Well I downloaded that registry fix program and it found 419 errors in my registry
only problem is it'll only fix 16 in the trial version...such is life, I've pretty much given up on this computer, it runs well enough to do basic things right now and I guess my new one is coming so I'll just persevere.
Colby, mate!
The trail version will fix another 16 problems everytime you run it, persist and you will have the whole lot done soon enough.
Failing that, there is another program called Registry Mechanic which will fix the lot in one go (registry errors that is)
That's the one I use, periodically, and it's good! Also using Ad-aware will help remove all the leeches (trackers, trojans, keyloggers, etc)
When the new PC turns up.......
A very good idea is to keep your present PC, strip everything off it bar the HDD, a floppy drive, and a basic graphics card. Format the hard drive and install WinXP( or UNIX if you are feeling adventurous), and network the two PC's together.
Use your old one to access the net, more or less as a web-server.
Then you will have a hardware firewall, which will stop all the sh;t off the net getting onto your lovely shiny new PC.
Also it means that you can be downloading stuff AND playing games etc at the same time, because the web-server does the downloading not the main PC. Smart thinking Huh?
Just an idea, that works VERY well!
Oh and sorry for the OT guys.
