now, at gt.de the only part you can not drive on is the tarmac with yellow painted lines on that last long long corner. Everywhere else is fair game, is this the same for WRS??

i would rather not see curb cutting allowed, this track should be like any other tracks

I was going to post a similar question, since the neighborhood WRS group is having internal debates. In order of consistent speed, the three of us are:

JMitch17: DS2 with all aids on
LoveMyMiata: DFP with no aids on
I Don't know: DFP with TCS

There seems to be a consistent message from the D1 top dogs that aids off is quicker, and I know that driving with them (particularly ASM) makes me feel like I'm driving a boat. But JMitch17 is smoking us with them on (gosh, it could be he's just simply better :dopey: ), so I'm wondering the same as Ebiggs.

In this case, you absolutely NEED TCS or limited slip of some amount or else the car is nearly undrivable.

I think sometimes the acceleration can be so great that you great too much wheel spin, thus lose acceleration that JMitch is gaining. It may be worth adding a couple of points of TCS to see if it gives you better traction and a net result of faster times.

I have noticed I have gotten alot better running without the Aids unlike my attempts at GT3 .. maybe cause I learning better control of the car too.

Update:

T1 - 27.348
T2 - 1'03.261

I knocked off 1/2 a second and I know I can knock off another 1/2

Watch out hot604boi! lol j/k

Alright! I just crushed my old record by .3

T1 - 27.243
T2 - 1'02.785

Not to gloat but my T1 is actually faster than hot604boi's! lol wow
And T2 is only .14 off

I LOVE this combo :)

By the way, I have a touch of both ASM's on.

What are your other setttings kenny? I'm having a helluva time trying to set the car up.

I'm liking this combo, too. I actually started with NO improvements and I've been adding them one at a time as I run the laps. The net result is that I'm about 40 HP under the max possible, and I haven't started to tune with gusto, but I'm running times faster than some of the slower ones here ... makes me feel good about the possibilities.

Love the car, love the track 👍 (mind you, said that last week and I came 13th 👎

Had a go earlier

T1 27.161
T2 1'02.712

DS2

settings wise, i made a few adjustments, increased springrate 2 units up both front and rear, increases downforce to 30front 21rear. decreased ride height to 128 front and rear, no ASM, TCS 3.

from dan.

No cutting the curbs in the roundabout, obviously. Come on Dion, you know better.;) :) Stay outside the rumbles there, everyone. Two wheels on track as usual.👍

I know that, but what about the middle section, check out IB 8 and you will see, are we allowed to cut them curbs?? gt.de allows them and im just wondering. But i know the roundabout is off limits.

If you mean the curbs that stick out in the 90 degree turns, then yes you can cut them. Unless I am forgetting something, the only place off-limits is inside the rumbles in the roundabout. Everything else is OK, except wall contact, or driving through the pits.:dopey:

good.

My sector times (without cutting any kerbs)

27.202
1'02.777

I lost .3 at least exiting the corner before T2 👎

the only kerb i belive worth cutting is the 3rd corner after T1.

Old Geezer
Just to give the other Division III Drivers something to beat:

T-1 = 27.549
T-2 = 1'03.492

...O.G. :D

Hi Old Geezer, thanks for giving us something to chase, dont know about beating them though. Its got nothing to do with those old socks of yours has it ? :D.

T1 - 27.791
T2 - 1.05.336

And already clocked up 260 km ( What distance have we all gone so far? ) There is one for the stats collectors.:P

After my first bite of the Big Apple (dont mind the maggots) , im a fair way "adrift" of those times (pardon the pun). Sector 1, well not too bad, but Sector 2 I go missing big time, overdriving as usual I suspect  .
I've dabbled a bit with set ups for this, but with my skill level its hard to tell if they are making any difference. Never really bothered too much with set ups in this or previous GT "incarnations" (again pardon the pun) :).
Only have the standard wing on atm, will experiment with down force and see if that helps any, fingers crossed.

PS : BHP figures say in the garage 511, but on the replay it says 480hp , think this is where the confusion exists.

Good luck to all racers this week 👍

Steve

This is gonna be a VERY close race this week!

Just a tip to others who might be struggling: try to keep 60mph or above through most of the turns, that's the # I keep seeing in my best turns

had a stab at it just then, with better settings.

T1 27.360 (not the best)
T2 1'02.528 (very good)

took .5 secs off at the line

SETTINGS i adjusted
s.rate 8/5
LSD 9/44/14
DF 30/29
B.B 3/4

gears auto to 14

simply increasing the front sprinrate will solve the understeer problem, a higher ride height means more stability when curb hopping. from dan

I ran a clean 1'04.653.
I agree with Dion, the 3rd corner after T1 is the only one worth cutting through, and I expect to save 0.1 or 0.2 on this one only : the exit speed and line are much better when cutting.

Some people seem to be racing with long gearboxes, and they're faster than me. I'm at auto=1 final=3.900 with tranny trick (top speed of 270 km/h at the end of main straight).
I'll post my settings later, I have the feeling that 1'02.x or 1'01.x is reachable. That is, if I don't drive.

Im in dire need of some help here, and now i read the thread, im gonna go try some holl settings.....

Cheers man...

I have T1's of 27. But i have T2's of 1'04, so i know im wrong somewhere.

There just has to be a way to get the damn thing to stick in 2nd and third.
I have a really short fourth, which helps a lot through the twisty bits, and i have one more thing to mention that i feel is very important, that some of you may not have checked yet:

OIL CHANGES PEOPLE

I was running for an hour or so last nite, and it didnt occur to me, but the car is doing most of its speed-gaining work whilst its redlining, yes?
I checked the oil today, no discolouration on the meter, but when i went into the settings, im down to 487 BHP!!!

One oil change later, and im back to 511. Phew! that was close.
So change it regularly!!

VEXD out.

after using holl01'z setup i got

T1 0'27.051
T2 1'02.130

thnx dan

i wish i could show you guys wut my srt-4 lookz like

and 1 more thing im at 320km now on my car, i already needed a oil change
i thought the downforce i added was slowing me down, but it was because i was down on HP

380km total in the day~

wow.

so ur saying u used my exact setup? down to the very last detail? thats one hell of a lap hotboi, congrats. i think i might need to use the DFP for this one :tup

:nervous:

Had a bash at this last night before watching the footie...

T1 - 27.8xx
T2 - 1'03.900

Main settings changes - ASM off, TCS - 1, Transmission Auto Settings - 14..

Need some help with the rest...

When accelerating, the car seems to struggle in third gear, anyone else noticed this?... any tips on how to accelerate more smoothly without losing speed?

ok, did another dozen or so laps to see if i could get anywhere near hotbois effort, and i bet my time by .42x (using the same setup)

T1 27.163
T2 1'02.369

i used the DFP

OK. I've never posted any T1's or T2's so why not do it for the first time today.

After driving like 1h or so my best T1 is 0:27:685 and my best T2 is 1:04:255.

I think I'll adjust the settings a little now and do some more laps.

Cheers !

New time, ive done about 400 or so km.

26.997
1'02.632

Still need to figure out just how to nail the middle sector like Hotboi!
