I'll post the settings with which I ran a 1'04.653 in about 10 laps.
Brakes :
24/18
Suspension :
6.0 / 4.0
125 / 125
10 / 10
10 / 10
2.0 / 1.0
0 / 0
2 / 2

Gearbox :
auto settings 1
final drive 3.900 +tranny trick
(top speed at 275 km/h)

ASM/TCS:
0 / 0 / 5

Downforce : 10 / 0

LSD : 10 / 25 / 30

Weight : 0 / -15

I'll try holl01's settings tonight.

So that's the reason why I'm always at 28.x at T1.
I reach 275 km/h before the right bend and the 200m sign, then I'm at the rev limiter all the way to the braking point.
I'll try a longer gearbox.

you know the 50m sign, well just before that is this thick white line thingy across the road,

______________
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
----------------------

looks like that i think, anyway i brake just before that. you turn into the corner then let go of brake then coast a bit, then full gas and just miss the next kerb so you make a nice double apex, missing the cerbs but. 2nd gear

So, my first race with the DFP, still trying to build a suitable "cockpit"...

T1 27.6x
T2 1:04.5x

Fully modded and tuned (not well though...) but I don't think I'm getting the full 500+ HP as advertised. Did the oil change, but perhaps I didn't "install" some parts. One screen says only 480 or so.

I've gotta say I like the wheel, but it's a huge PITA to set up for those who don't have a dedicated "track".

-SHig

So, with this specific car and autotranny, did anyone notice that it seems to short shift the upper gears? Does it help to hold 3-5th gear manually or is the car smart enough to shift early to maximize torque/power peak?

-Scott

A big apple and rice don't sound great.
Can someone bring sausages and spare ribs instead, we'll have a barbecue at the finish line.

I'm having a hard time setting the car, especially the transmission.

Can someone help me out (or by posting is settings)?

flat-out

Hehehe, neat pic. I chose the yellow one, too ... something about a Yellow car ...

Thank you, hOt6o4bOi.

I have other questions. Is it normal that every gear goes in the red zone (and deep in it)? If not, how to fix it?

And what about the suspension settings (it's the first time I set other things than Driving Aids)?

This engine seems indeed to work properly only in the red zone. I don't think any settings can change that and bring better performance.
Concerning the suspension, (or any other settings), the key is : "when I don't know, then I don't touch".
What I mean is you can test default settings, or settings that someone else posted on this thread, and see which one suits you best.
In the end of the day, you'll start to figure what setting does what, and start tuning yourself.
When I start to tune, it usually ends up with everything screwed up, and then I'm resetting the default values and run my best laps. :scared:

Edit :
@ Luxy, concerning the T-times board.
shigspeed is div2, Sharkey is div3, and I posted myself (div2) a crap 1'04.653 T2.

Sorry, "yellow car" doesn't ring a bell.
"Yellow submarine" does, but it seems off topic. :)

LOL

Well late last night was able to use the Lotus to gain the cash needed for the Dodge, and true to form I took my silvery color. Today will be outfitting it with what I might need. Did take a trip around the track to just see the "stock" run of the car / course.

It was clean at least, so if nothing else can put a bottom time in :P But I am sure that will change. HEHE. Off to the shop.

ok, made some improvements with the setup and knocked off another .25

T1 27.036
T2 1'02.160

SETTINGS that have been adjusted

S.rate 7.8/4.8
R.H 132/137
camber 2.1/1.1
down force 28/26

transmission auto 14 (you should reach 284km/h at end of straight)

B.B 4/4
LSD 10/46/15

hope these settings help!

I'll start on this one tomoz. Sounds like a good challenge 👍 It will be intersting to see if my old system of setting up works for GT4 :scared:

Not enjoying this car, but oh well...

T1: 0'27.313
T2: 1'04.226

Going to see if I can get into the 1'02 bracket for T2

Kolyana
T1: 27.4
T2: 1'03.4

Haven't started tuning yet, so I hope to be able to bring them down a little.

SNAP!

I dont believe it, im losing to a rug.

Oh no wait, that was the genie in Aladdin.

I dont believe it, im losing to a girl.

Thats it, thats me. Well done Koly!!!

I have seen a 27.290 and 1'03.379, but i couldnt get thru the right after the round about without slightly grazing my paint on the wall...

Oh well...... plenty more time.... i hope.

Not enjoying this one.
Its too close.

Thanx Chips, you have helped a great deal.

And thanx Cervical Fertility Modulator, you have given me headaches. :grumpy:

:) 👍

Last night I got a faster time but when I saw the splits I wasn't that happy anymore.

My t1 was slower,27.381 -27.604, and my t2 was faster,1'03.809-1'03.497,but my end time was only one tenth faster.

Lost a lot in the circle.

So far I've managed a 27'1XX and a 1'02.4XX but I'm still really messing about with the settings. That time was done with a very soft suspension setup.

I hate to ask what is probably a really dum, question but how do you save your car setup. I can't seen to find the option anywhere.

Cheers
John.

It automatically saves I think... hence why you can have 3 'sets' of settings at any one time...

still playing with the settings trying to find a nice setup. Best clean lap (checked the replay properly this time :embarrassed: )

T1 - 0'27.230
T2 - 1'03.237 (can get another .5 off this easy as i ran really wide on the chicane before the roundabout)

*Edit*

New splits:

T1 - 0'27.375
T2 - 1'02.688

Well hope to turn some rubber tomorrow. Got the ole pit crew installing all the fancy smancy stuffies in the silver bullet ummm slug right now.

I forgot to mention, if you are new to tuning, check out the OLR school forum, it has many threads about tuning:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=116

The best advice I can give if you're new to tuning is just to try different things, as you can always put them back. Pick one setting, move it to the extreme and try it. Then move it to the complete opposite and see the difference. Only do one thing at a time or else you won't be sure which setting's doing what. The more you mess with stuff, the more understanding you gain. Even if it takes forever.:scared:

Wise words Cultist From Mars.

Now if i could only figure out how small fryz is getting these times using the EXACT SAME SETUP I AM, (Thanx again chippers) then i would be happy.

As currently, i am slow, and being beaten by a girl. Almost.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, unless your male and english..... erm.....

The only advice i would give is, stay away from the kerbs, as cutting them only launches the front wheels skywards, and loses you time.

bah. :grumpy:

some kerbs are better to cut, 1st turn after T1, 3rd turn after t1, and 1st and 2nd turn after t2 all seem to be the only ones i cut
