Just to clarify:

We can take any car, tune it any way as long as max HP doesn't go over 850 HP,right?
In that case,I might try the Tommy Kaira ZZ-II,with stage 3 turbo IIRC,it reaches 717 HP(IIRC again)

That's it.

My first ride tonight was the Spyker C8 Laviolette (great car at 649hp), then I took the Supra RZ at 834hp which gave on lap 2 :
T1 : 0'33.151
T2 : 1'08.805
T3 : 1'37.265
T4 : 2'01.001
T5 : 2'31.610
T6 : 3'04.997
Top speed : 362 km/h

Did you take the Supra in black color?
Whenever I drive a black Supra,I feel like I'm in that Getaway in Stockholm 2 movie.....*hints a idea for next week, only thing we would do it in paris or any night track*

I'm buying mostly yellow or white cars. My Supra is white.
BTW, I just tested the Nardo at 812 hp and it's far better than the Supra.

I tested the Nike too but I can't manage all these gears : you're in 8th gear when you see the red 3 flashing for the next turn, and that doesn't leave enough time to both calculate how many times you need to click on L2 and downshift five times. :dunce:

Well, no luck so far.

I took a couple of cars, the Denso Supra and the Pagani Zonda LM. The lap with the Toyota was a lot faster than my best with the Zonda.

Then, just to see if I still have it, I re-did the License test S-15 and I came within 3 seconds of my best lap time back in Week 8 :indiff:

I guess I have a lot more work to do. Both for this race and with the DFP.

Later.

Wow! 3 years. Thanks for keeping the WRS alive and kickin flat-out, you've done an excellent job. :)
Nice to see that you still take a look at the WRS from time to time. Would you have bet when you posted the 'Supraman' race that the series would feature over 400 registered drivers 3 years later ?
Some GT4 forums have less members than that ! :scared:

Just done a sub 2 min 58 sec T6 in a 1970 car!

Neil

Tried again with my all time favorite car and did decent. It sure was fun though. :)

Mazda RX-7 Spirit R 600HP - Div 2 DS2
T1 - 0'33.249
T2 - 1'10.357
T3 - 1'40.451
T4 - 2'04.523
T5 - 2'34.697
T6 - 3'06.442

There is definitely a couple more seconds to be had as I keep messing up brake timing for the second chicane on Mulsane.

Damn Right!

This is an absolute BEAUTY of a car!

840 HP, fantastic brakes, smooth as silk to drive, and right-foot friendly with tcs set to 1

Check this out!

--Ford GT40--Toyota 7
T1- 33.795 -- 30.347 (3.448 secs faster)
T2-1'10.510 - 1'05.316 (5.194 secs)
T3-1'39.197 - 1'32.968 (6.229 secs- I made a slight mistake)
T4-2'04.166 - 1'55.512 (8.654 secs)
T5-2'35.174 - 1'23.946 (11.224 secs)
T6-3'08.044 - 2'54.070 (13.974 secs)

And 18.989 faster at the line!

What a difference a single year and 200 brake makes!
Well Chuffed so far!

Neil

T3 1'29.369
T4 1'50.600

Modern ('90-now) Mazda 787B race car '91 (black)

Party on!

2 Things:
First: I can't get away with as many things in sim mode as I can in arcade mode
Second: I can't get away with as many things on the DFP as I can with the DS2

But man I love this track and what a rush it is, wondering if I'll screw up! Like really screw up and have to start over type, something I didn't ever have to worry about with the DS2, I just lost a tenth here or there u know? Now its like all I got just to finish a lap here at Sarthe I WUV IT! Trimmed another second off my first lap with my 3rd lap, I am oh so tempted to see what I can get with my trusy DS2, but I wont..not yet atleast...lol.

28.536
1:00.451
1:26.479
1:48.039
2:14.878 (still need to work on wheelspin the tight righty just after this T split, I can gain .5 there easy)
2:43.947

Was that on Mediums or SuperSofts?

EXelero
gonna see if i can find a classic thats up to speed cos i get fed up of the usual rubbish handling, flat looking, no nonsense cars!
Pat(Tuff240) and I are going to drive some definitely not flat, or rubbish handling cars... :sly: VOLVO 245GLTs!!! I got him to race me. We're on! w000t.

So, that'll be my second era car, whatever thingy, I'll pick something else for first and third eras. I'd really LOVE to do the three era thing, that way I drive more than one car, the Volvo is slow, I need to drive some fast stuff on this track too ya know!

So, I vote TWO WEEKS and THREE ERAS(aka three allowable submissions, just for fun, no points getting handed out this week?).

1'27.120
1'48.977 (made a BIG mistake just b4 split, ie I out braked myself and missed the apex)
2'15.833
2'44.038

Look in you rear-view mirror Jerome, I'm waving at ya! :)

Waving for you to get out the way, that is!

Neil

*moves his slow Audi R8 to the side of the track so that Neil can blow past me*...hehe I'm driving probably my favorite le mans car the Audi R8 Race Car and its yellow! WOOT! Updating the freakin' LB, this one is murder to update! AHH!!! So I'm just posting whichever time is fastest.

I tried it again with SuperSofts this time and improved slightly.

T1 - 0'29.062
T2 - 1'01.925
T3 - 1'27.776
T4 - 1'49.571
T5 - 2'16.754
T6 - 2'44.526

I knocked off over 14 seconds compared to when I ran the mediums.

Just for clarification purposes, before I put too many laps into this the wrong way:

Do the rules apply even for the part immediately preceding the start of a lap?
I know that during the actual lap we cannot cut chicanes or go onto the "red tarmac" or the "dust covered parts". But what about before the lap starts? Are we allowed to go onto those zones (I don't mean cut through the grass) to have a better launch?

I just want to know before it's too late.

Not sure matteo,

I think it would be the same as at trail mountain and the chichane under the bridge onto the s/f straight.

Not enforcable, but against the 'spirit of the rules'

Best person to answer would be Cyril, but I would think it would be so.

Best option, race as if it was against the rules, until told otherwise.

Jerome mate, my fast laps are in the Mazda 787B '91 (the ONLY Japanese car to have ever won the overall Le Mans 24 by the way)
and new splits

Well said, Neil 👍
I agree completely with you. The reason I was asking was this:

It's not that launching illegally buys me that much more speed, it's just easier to get a good launch this way, rather than breaking too much to keep it legal and then ending up breaking way too much and having to restart, because the ghost just blows by. I can get good legal launches, occasionally, but the ratios of good launches versus attempts is way too low.

But anyway, I agree with you. Better go the extra mile and restart until I get a good and legal launch, rather than submitting a time I knew the start was not done within the rules and the "spirit", as you said.

Anyway, while I was waiting for somebody to reply, I did 2 laps (literally) with the Mazda 787B. I am glad I launched legally, as the second one turned out to be quite a nice lap :D

I'll be back with the splits in a couple of minutes...

EDIT: Well, so much for trying :indiff:
Turns out the lap was dirty in a couple of spots. I am sure I can replicate it, though, as it was nothing major. Anyway, here are the splits, just for the sake of putting something up:

Car: Mazda 787B Race Car '01 - Black Model (of course) - Oil change, 843 HP, RSS - Everything stock exept for driving aids (0/0/1), Limited Slip (5/5/5) and Auto set to 18:

T1: 0'28.424
T2: 1'00.055
T3: 1'25.489
T4: 1'46.330
T5: 2'12.560
T6: 2'39.649

I am going to try the Bentley, next.

The Wizard.

On second thought, I tried the Audi R8, instead. I wanted to have some term of comparison, and since jump_ace just started with the DFP, like myself, I wanted to see how far off-pace I was.

It turns out the Audi R8, despite being heavier and having less horses than the Mazda 787B, is a lot faster and easier to control. I messed up in a couple of places here and there, but I was still able to beat my previous final lap time with the Mazda.

Only side effect is that I cannot have it in black...

Oh, well... Here are my new splits:

Audi R8 Race Car '01 - Red Model (sorry, can't stand the yellow one ;)) - Oil change, 834 HP, RSS - Everything stock exept for driving aids (0/0/1) and Limited Slip (5/5/5):

T1: 0'27.734
T2: 0'59.627
T3: 1'25.030
T4: 1'46.478
T5: 2'12.747
T6: 2'40.096

Lap is 100% legal 👍

By the way, if my DFP shakes itself apart, I am going to blame you, Cyril :D ;) I swear, it reaches its natural frequency down the straights...

Well, I am going to have another go with the Audi, before calling it a night...

EDIT: No more improvement for me, tonight, plus I am going to have to quit, unfortunately, as it's quite late here and the DFP it's just too noisy :D

I wanted to make a comment, though, about this race being in GT Mode. I was kinda disappointed, too, at first, but then I realized that GT Mode is a good thing, for once. In GT Mode you can put TCS to 1, which is basically all you need for these beasts. In Arcade Mode you would have been forced to have it all or none (10 or 0). Anything above 1 would have been overkill. And 0 is just not enough to have a comfortable ride (at least for me). Therefore, GT Mode was not a bad choice at all, for cars around 800 HP. Also, these cars seem to be pretty neutral and quite balanced already, in their stock form, therefore all you really need to adjust is the gearing.

If this is going to be a two week race (and, if it will really be two weeks, will it be called Week 45 + 46, or will it just count for one weekly increment? ), as I hope, it will surely be remembered as the best way to celebrate the WRS Anniversary 👍

Which reminds me, what are we going to do for the GT4 WRS Anniversary (a.k.a. Week 52)? Two weeks at the 'Ring? :D

The Wizard.

well repaired my dfp so its working now, and i hear talk of this being a 2 week race, well i wouldnt want this 2 happen, one week is more than enough time spent on le searthe or for any track in the game, and particularly when its in gtmode!

Audi R8 Race Car '01

T1: 27.616
T2: 59.037
T3: 1'24.146
T4: 1'45.114
T5: 2'11.573
T6: 2'39.973

lost at least a second in T5-T6, especially that right hander immediately after T5...

EDIT: New Splits...

pulled my thumb out in a huge way with this lap and i reckon there is another half a second in it which i can manage...

T1: 27.073
T2: 58.399
T3: 1'23.377
T4: 1'44.196
T5: 2'10.793
T6: 2'37.785

lost a little bit between T6 and the finish line, but only about 0.3 or so...

haven't modified anything on it other than changing the LSD to 5/5/5, turning all aids off, and shortening the final drive ratio a little (forget what the actual number was though)

so everybody -including me - is enthousiastic about this weeks wrs.
many remarks about two weeks, more cars and multiple uploads.
so, flatout, i think it's time for you to say what to do. suggestion:

- two weeks wrs
- three competitions: road car, concept car, race car
- you keep results and publish all, not just one

hope its not too much work for you. if so i'd be glad to help tho i wouldn't know how.

my first choices for cars are tvr speed 12, honda hsc and mazda 878.

That's how I was taking it just now as well...

But, BOY DO I FEEL SLOW! Hahaha, in the 1987 Volvo 245GLT Estate... (I'll have to take a pic because it's freaking sweet)
T1: 41.019
T2: 1'28.238
T3: 2'07.241
T4: 2'39.110
T5: 3'13.613
T6: 4'00.404

If only this car was more realistic... As in, a more correct, much lighter weight(by like 300-400kg!!!), and a much higher tunable hp rating(like 385hp, which isn't TOO hard in real life as long as you have some money, instead of 285, or even up to 700+ some if you get real expensive, lol).

Weird, my 787B only has 801hp. Maybe I should have changed the oil before racing, lol.

tried the 787 last night...

so many cars to try ans settings to tweak... this has to be a 2 week race...

i have no clue what to do in lemans, only raced in the licenses, so i have to do 3 things before i try to get a good time:

pick a car;
set up the car;
learn the track

then i can race:)

will be a very interesting 15 day period...

working on a car list for the best avaliable...

awesome event 👍
