Oddly stumped... Sure, I'm extremely past the tired stage,(this week's been hardcore taxing on me), but still. I spent about an hour, just trying to beat the ghost I did in 10 minutes the first time I sat down at this combo, dirty or clean. And how Holl is more than 3 seconds faster than that, I don't know, after trying that long and coming up with NOTHING anyway. Oh well, kept at it, and managed to trim my final time down a little more than half a second.

Go ahead and toss this up on the LB if you guys update it before I post new splits or all of them from this lap:
T3: 1'08.808

Just sat down with the intention of not rising till I beat my damn ghost...sure enough within a few laps I'd beaten it twice but both times it was by 0.000sparrow-fart...so an hour later I finally got him by a decent margin:

T1: 0'24.254
T2: 0'53.430
T3: 1'08.425
Finish: 1'xx.xx5

I was pretty close to my limit here, likely to be submitted 👍

HAH! 0.000SPARROW-FART!

And KLRs sentiments above...

I'm living that too...

Spent an hour, set a T3 of 1'09.8ish,
another hour, 1'09.2ish, finish 0.4" faster
another hour, 1'09.0ish, finish 0.6" faster
another THREE hours last night, 1'08.3ish, finish 0.4" faster.

Thing is I've seen 23.8", which on my fastest lap would make my finish OVER 0.6" FASTER! ARGHH!!!

I can't keep it consistent, and to get those sub 24" starts you really have to get ridiculous drifts through the first corner.

SO, perhaps final splits:

T1 24.480 WAAAHHHH!!!
T2 53.318
T3 1'08.339

Deleted last post....

OK, I've calmed down now....

Improvement after another 2 hours of trying. Been trying to improve on this for 30 mins and am getting very frustrated again, so I'm calling it quits for today... But tomorrows another day...

T1: 24.372
T2: 54.131
T3: 1:09.936

I sat down again for about a half an hour... Got pretty much no where. Still don't know what the heck you're doing Holl. Maybe being so light on the throttle that it doesn't understeer?

Anywho, almost a tenth slower at T3, and around two tenths faster at the line.

Don't sound so surprised........it is Dan you're talking about, you watched any of his license tests from GTRP  The man ain't human

Okay, 'nuther hour, 'nuther 0.3" at the line.

Total of 7 hours now and getting close to the magic million monkeys mark of driving time. I MAY be able to hit the next second barrier, but only if I can string good sectors together. I'm happy that I'm now in the low 1'08s at T3 and would be ecstatic if I could get into the 1'07's. We'll see...

T1 24.095
T2 52.976
T3 1'08.151 :)

May be able to sneak in another hour or two this week.

After my final session:

T1: 0'23.895
T2: 0'52.997
T3: 1'07.982

With a substantial 0.65 second improvement at the line. I've found my T3s suffer a little because on a good run I'm already braking and sliding into the corner as I cross the T3 line. It would have been nice to find another tenth or two but I'm fairly happy. And I know what I'm going to award this race in the results poll. ;)

Time submitted. Good luck everyone.

hahahahahaah,

well good luck in the upcoming results of this week. looks like i'll be using the good old ds2 for a while now as i need to do some tedious repairs to dfp using a soldering iron, which i dont have.

T1: 24.027 (seen 23.9 a heap of times)
T1: 52.965 (only time i cracked a sub 53 time through here)
T3: 1'07.724 (carried huge pace through here in a series of glorious drifts through here, that i just can't replicate again :( )

Many temper tantrums later I have manage to whittle 0.6 off of my final time... TIME SUBMITTED... definitely looking froward to next week, this was just hell to do...

New times for me, i cant get much more out of it so im submitting.

T1: 24.271
T2: 55.062
T3: 1'10.862

Clear some room in your pm folder.;)

LB Updated, I can see everyone really improved their times this week, great job!

Dammit! And I thought I was done this week...

Heh! Probably still am. Probably got me again!

Just looked on the leaderboard and realised I hadn't posted any split times yet!

For a change, I think I'll just leave you guys in the dark on this one, and we'll see what happens :sly:

After some preliminary attempts I'm getting a little more used to this beast!

Has a bloody awful sector after T3, but still dropped 0.4s off my previous best. Have only started running this today, have a lot of catching up to do!

T1 24.325
T2 53.772
T3 1'09.002

Been some time since I've been around here. Had some computer troubles and some PS2 troubles as well, but finally got around to taking care of everything and thought I'd come race a little this week, being so excited that GT4 was working again. Then, I looked at the combo. Remembering how hellish the RUF variety is to drive had me thinking I'd be better off waiting for next week, but I gave it a few hours and I guess I've not forgotten that much. Hope I can get back to racing on a more regular basis again. Miss having battles with quite a few of you. ;)

Fouled up the final sector pretty bad . . . maybe some improvents before deadline.

T1: 0'23.603
T2: 0'52.549
T3: 1'07.656

Cyril, you are an evil genius for coming up with this combo!:sly:

I hadn't touched the RUFs in GT4 yet, and had heard some fearsome things!
What better way to get used to them than a WRS event in the most evil of them all! Small improvements... Slow 2nd sector, but an overall 0.5s lopped off the lap overall, and squeaky clean. (Or should that be tyre-squealingly clean? :P )

T1 24.299
T2 53.935
T3 1'08.976

Meh, I don't know what exactly I was doing so wrong, but I don't really want to spend too much more time on it anyway, so I haven't been. Almost sat down tonight, but then Pat got home. I'll submit my current fastest lap, should be good for mid D2, I think?

Wow, everyone's back! Z, VT, TheWiz, randy, good to see everyone back, not good to see you all still kick my ass

I'm submitting my lap that is represented on the leaderboard, I think I'm gonna be getting a bronze this week, but I'm happy with my effort in a slippery slippery vehicle

shockwaveracing
how on earth did i manage to go from near the top of the leaderboard, to bottom 10 minutes slower at T3 than holl01... :P

Because you're hopeless. That's how!

What did you do between T2 and T3? Pull over and change a tyre?

Submitted the time i got last Tuesday represented on the leaderboard. Not ran the combo since. DFP should arrive sometime today, so expect this to be the last half decent time i get for quite a while.

I am sorry to disappoint you, my friend, but I will not submit a time, this week :(
I could never figure the car out, so I decided to sit out for this week.
But do not worry, though, it's just an exception. I will be racing as much as I can, from now on. I did the first two races since I had the DFP (Week 42 and 43), and I am trying to stick to my resolution of racing with you guys more often. I just couldn't make myself do it, for this week. The Yellow Bird is just too much for my DFP and my current level of skills with it.

Anyway, see you all in Week 45, hopefully at La Sarthe 👍 :D

The Wizard.

Great to see ya back Z. ! :) I will certainly be looking forward to resuming our battles of old. 👍 :mischievous:
I've gotten soft and lazy in the meantime, so take it easy on me hmm? :sly:

Work and traveling took up all my time this week. Only had time to drive a grand total of five-ten laps last night with the combo and got a 1'08.5xx, but it had an off, so I won't be submitting a time this week. :guilty:

Good luck all. It looked like a great, fun combo! See y'all at week 45.

No racing last night. Watching Olympics and FINALLY golded all licenses after blowing through them to get going on the game. Last ones were GC in the Starrion, Ice Arena in the Hyundai, and Chamonix in the Peugeot. Chamonix is just tough to finish, but on my first finish I beat gold by 4 or 5 seconds. Oh well, now I have the Model T! Wheee....

Anyway, time submitted. Fun, but humbling week.

-SHig

Time submitted.
Not too bad, I hope, for a single day of practice.
See you all again for another arcade race soon.👍
