balancing, Exhaust & Air Filter: Racing, Stage 3 Weight Reduction

Honda S2000 Type V '01
Mileage: 22665.3miles
Power: 281HP
Torque: 183.28ft.lb
Weight: 1071kg
Mods: Port Polish, Engine Balancing, Exhaust & Air Filter: Racing, Racing Chip: Sports, Stage 3 Weight Reduction

Therefore, the fact that the '01 model (with more miles) has a lower value of torque can be blamed on the fact that the power value is slightly lower than the '00 model, as I could not get it high enough, even by installing all the allowed mods.

Now back to modding again, so I can get the d@mn thing to have the right power...

EDIT:

I know it seems I am being a b@stard toward you, today, Neil... But...

As explained here: Quick Clarification About Power/Torque Figures and Units (a guide I made a long time ago), the figures shown on the small graph and in the Garage listing are in PS, regardless of the units you choose, while the choice of unit is correctly accounted for in the Sell screen and in the bigger version of the graph.

Therefore, if we really want to be picky (:D), the power value that should be used is the one shown in the bigger graph and in the Sell screen, as it is the only one that truly is in HP.

The Wizard.

I sit corrected!

And, don't worry, de de d'de de, Be Happy!

Said I might be wrong! :dopey:

Neil

Edit!

Anyway, WTF is a PS anyway?

Who the hell would wander up to his bud's and tell 'em 'Hey, you know what my car/bike puts out now i've had it played with, 230PS that's what!'?

No-one!

We all talk in Bhp, not some obscure bleeding unit that needs to be explained to everyone you mention it to.

Super un-cool that would be! Almost as bad as buying one of the new lighter BMW's and having to explain that it's got a carbon fibre roof!

BTW that's not a go at you Wiz, :) just a rage against the anally-retentive guys at PD who obviously don't live in the real world.

I mean really, why does an Aston Martin DB9 sound as weedy as a Fiat Punto in this game? Honestly!

Neil

I'm so confused...Are we allowed to use 6 mile cars or not? Or are we, as long as they are under 285hp?

In my opinion, I don't think the 6 mile cars should be allowed. Like Flat-O said, the original suspension is easily accessible to everyone, and really offers no advantage. Whereas the 6 mile cars, do offer an advantage, and are not easy to get. Unless of course, they come up every few days. (Does anyone know how often they appear?)

How I think it should be; no 6 mile cars; 285hp limit.
