Just submitted my time.

Nothing all that special.

Of course, my greatest interest is related to settings this week.

Everyone here seems to be perverting the settings far more than myself.

On top of that, I'm using an "Original" suspension as well a "1.5 LSD."

I may post my settings but they wouldn't do much good since no one else seems to be using the Original suspension (from Amuse).

Great fun this week though. 👍

Flat-out has done an excellent job of taking advantage of the GT mode's unique differences.

Being able to adjust the suspension this week nearly negated the N tire selection all together. :dopey:

I must say, this is one of the best N tire combos I've driven. 👍

Thanks for a great week "Mr. WRS."

Looks like I'll need to put a LOT more time in this one to get down to the level of the frontrunners.

Drove an '00 S2K
Faster (though not clearly because of the car) in a '01 Type V
T1 29.262" (Seen a few times in the 28s and know how to get there...)
T2 1'02.230 (BLEH! Though I know how to get that down too...)

Setup?

Race suspension
BB 3/3
Springs 7.5/9.5
RHeight 91/91
Front Dampers 4/8
Rr Dampers 3/8
Camber 2.0/1.5
Stab 6/3
LSD 40/55/15

Seems like setups are all over the place this week. Should be an interesting weekend...

I am using the original suspension and have 1.5,2,and full diffs in garage for my v '01.

I'm using the original suspension too (from HKS) and I'd like to give a try to any settings too. Perhaps one day I'll take time to take a look at how all these settings really work and do it myself.

This is a great race Cyril, I must say you've found the absolute perfect car to run with N tires 👍.

aaaahhhh!!!
i really wanted to compete this week. but unfortunately i'm going to continue to be out of contnetion for an interterminate amount of time. :(

the Laser in my ps2 is being stupid.
it reads everything i throw at it, EXCEPT gt4.
tried my copy and my friend's copy... disc read error on both.
but every other fricking game or dvd i toss in there works fine.
i just spent an hour and a half meticulously cleaning the unit, but its apparently not a dirty issue.
why does gt4 insisit on being the most difficult to read disc ever created? >:E

Groovy new get up for GTPlanet :)

Agreed, Jordan did an excellent job! Evert and Ropert give it 👍 👍 "Way Up!"

T1 28.578
T2 1'01.039

I know how the lines and breaking points are,
but doing it is a complete different matter.
Frustration is building up already.
Nevertheless satisfied with my time.:D

Hello everybody :)

I had my first session (1 hour long) and here are my first T times:

T1: 28.201 s
T2: 1'00.489 min

Done with the Honda S2000 '99

I hope that I will improve 👍 !!

Damn, there goes the neighbourhood!

Yet another silicon enhanced alien/human hybrid joins D1, and blows nearly everyone else away.......

Within a hour as well!:scared:

Heard that you were fast mate.👍

What? Me jealous? Never!

Welcome to the jungle!

Still not touched it yet today, still not feeling too good, maybe tomoz!

2 submissions so far, and times are really close. It seems the fight for podiums will be tough this week.
As for Zikwik, I guess he was disappointed by the crappy performance of our frenchman (me) last week with a french car in the streets of Paris and he comes for revenge ;)

Yeah well, at least we haven't had to endure the 'people's' car from France yet!:sly:

Mind you, the GT4 engine should be able to handle rendering multi-coloured stripes!

Great fun being had ATM with the S2000, nice combo Cyril 👍

Some early splits from me, though I'm not sure how much more I can squeeze
out of it.

T1 - 29.164
T2 - 1.02.548

I have included a link to a GT4 setup guide written by a fellow GTP member SCAFF.
It's a very comprehensive guide and I would urge those of you who havnt seen
it yet to download it and have a read as I'm sure there is something in there
for everyone 👍.

For ballstothewall and flat-out,

Had to run on a budget to some extent this week so most parts are not full racing custom.

All power mods are to spec.

(non adjustable)
1.5 LSD
Twin plate clutch
Semi racing flywheel

4/3 Brake Balance

Original Suspension:
6.2/5.4 Springs (-.2/ -.4 from stock position)
115/115 Ride Height (stock)
8/8 Shock Absorbers (stock)
2.0/1.5 Camber (stock/ +.5 from stock)
0/0 Toe (stock)
4/4 Stabilizers (stock)

Full Custom Transmission (stock settings)

Good for a lap of... (based on analyzer data)
(using KPH)
Crossing start: 203 kph -> 221.5 kph (top speed on opening stretch)
Back stretch: 202.9 kph
Entering final turn: 200.7 kph
Crossing finish: 201.7 kph

(using MPH)
Start: 126.1 mph -> 137.6 mph
Back stretch: 1'26.1 mph
Entering final turn: 124.7 mph (never dropping below 100 mph during turn)
Finish: 125.3 mph

Finally, the only info people really care about...
28.259 -> 1'00.717 -> ?'??.???

Hope those settings help.
If anyone tries them please let me know, I would appreciate that greatly. :D

Also, the final lap time is slow compared to the sectors and obviously I could drop a bit more time between T1 and T2. :P

Not going to do it though... Like I said earlier, Time Submitted!

The ball is now out of my court and anyone who feels like they are getting competition from me now has an advatage (no new times from me).

So, good luck and god's speed to all of you (or good speed if you preffer that). ;)

Later. :sly:

Nice lap Kent!

That's the same suspension I'm using... :) I never really looked into Original stuff before this week... But it seems to be decently popular, and it also reduces the different options for tuning, lol.

I'll get to have another go tonight(hopefully clean, and under 1'00.xxx) after I clean up our house later today...

Definitely an awesome race!

PS. Anyone know how to take the long left after T2?

Well KLR,
I've posted my settings so feel free to have a go with them.
They might help, then again, they might not.

Also, I'm happy to see that flat-out got my time as well as someone else who seems to be very close to me. :P
Should be interesting to see the results now that I know there is atleast one close battle going.

As I said before though, I'm staying out of the race from here. :odd:
Seems a odd but I just don't want to keep pushing at this combo, instead I have been running the Ring in this setup.
Even on the N3 tires with less than 300hp this car is surely a sub-8 minute car on the Ring. 👍

Anyway, I'm out.
Good luck racers. :D

DOH! Just fully modded a 2001 non-Type V version because I noticed that stock it was 20kg lighter than the 2001 Type V I had been using... Then, when I finished that, I went back to see the weight differences, and I was expecting them to be evened out, but NO, the Type V was lighter this time by 20kg! So, I'm going back into the Type V, and I'm about to set out on improving my clean fastest lap time. That means, I have to get a clean lap time, don't have one yet!(saved anyway)

I have FINALLY gotten another copy of GT4 to match my new ps2. My love for the game is boundless and I think I proved that nicely by spending half of my final paycheck on GT4. Too bad I'm REAL rusty. lol

Look for some bad t-times here. They'll be mine. ;)

via PSP

Whelp, beat my previous fastest(dirty) lap time by .2ish with these T times:
T1: 28.632
T2: 1'00.832
2001 Type V

Now, legality questions, which I'm sure I know the answer to, but want to just double check for my sake and everyone else's who MIGHT have some question in their minds.

Would driving on the outside of this white line be considered legal?(yes in my mind)

Would driving with two wheels out in the dirt, and two wheels in the run-off style stuff in between the two red/white rumbles to the immediate right of my car be legal?(no in my mind)

Am I correct with these legality assumptions?

And Kent, I tried swapping in the 1.5lsd with my settings(I had already bought it because I was thinking about using it) and it just totally neutralized the car, too much in fact. So, I think I'll have a go with your settings and the 1.5 diff, I think my other settings weren't designed to work well with it...

Also, I tried changing the brake balance to 5/5 instead of 1/1, and haven't noticed any difference, definitely not in stopping distance anyway.

Nice time there Zikwik, I'll have to have another session :mischievous:

I'm looking for that 59 T2 :P

barry white.

i´m surprised that nobody has mencioned him this week. after all he is the title... if my music knowledge still exists... so i just had to say this because...

i don´t have much to say about the combo... not really a big fan of N tires, but i´ll give this one a go over the weekend

I don't like N tires either fasj, but trust me, this is a great race 👍

ok i got my t2 time down to 1'05.898 but still slow at t1 (30.394) but i seen a 29.7 but wiped out on the next turn...lol

Woah. Never remember experiencing that before... I was just driving along, zoom zoom zoom, and then all of a sudden, the car looses grip, not like all of a sudden loses grip, but all of a sudden, in the middle of a session, the suspension settings change. It was the Chassis losing rigidity! Time for a chassis refresher! *sigh* $50,000

To the people who don't like N tires... Well, when I first did this race, it was like when I first turned on GT4, slip sliding everywhere, couldn't make any turns... But, when you get used to it, SWEET!!!

Ok, KENT! w0000! The settings man, the settings! I'm using a version of yours. The 1.5LSD makes much better use of the available grip, and with the suspension tuned around the way the 1.5 handles, this is GREAT! Much SMOOTHER and EASIER to drive, lets you get back on the power without worrying as much about moving the rear end out. Your settings were a bit on the conservative side for me though, so after one lap out with them, I lowered the car to 100/100, and bumped up the sways to 6/6. Took it out for a few more laps, then decided I'd see if I could take it even lower. Went out with 90/90 ride height, and I think I felt the car handle a little inconsistently here and there, so I've settled for 95/95.

Oh, and actually, the very first thing I changed was the gearing... I find using closer gears helps a LOT on this track and with this car. I was falling behind with the stock Full Racing Tranny settings.

👍 Thanks for clueing me into this! 👍 👍 👍 👍 :)

So far I haven't been able to put anything together, but all of a sudden, when Pat walked in, I was taking it pretty leisurely(albeit FAST!), and was pretty suprised, so I started concentrating hard... Then at that second left that's very easy to go wide on and hit the stupid sticking out walls on the right side of the car before T2 on the uphill, I was TOO conservative with the steering. I was just trying to maximize my speed out of the turn, I could've EASILY avoided the wall without losing much speed,(maybe a thousandth or two slower if I had turned a little sharper), and NICKED THE DAMN WALL! That pissed me off. Hardcore. Stupid stupid stupid little mistake. On this one, I'm .22 faster than my current fastest clean lap. Without that touch, I would've been something like .3 faster, and clean, and DONE for the week(well, maybe)! Argh.

Oh, and I see 28.4xx for T1 usually, had one 28.306 which I stuffed later on doing stupid stuff, and then one FLUKE(for my settings and style) 28.23x or so.

LB Updated

I haven't tried this since Wed, overall I'm about 2.5 hours in or so with at least half that time playing with settings. Will try Kent's settings and an original suspension *IF* I find the time

Decided to trade sleep for GT tonight as I was gettin' murdered out there....yikes! I think I have about 8 different replays here, these are my best splits I *think*
