GT4 WRS Week 44 : "Ruf enuf ?"

definitely the most frustrating WRS i have done... punched the telly last night i was so 🤬 off at it, needless to say "TV - 1; My Fist - 0" might be a rematch on the cards though... :ouch:

anywayz i am going to give this race a rest for a while, very nearly hit my target with these T times but it took around 25 laps to do it, and that is torture...

For the first corner, what I'm doing is braking just before the 100m board, shift to forth, then between your 4th to 3rd shift turn in sharply and brake. You should be able to take it at about 80mph. Personally, I can get though almost as fast not drifting, whatever works for you best.

As for the last corner, I have no idea. Could be a 2nd gear job, but I'm leaving it in 3rd. I've never been able to get a big drift on this corner, I think you just have to take it steady, as too much power will send you off to the left.
 
I just chased my ghost for an hour or so and finally got the bastard!!!

I know I'm not on the limit but finding the limit without spinning off is hard work. I've got T1 sorted and I think I have T3 - Finish sorted but everywhere else is killing me...really tough race this week :crazy:

Being a wuss and running WITH TCS, soft front medium rear to stop undertseer....that bought on oversteer though so gotta find the right balance.

Im back!! Took a month and a bit out for exams and things, and what can i say..What a week to come back. Looks very tastey indeed. Ill have some splits over the next few days.

Not racing this week, too much stressfull stuff going on for me to be able to apply myself to taming this handfull of a combo!

No problems with the track, (it's one of my fav's from GT3)
No problems with the car, (just wish this was a GT mode week)

Just this car ON this track, combined with what's going on at the mo, is too much.

Good luck to all you guys and gals who are wrestling this tricky combo into line!

Yeah,

One of the reasons i'm not racing 'so far' this week!

Don't mind a car that drifts like the one we did round deep forest (can't be arsed looking it up)
But the yellowbird is just too unstable, even in a straight line, for me to be motivated to fight the bleeding thing. Especially with what's goin on in R/L at the mo.

Mite get to it over the weekend, maybe, but don't hold your breath! :indiff:

Okay well I had a realization today that if I'm going to really get the ball rolling on my IT career, I must complete this A+ exam and probably the N+ as well. Work is just making me go mad!!! So, that means I wont be really racing at all the next um month or two? Whenever I take the tests pretty much, I asked for my work to pay for it and pretty much litterally got harrassed in doing so. But I'll still do the leaderboard when needed and pop in to say hey...laters guys.

Ah!

Foster kid's playing up, and has been for three weeks or so.

Hense the dropping performance over the last two races plus this week.

Severe lack of sleep (3-4 hours a night, tops), dealing with the scuffer's, dealing with parent's who don't care enough to look after their own kid but suddenly want to control all aspects of his care AFTER he's been taken into foster-care, bloody tree-hugging-hippy throwback social-workers making things worse, stuff like that!

No biggy really, just the norm, but more so! If you get what I mean?

Decided that I just HAD to race this week. This is great fun Cyril, sliding into the braking zones with a quarter turn of opposite lock on....just perfect. :D 👍

Anyhoo, here are my splits after a 26 lap continuous session:

T1: 0'23.975
T2: 0'53.200
T3: 1'08.284

But I had a slow final sector, still much more time to find but I'll be happy to battle Shiggy, Kent and Randy Mac this week.
 
Just watched that video of the dude driving like a maniac around the 'ring and my goodness.....it's just awesome!!! If you haven't downloaded it then do it!

I dunno what my problem is, I have fast T1s, (seen 23.4), Fast T2s seen 52.3, but I always lose it, im really starting to get pissed now, I have nearly 200 laps into this one, and the lap you see on the leaderboard is as fast as its gotten!
 
Just did the calcs and I'm a half second slower than holl01 at T1, T1-T2 EXACTLY 1.000 seconds slower, T2-T3 another second lost, and no doubt another second on to the end...

How the HECK do you do it!?

And BTW, where is Curtis? This seems like the perfect showdown for holl, hot, and veil. I want a preview of these alien laps cuz I can't hang!

And finally I can start putting time in this race.

Hopefully I'll be able to break 1'10 @ T3, before it's all over with.

ok, hit my target. I might be done for this week.. Unless i have some time monday. This car is all about patience, everything reacts either earlier or way later than you want it to, but if the focus is on being smooth (while holding 20degree slip angles) it really starts to come together. One of the most rewarding cars in the game i think, and apricot is the perfect place for it.

T1- 23.808
T2- 52.656
T3- 1'07.648

Thanks for the tips so far everyone. Finally had a full 30 mins to try and improve on my first horrible clean lap from a few days ago.

Latest splits:

T1: 24.953
T2: 55.300
T3: 1:10.993

I've already done 24.5 T1's, And I've done much better T2's and T3's, but I just can't seem to string all 4 sectors together.

Question to some of you: after T1, the slight right before the hairpin, do you go over the rumblestrips or not? I want to be on the outside so I can take a better line around the corner, but just lose control too often when I hit the breaks there.
 
40 min first session: saw 1.11 didnt bother saving ghost. this combo is harder than it looks, im outa practice, lol. First time i picked up the controller in 6 weeks :crazy: gonna be a tough weekend...:indiff:
