hey, bet my previous best by .106 with a better finish but a slower T3

23.481 (seen a diabolical 23.301 once)
51.978
1'06.812

now what did i say in my first post!!! walks straight in and rips it up...

Had a 10 minute go,
T1: 24.362
T2: 53.895
T3: 1'09.385

I wonder if this week will be faster by actually drifting(small angles, controlled, not massive wheelspin of course)... I wish it would be, that'd be fun... Is it?

haha, indeed drifting is way faster!

here is a quick descript of the lap

-brake 3 lenghts b4 last sign on left, induce a drift by braking and turning initially, then let the brakes continue to slide out the rear end as u approach the inside apex (do not turn after ur initially correction), power out earlyish, u should see 130km/h if u do it properly, and dont be afraid to correct by tapping the gas if u are carrying too much speed when u regain control from the drift.

- the chickane can be drfted (small angle) in 2nd gear at 95 initially, stay in 2nd for the right as u want power, not exit speed.

-the blind left is tough to do, and i'm not sure as to weather to stay in 3rd, or chuck it in 4th, in my current best lap, i did it ****.

-tap accelearator if ur going too wide as u want a good line in for the hairpin, brake well early, and do a drift in 2nd at 55ish initially (nothing huge though)

- the LONG right is tough to do, but u have to drift it at 130 (sticking to inside, then brake midway to sight the exit route.

-the last section is initially lucky, with that blind left...which can be drifted in 3rd at 115km/h (when i say 115, ur not actually going 115, but thats what the speedo reads)

-then depending on ur position, u can do the right in full throttle or make a gas correction, no brakes though.

-the left can be drifted at 110km/h but if ur in spectacular track position, do it at 120km/h

-the last corner drift at 95

OK, I've been having a go at it for about an hour now and this is just not my thing this week.

Compared to the better times here, I'm:
2 seconds off at T1,
5 seconds off at T2, and
9 seconds off at T3.

I know that I'm D3, and most of the splits posted are D1 drivers, so maybe I shouldn't be too hard on myself. But following that pattern I think I'm gonna be 12 seconds off on overall lap time.:banghead:

How the 🤬 can they make a car without brakes??? This car is really 🤬 me off.

I honestly don't know where to start to look to improve:boggled:. The car is just so all over the place that I can't seem to tame it. Don't think I've been able to put together an entire clean lap at all yet.

I know, I hear you,
I figured I was lagging as usual. I plan on posting the replay. Been wanting to join the RSR group anyway :)

As other racers here, I find pretty unlikely that someone can be a full second faster than Dan (holl01) at T3, and I would consider very likely that there is something wrong in your setup (GT Mode and racing tyres for instance) or a typo in your post.
Yet, to prevent further (pointless) discussion, you can send a replay to any NTSC R-S-Racer who can check it and confirm if it's legal or not. (You're NTSC aren't you ?)

I can check his replay if he posts it. I haven't had a try on this yet but judging by everybody's splits he seems to be way faster than normal. I'll also try to do some laps tonight, that is if my friends don't show up to play PES5. But I doubt they won't, specially now that I showed them the online mode...

well had another quick stab at it (btw, a 1'05.4xx T3 split can only be done if ur from the land of bull****)

23.671
51.993
1'06.574

lost .15 due to stupidity in the last corner as i looked at the split and lost focus on the track, doh!

but still managed to beat my previous best time by a further .161, so i reckon i'll submit this lap in the not too distant future.

OK, here's just to show I'm not ashamed of my pathetic first clean lap:D , here are my first splits, after about 70 minutes of trying to tame the beast:mad:.

25.674
56.321
1:12.588

Now considering Hol's doing 1:06.5xx[ ], and my best time in week 42 (can't use 43 results cuz of the handicap) was about 4 secs behind Hol's winning D1 time, my personal goal will be to get the T3 down to 1:09.5xx.

Bottom end of the leader board again...

Bottom end of the leader board again...
The good thing with that is that you can only improve :D

I'm running 1'11 / 1'12 and I'm expecting to reach 1'09 if I can find enough time this week (but preparing week 45 takes a lot of time).
The problem is the proportion of wasted laps which is far too high.

yeah, look what happened to me last week. ended up D3 2nd again, even though I was at the bottom of the leader board the whole time.

I still resent you for picking this vehicle though...:sly:

Looks like it will be a fun race but the Yellowbird is just too much for me to handle in the full quick tune arcade form.
I've gotta be honest though, full quick tune or not, this is still 100% better than what I know the NRS yb week will be... N2s and "realism." :indiff:
-Kent

Just to add a note in defence of the NRS!

Our series finale will indeed be the Ruf CTR and realism is indeed quite an important factor with regards the tuning of the stock suspension that will be available.

But what Kent thinks he "knows" may not be the full story and this being 100% better than the NRS week is slightly unfair, consider also that the Yellowbird is quite often driven and quoted with laptimes as "stock and on N2's" it doesnt seem so strange to stick to that theme...

So apologies for being slightly off topic with regards to the WRS but I would like to invite anyone who is interested to have a look at the final few weeks of the NRS over in the long race section, and the final week with the Ruf will be interesting to say the least...

best regards

David

...while you should thank me for letting you discover a car you wouldn't have used otherwise. After this week you'll be fully prepared for the NRS grand finale on the Ring.

[rant] ungrateful newbies [/rant] ;)

ok, I've PM's Flat Out with a ? about the car I'm using.

Chances are, IT'S ILLEGAL !

Gotta be, as I agree, me being ahead of Hollo, ...there has to be something wrong.

So, please pull my times

I must've made a mistake :ouch:

Today is golf, so I'll try and make some laps this weekend 👍

And find myself where I belong, about 10 sec. behind the leaders :indiff:

Realism?

I managed a few laps and the combos isn't nearly as bad as you would think (if you only read holzlondon's post).

Actually, the bird has brakes and they work. 👍
Just have to know how to use them. ;)

I'm over 2 seconds off Holl01 but in a race like this I'm not suprised by that... In fact, the only thing suprising me is how "close" I am to holl01.

1'08.7 T3

Not all that fast but it's acceptable for the time being.
I figure the D1 mark is probably right around 1'08.5 or 1'09.0... So for as long as I can keep up with my division's expected times I will be satisfied (even if I'm on the bottom of the D1 list). :sly:

Being that I've got today off and time for pretty much anything, I'll be doing this race and the Mini race quite a bit. 👍

Once I've managed some new lap times I will come back and post my progress.
Until then,
-Kent

(btw, I still think this is 100%, no! 200% better than the bird on N2 at the Ring) (Now a set of R2s :mischievous:)

LB Updated for the day Boyzzz :)

Well...
Don't worry about updating the board for this jump_ace...
(but thanks for keeping up the good work regarding that subject  )

I've improved. :sly:
Not greatly or anything but just enough to change my final time. :D

1'08.5?? T3

Sorry but I'm not good about checking the other T times since it just throws off my lap. :ouch:

I ran a couple of laps last night - well, by a couple, I really meant 20 or so :D

It took me 15 of them to get a clean lap, with no spin-outs. The first few laps averaged 4 or 5 spin-outs per lap.

This thing is hell with the DFP. But I am not going to use the DS2 - I am sticking with the wheel. This would give me a good chance of learning how to use it better, especially considering that last week the MR-S was on tracks, compared to the Yellow Bird - so I really did not get much experience with controlling the car with the wheel. It was more like point-and-shoot.

So, if anything, this week will be useful for me to gain experience.

My best T3 was around 1'12.xxx. I am still a long shot away from the Division 1 "cut-off" time stated by Kent ;)

I'll put some more work into this as the week goes by - main goal: reach that time :D

Hey thx Kent! I'll keep your splits limited and until we get oldpharts splits taken care of, I'll wait to put those up. I have no idea how that could have happened, perhaps sim mode gives you more hp than 554? Well gl to ya dude!

Jerome

Oldphart's PM convinced me that there is something wrong in his options, since he mentions using R2s on the front and R3s on the read.
Arcade mode only allows sports tyres on the Yellow Bird.

So the reason for his fast times is discovered (and his times would be fine if only racing tyres were allowed). The only thing we don't know yet is why can he use racing tyres on that car ? Probably he ran in GT Mode instead of Arcade Mode, or he has a special hacked version of the game were racing tyres are allowed :D

That's exactly the experience I had getting up to speed this week (if you consider my splits speed...).

An hour in and:

T1 24.706
T2 54.035
T3 1'10.121

Bleh!

My best T3 is a 1'09.xxx right now. Love the car, but I have about 0 experince on AH reverse. Lots of experience at AH forwards, which does no good whatsoever.

I"ll be in this one probably, Apricot is one of my favourite tracks. Is it okay if i run with the 0% all mods? I'm not too good with tthis car, and id like to make it a biut easier for me to learn.

Man, this thing is a real handful. Took me 30+ laps just to get a consistent run, and I think it would be the same for any course..

Anyway, after 3+hrs and over 100laps,

T1 - 23.968
T2 - 52.996
T3 - 1'08.095

I know there is more time, and if I have any, Im gonna get it:mad:

OK, I could use a little advice from some of the experts here. I'm pretty happy with how I'm doing on the track from the first chicane until T3, but I'm really struggling with turn 1 and the turn just after T3 (2nd to last turn)

Most of the time, I can't get the tail end to break out, and end up in the sand. 10% of the time, I keep it on track, but I'm so slow I'm almost crawling.

But every now and then (once every 25 laps or so) I get a fluke where I can throw the car into the turns (especially turn 1) and it drifts ever so slightly, and stays on track at a vicious speed. Thing is, I can't find a pattern to what I'm doing to get this to happen.

And of course, when this works, I'm so surprised that I mess up the chicane or the hairpin later in the lap....:banghead:

After all my moaning over the last two days about this challenge, I'm actually starting to enjoy it. :dunce: Though I wouldn't take that to mean I'll post a good laptime...
