30 min run:
DS2 l No Aids l 290 gearing (going to try 280 again later, I keep spinning after T1 when I tried 280 the first time)
23.064 :yuck: The turn before T1 kills me every time, losing about .1 on the second left and .2-.3 on the sector before T1
41.877 :yuck: I am seriously messing up the section just after T1, losing at least .4-.5 if not more

Best I have seen so far (but messed up later in the lap)
22.875
41.840

I will have another go at it tomorrow, hopefully a longer session. Much more room for improvement

wow!

vexd is gonna love this wrs. hes done nothing but rave bout the cz-3 for months!!!!

times look fast and all pretty close, so looking forward to having a go.
nice combo cyril.

I knew he had been expecting that car for months now, and I thought time had come to dust off this race (when CFM asked me to take over in October I was planning to post a Mitsubishi-only race series and this was one of the races).

Always nice to see a race that drags some old timers back here.
Welcome back

Small_Fryz convinced me to give this combo a go ... đź‘Ť It's a nice one.

After an hour or so of racing I've got:
T1: 22.446
T2: 40.997

Went too wide at the hairpin and in the last corner. I'm doing the brake-plus-throttle like holl01. It's hard to tell how much braking drift is the right amount

20 laps

22.70x
41.05x

Now i need to get the 1st sector figured out.

Smoke, dust, and flying blue cones are all I see... :yuck:

23.209
42.145

after 35 laps, with the DS2

23.209

Braking earlier and without locking the wheels should solve the smoke and dust problems.
Cones however are only there to be sent flying all over the place : removing them lap after lap while keeping all laps clean makes a big part of the fun.

I remember someone who had a sig (or was it a title ?) that said : Leave no cone standing. I always loved that sentence. Pure GT poetry :D

flat-out

I was fixing to ask if it was legal to kill some cones, in our to-be-submitted lap... Just to add to the spectacularity of the replay :D

I guess that answers it.

The Wizard.

^^ sort of the same question
One of my laps I hit some cones on one lap and scattered them over the track. My next lap was my best, but is it dirty because I hit an object?

flat-out
Race rules :
Standard clean OLR rules :
...
no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible ;

Yeah, I was going to say something about that, but I forgot! It was going to be more along the lines of; "I know of a very annoyed person who would love to participate in this race..."

As far as I know, no. Cones are allowed to be hit, as long as you don't put 4 wheels beyond the line they line.

I assume you mean, you drove a previous lap, and a cone was lying on the middle of the track which you hit? I'm pretty sure that when someone else (or even you?) watches the replay, the cones are in the default position.

Well i did! :sly:

22.353
40.616

And the finish was strong too.

Edit

Here is a nice 1.8mb vid of how to take corner 1 and 2 in style!!. Done with DS2 though.

I managed to shave .389 off my first time, so at least that's some progress...

23.048
41.917

EDIT: subracted another .120

22.876
41.760

Quality splits mate. đź‘Ť
I ran about 5-10 laps, but will have to give it a proper go later this week. (TRANSLATION: toad slow. not gonna post my sorry ass splits.) :P

Seems we had a fierce battle on this track once before??????

Initial splits after 10 laps or so:

T1: 0'22.815
T2: 0'41.705

Was quite sloppy and I can see 0.5 at T2, maybe 0.7 at the line so we'll see what the rest of the week brings. Only problem is my favourite controller has bitten the dust, I'm gonna have to get down to Electronics Boutique tomorrow and get a new one, the regular DS2 is just too small and not responsive enough

I edited the rules to add that contact is forbidden with static objects. Hitting cones doesn't ruin a lap as long as you don't go on the grass in the process.

Why dont you splurge and get a DFP? đź‘Ť

T1: 22.494 fastest i saw
T2: 40.755 (lost 0.1 here)

punched a hole clean through the second barrier i was after... maybe another 0.2 in it for me...

after 2 30-min runs and fumbling with the switches (300 tops, no aids) i managed to finish a few clean laps with decent times. my best sofar is 1.x3.xx1 but i will do many of these laps furtheron this week ...
can anybody tell me how to find the t-times of a ghost replay once you drove other laps afterwards?
flatout probably keeps us in tension for next week's wrs, no more clues?

You have to 'Save Ghost Replay' That will save your fastest time in that session. Then you have to go into replay theater at the main menu and either remember them or write them down.

Yeah, Flat-O is a mean, grumpy, old guy. He likes leaving us to tear our hair out about the next combo.

Only joking. I love Flat-O, he's by far my favorite French WRS Boss. Although on occasion he might let us vote for some track or car.

Hmmm...there's a thought?!? I'll see how the impulses are when I'm down there tomorrow :)

New splits (with my dodge-tastic-yet-genuine DS2):

T1: 22.854
T2: 41.312

Much better at the line but I've seen a 22.6 before at T1 so I know there's at least 0.2 out there for me, we'll see if I can find any of it.

flat-out

meh i preferred the grumpy old man comment myself... :P

i actually don't have any anticipation for each weeks WRS, i just hope that each week we have a fairly good one, which so far Flat-Out has delivered on...

I might give this combo a try. Grand Valley East has always been one of my favorite short tracks, and I like to have an excuse to drive a car I own but haven't yet drive. Unfortunately, I hardly have enough time for the Muscle Unlimited thanks to my commitment to the drill team. :P

And, by the by Small_fryz...no. Never. And...NO! Funny, but no! I laughed my arse off watching that video but couldn't help but to feel a hint of embarrasment--I mean that's not the professional way to take a corner! lol But it was novel and I had a good laugh but I can assure you no D1 driver does that.

Or do they? :odd:

I like this combo. The breaking of the car is powerful, although a little bit unstable. After 15 laps, I got these times.

T1 : 22.369 (Saw a 22.1)
T2 : 40.639 (Saw a 40.2)

These are great times, until I realized that I used RSS tyres. Doh!
