I think you should rename this weeks title to: "I can't believe it's not butter!!"

Because thats what this car reminds me of! I mean it looks like a stick of butter and slides around more than butter in a hot frying pan...

As for my splits I am not going to get exact but mid to high 24's in the t1 and low 55s to high 54s i think were my t-2's and 1'10's for my t3's so far...

Also my first laps:

T1: 23.644
T2: 52.367
T3: 1'07.638

Nice week to test your drifting skills

OK, just had my first go at this combo, and wasn't impressed.

I'm trying it without TCS, but am really having a hard time with it (using DS2). Anyone else out there using a DS2 without TCS that can give me any pointers?

Even though I'm not that keen on this combo, I'm quite motivated to keep my results going. Didn't think I'd have done this good in the first two weeks on the WRS.

LB started dudezzzz

@holz...haven't driven the combo yet but usually the rule of thumb with running no tcs is to keep the car in the highest gear possible without bogging the engine too much, so try keeping it in 3rd around the turns instead of 2nd and the tires will have less low end torque and shouldn't spin *as* much. One advantage of the ds2 is speedy direction changes, so I would say feel free to do your best to keep the car pointed toward your exit line as much as possible just avoid the rear tires from going in the dirt. Hope it helps some.

Am I going deaf or is there virtually no sound from the engine unless you're in "outside" view?

It's a rear engine, so you need to go to the sound options and set the sound output to stereo instead of Dolby[/I]. Or is it the other way around ?
Anyway, there's a setting here that results in a nice sound on RR cars.

Well, considering DPL II simulates 5.1 sound this should be the right configuration to hear the RR engines.

Thanks for the tip!

I set it on mono instead - now I can hear when to make another futile gear change before I spin off the track again.

Interesting challenge, I love porsches although this ones quite a handfull. And the track not one i'm favor of. Usuallly do quite crap on it. But this will help me improve on it, no doubt.

Hugo Boss
T1: 23.644
T2: 52.367
T3: 1'07.638

hello Hugo :)

very nice splits:tup:

00:23,770
00:52,744
01:07,657

but the last corner :nervous: that was definetly not the fastest way :guilty:

This is an excellent choice! Just today I was watching a vid of a 911 do a lap of the Nurburgring and i got to thinkin "Maybe I should do some GT4 tonight"

flat-out
I know and I'm always testing with and without full power. But in the case of the Yellow Bird, running at +0% power doesn't improve the grip much.

For me, it has nothing to do with the car. I dont care about grip. I just think it would be more fun in a car thats more realistic in its "stockness".

I just wanted to know why they ALL have to be fully modded. Can we do some that are really stock, say only oil changes for GT mode, and +0%, -0% for arcade?

We need to run -10% weight because weight cannot be verified in replays. Which is why GT mode races allows all non HP mods except visual things like NOS and Wings, as their is simply no way to verify if they were or were not used.

hey had a quick hour session, what a combo flat-out!

23.548
52.057
1'06.782

i can c another .3 left in T1 and T2, but i nailed t3 sort of

in GT3, we did everything based on trust. I guess thats not valid anymore, there are probably some drivers that deserve that conclusion.

We have a good group of racers here in the WRS, all verified by laptimes, we should know what to expect. I dont think using cars that are truly stock will make anyone go to those levels just to see their position raised in a fake race series based around a game.

I dont agree with the reasoning, but thank you for the explanation. small_fryz:tup: 👍

In GT3 we had the mk's program to fully verify the parts fitted.

And dont kid yourself people in WRS cheat for sure.

Nooooooooooo!:(
First time in about 8 weeks there's been an arcade mode race that I've been in the right country for, had the right car for, and I'm stuck in Idaho!
Maybe give this a go at the weekend when I get back!:scared:

Can't be any harder than the last time I competed in a WRS event at Apricot Hill Reverse, back in the GT3 days when we took any road car with a PWR of not less than 4.00 and sim tyres, and I ran in the Mini Cooper 1.3i! (Week 84)
Came 4th in Division 1, (only 3 other times submitted!) but dead last by about 10s overall! :) Tremendous fun!

hey, bet my previous best by .106 with a better finish but a slower T3

23.481 (seen a diabolical 23.301 once)
51.978
1'06.812

As if my time last week weren't bad enough:yuck: 5 seconds behind :grumpy:  to all those ahead of me

Now I feel like a washing machine stuck on SPIN cycle :grumpy:
Cyril, you have a strange streak in you 👍
I like it :)

I may never get a clean lap all week :nervous: but this is one hell of a car !
Makes the vid of that guy seem even more impressive. Watching him adjust the staps while tooling this thing around, my head is still shaking.

first short session, still some out there :(

T1 - 23.075
T2 - 50.942
T3 - 1:05.479

almost got it to a push situation :)
What a beast !

After looking at Hollo's time,
I need to recheck my time. I swear it was clean :)
How does one catch an alien ? ... LOL :)

That vid helped me get a feel for the car, the timing, then I had to get the loose rear out of it.... Cyril, thanks for all those tuner races :) I'm learning :)

Wow, that guy is insane. Not even a helmet! YIKES!!!! Anywho, don't think I have time for a go tonight, can't wait though!

Sorry, if I'm misunderstanding. But my interpretation is that you're in GT Mode? If not, WOW! That's insane.

insane splits! sure ur in the right car??

I know, I hear you,
I figured I was lagging as usual. I plan on posting the replay. Been wanting to join the RSR group anyway :)
Only thing I can figure is, horses for courses. shrug..
87 yellow bird, first porche, kind of reverse driving
arcade, time trial, reverse Apricot hill
554 hp ,any tyres, in manual

Remember, this is a new track and car for me... call it blind squirrel racing :) I still haven't learned the turn-in points !

sick part is, I feel there is more out there to get.
I've watched the replay a couple of times, it's clean :)
Now I get to spend the rest of the week chasing this ghost :(

Something is up with your lap oldphart, not a single person on the planet can beat holl01 by more than a second...something is definitely wrong...looking at what you've posted I'm not sure what though

Here are my splits after an hour or so:

T1: 0'24.378
T2: 0'53.945
T3: 1'09.574
Finish: 1'xx.xx4

3 seconds behind holl01...that sounds about right :sly:
