Damn, those are some awesome splits, Dan :scared:

Here I am, just broke into the 1'00.xxx and thinking I was doing good...

I come here and see that!

Anyway, 35 laps, an Original Suspension (since they seem to be so cool), 1.5 LSD later, I finally got a bottom Division 1 worthy time:

T1: 0'28.502
T2: 1'00.783

First split is worse by a couple of tenths, but final lap time came down by 0.3.

Not completely satisfied, but better than earlier, that's for sure.

Anyway, Kent, thanks for the settings 👍
It immediately felt like I was driving another car - very well balanced and a lot easier to drive than earlier. Great setup

Looks like I will have to give it another few good hours, to trim another tenth or two.

indeed Dan your times are crazy. I can pretty much match your T1 - T2, but your T1 and no doubt your T3 are crazy.

Here are some faster times from me, another .2 to be had in T1 still and about .2ish in T3.

28.135
1'00.220

BTW Dan i hope your not cutting the chicane before T1! ( For my sake i hope you are  ;) )

Thats the only thing I could think of too...

It just doesnt seem humanly possible

I've been trying to push my absolute hardest at t1 and the best I've seen is 27.915 which seemed perfect to me. Just a second ago a blew a 59.885, ugh :ouch:

*whistles* man u are talented Ben, only a handful of times I have seen 28.1xx. Keep it up man! Is that burning rubber I smell? Is that Ben's car out there in the distance? heheh.

I haven't been having too much T1 luck, but what am I to expect!? Lol, anywho, I think I might've just done my submitting lap for this week. We'll see if I come back to it for some more or not. Anywho, I'm satisfied with this, even though I can see at least .2 out there if I could actually do it more often and put it all together cleanly, but my final time is fast enough for now me thinks.(no, I didn't go through the T2-T3 really fast, just decently fast for how I've been driving) My lines aren't great, and my speeds through turns are quite a bit slower than they should be here and there, but I'm not sliding too much so my exit speeds don't suffer too much.

T1: 28.546 (struggling to get less than a 28.4, argh)
T2: 1'00.667 (lowest so far, even with my 28.2 and 28.3 T1s...)
T3: Decent.

My NEW settings, based off of Kent's latest wonderful Type V specific settings, once again, a tad more aggressive than his:

5.8/5.8
105/105
8/8
2.5/1.5
5/5

BB at 1/1 again, decided not to have a little more up front because I wanted it to rotate a little more on turn in, and I figure I can handle entry oversteer a little better than exit oversteer, which I'll have either way, so...

And then Gearing again is my version of the tranny trick: Move final to 3.200ish, then move auto to 1, then move final back down to 2.5 and call it good.

Oh, best mod was the Lotus wheels of course... :sly:

Ok, here's my set-up:

Suspension
SR 14.5 / 14.0
RH 101 / 131
B 4 / 5
RB 7 / 8
CA 2.0 / 1.5
Toe 0 / -2
ST 4 / 3

LSD
6
15
5

Aids

0/0/0

Brakes
8 / 5

Tranny
Autoset 8

Ballast

0 / 0

And I got these times:
T1 - 0'29.075
T2 - 1'02.145

Thanks Duck.
Kent's settings already enabled me to improve my time by 1.3 sec., I'll try yours tonight.

T1 28.575
T2 1'00.900

Took me 6 hours to get here.

Nice race.👍
See you all at the finish.

T1 25.575

Fantastic T1 there man 👍 :sly:

With a time like that you should be getting into the 57's at T2... :D

Sorry, I am being a smart ass.

Well, new resolution for today: learning how to setup the car to match my own driving style and getting into the low 1'00.xxx's at T2.

Hopefully I'll manage at least the second one... ;)

Hello :) :

T1: 27.986 sec
T2: 59.938 sec

I think I can improve by one tenth on the whole lap but not four tenths in the first sector:ouch:

Bravo holl1 👍 !!

holl01
27.598
59.701

i did this split, but i didnt save the replay as the power shut off unexpectably

but i do remember the setup

8.7/6.0
105/121
4/5
7/8
same
same
4/4

gears at auto 8 (i think)
lsd standard
ect
ect
ect

i would have submitted that time as i broke the second barrier i was aiming for, know i'll have to try again

thats just crazy how do you get them splits

ok wait...

after just doing 10 laps or so

my normal t1 is a 0'28.1xx doing it legally
if i cut the gray section i can get 0'27.7xx

so for Dan to get a 0'27.5xx theres no way he can be doing it legally

although im just in the s2000 '01 ~ not the type-v

Has anyone tried using a real stiff suspension?

I have a 18.0/17.0 with a height of 72/72, and im overall quicker by .4 sec on both Ts than if using a softer setup.

best ive gotten was 1.00.7xx, so far, but i know my line isnt that great
so maybe if somone else tried it could get a better time

It also seems to me that a good deal of exit speed can be gained if you can get around the tunnel right hander and the long left hander before the back straights by sliding the rear tires just right to point the car out in a straight line, and that usually works well w/ the stiff suspension since it forcess all that force onto the tires. Ive also noticed that its also pretty good over the bumps, but as long as you stay clear its even better.

Question for Cyril: I was just wondering if I could have some clarification on my question from here.

Thanks 👍

Thanks 👍

Sorry, I saw the post at my brother's place and thought I had answered.
Both pics look perfectly clean to me.

Pic 1 : the white line doesn't matter much, I pay attention to the tarmac. And even if the lines did matter, 2 tyres are in contact with it. So there's definitely nothing to worry about.

Pic 2 : the cobblestones are not part of the track, but the situation is perfectly clean anyway. If both cobblestones and rumble strip was replaced by grass, I would take a close look at the front right tyre but it looks OK in the pic.

As for your first comment, although in the photo both tyres are in contact with the white line the car does have a moment or two where at least one tyre is beyond the white line but at no point is it close to being off the tarmac

The second picture is not from my lap but a test lap I drove and you're right, that front tyre would have been close if it was grass :scared:

Thanks Cyril, I'll delete my other laps and move this one to my PC, I've tried beating it and I can't do it, I am on the limit in that lap...very happy 👍

I'm trying to check my replays regularly during my practice sessions.
I never did this, but I just discovered this week that I'm way too careful : laps that I think dirty are 100% clean and not even doubtful.
Hopefully I'll eventually see T2s in the 1'00

I've been able to get a couple of 27.9s totally legally now... If I would cut the chicane, the 27.5 would definately be there. Dan's settings are very good from start to T1, but I can't get them to work properly for the rest of the track.

Nothing to say...but this is my 500th post...yay! Now to work out how to change that "GTP Fanatic" thing (despite it's accuracy)

best T1 i saw was 27.8 and my 1st corner was absoulutly insane and i JUST had 2 tires on the rumples on the chicane before T1.

Hotboi, use the Type V mate 👍

28.046 // 1'00.213 (S2000 Type V '01 -- I got used to Dan's settings)

A possible off at the chicane before T1 though. In some photomode shots I am on track, in others it seems I could be off. Just for fun I advanced the replay just a little and went into photomode again. This time I was easily on the rumbles, but for some reason some side photo's show me as being off. Photomode is inconsistent...

I tried to get back into the WRS, but this week definatly isnt the week to try, all I can do is spin out and lose the s2000 cuz of the N3 tires. I already almost broke my DFP because I just cant go as fast around the turns as I want out without getting sideways.

sorrry guys, but that T1 time i did indeed is no where near possible, as from memory i cut the chickane b4 T1, but i reckon that only cost me .2, so a 27.8xx is probably the limit for T1.

i'll try some more tonight maybe, still think the setup needs work, and for T1-T2, i have really no idea how to take it, meaning weather to drift it or whatever. thats a nice 59.885 T2 split Ben!

For those interested here are two screenshots of a splits leaderboard I whipped up using Excel, the first is sorted by division the second by T2....should tide us over till Luxy's works again.
