A few laps in tonight (20-30). I think I've got my lap to submit, mainly because I won't have much time to run again.

It'll probably be one of the scrappiest laps in WRS history, but I wasn't able to beat it. A big drift, out braked myself on one corner, and put two wheels way off the track.

Haven't taken the splits off it but I think it'll be well done on those posted - I'm determined to run with no TCS!

I hope I get a spare hour or so to put in another effort.

I'm ashamed to say I need the TCS, not played for a while.

Must try harder!:)
Must try harder!:ill:

I must say that No-TCS is practically impossible for anyone using a DS2.

The problem is the peaky engine, while it won't wheelspin at full-power below the 'VTEC' zone, once it does you'll be in 'wheelspinville'.

I found that about 90%-95% power if enough to get perfect drive out of corners without TCS in VTEC zone. However, you need to come down to that from 100% in the Pre-VTEC zone at exactly the right moment. Which is just too hard for me using the DS2, personally I can go from 0-95% quite easy, I just can't do the 100%-95% with the DS2.

Thankyou.

I'm off to the dealer, and should hopefully have some times later in the day. :)
Hmm, as in I didn't have to waste two hours to get the car? Dangit! I could have actually put some time into this race then!

I have a while before my roommate gets out of bed and we head over to the shop again... *sigh* So much more to do! It's coming along though: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=68951

Will be back later with splits...

Some serious work you got going on with your car there Kyle, good luck with it man :) 👍

Nice new avatar, Colby. Did you make it in Photoshop? 👍

Thanks Colby! It's definitely taking a bit longer than expected... When we were trying to push out the bushings in the front control arms we were having "problems" to say the least. We still have to get that figured out today. We don't have a torch to burn them out with, and we NEED ONE!

And YEAH, that avatar is awesome! That's sweet man, love it!

Splits!!!
T1: 15.574
T2: 35.889(braked late right after this losing at least .1... :guilty:)
T3: Almost fast enough, for me.

So yeah, I have about .1-.2 left in me for T2, and .3-.5 in me for the finish. Now, if I could play for another couple hours over the next two days, I might be able to find it! But, the next time I sit down for GT, I'll NEED to do the JGTC race, I barely have a clean race to submit for that! :scared:

Good to see the old stomping ground back in action, nice work Jordan 👍 I've subscribed too because if any online place deserves my money it's here :)

You know -- that's a good idea... I think I'll look into subscribing as well... I'm sure the money goes to defray the costs of running this wonderful site!

Very glad to see it's back up. The GTP withdrawal symptoms were starting to become unbearable! :ill:

Now to get back to racing! I've got to shave another .1 or .2 off my T2 times -- the other guys in Div. 3 are getting uncomfortably close to my time. :nervous:

[EDIT]
I just checked the pricing -- $20 for a year!! And $50 for a lifetime subscription!! That's cheap!! Wow!! I was figuring like $20 per month or something... I just signed up for a lifetime subscription!!
[/EDIT]

Flippin final turn, still can't get it right.:grumpy:

T1 0'15.933 - I've seen a 15.3 but this must have been a freak, as holl01 + MADFORCE are the only others running these!
T2 0'36.319

If I could put all my good sectors together I reckon I'd be about .8 quicker at the line. (yeah like no one's posted that before). ;)

I'm probably gonna have to submit this time, so it looks like the div 2 podiums out of reach for this week, 🤬 .

This week it's imperative to "kiss" the apex at every corner exept last one and minimise tc by exiting smooth and instead of thumping the gas rather "listening" for grip.

That last corner seem to catch us all (or so i hope:sly: ) so no real advice there... just go deep, brake hard, straighten it up and floor it... i think :odd:

well first "real" splits for me:
T1: 15.68
T2:36.29

i think i am fine in those two sectors, but i think i have a narrow margin for improvement...deadline for South America is Tuesday at 4PM (-5 GMT) so i think that i will definitely improve my times ( i hope)

I forgot to tell that im Div2 en DS2 as well ;)

Thanks for the compliments on the avatar folks, I figured that with premium I get 120x120 pixels so I was gonna use up as much as I could :sly: I used Corel PhotoPaint, I'm still not very good with PhotoShop but I'll get there.

Board Updated

P.S I made the assumption that you meant 35.xxx Randy since 36.xxx would have been considerably slower than your last splits 👍

Well, here are some new splits... T1 is actually slower, but I improved my end-time by 0.6 seconds, so I'm definitely keeping this lap, until I can do a better one.

T1: 15.992 (saw a 15.6xx a couple of times.)
T2: 36.131 (a 0.056 second improvement. I saw a 35.898 once, but got so excited I stuffed up the next corner! :banghead:)

I think a couple more hours tomorrow and I just might be able to get a 35.9xx T2... My goal is a 15.xxx T1, a 35.xxx T2 and a 1'0x.xxx at the end... (I'm 0.075 seconds away from my end-time goal.) It's all SO CLOSE! :) I just haven't been able to get it all done in a single clean lap. :yuck:

Has anyone else noticed that there's only 3.196 seconds separating first from last in the leaderboard? And the vast majority of folks are under 2-seconds back from Holl01's time!

VERY close race this week! Not much time is going to separate 1st from last in each division... Maybe we'll have a tie somewhere! :) Has that ever happened in the history of WRS?

I remember Small_Fryz and VTRacing had a tie in this week. I think it's happened before in WRS too, it happened in BC last year too if I recall correctly?!? But I can't find the thread that had it.

haha...i actually have a celeron 266MHz at home capable to be at 400MHz (100x4)...maybe more if i have a better motherboard (hmmm...actually my router computer has a board that can go up to 133MHz FSB...maybe will try something later)....i never want to sell it cuz it was in my first computer....

but myself...i guess my tolerance is a bit lower....we will see....

I have a new time for you all:mischievous:. But I have to say that TCS does help:ouch:.

T1-15:740
T2-36:037

I think I will do good this and it's fun to drift to car a little:D.

Right after T1 there's a curb at the right side of the track. First the curb is red and white, then it's concrete gray and then red and white again. The curb is the same all the way, only the painting on it varies.

Is that grey curb area also part of the track?

I think it's OK, Sjaak 68 think it's OK and I think, Cyril think it's OK. :dopey:
I'll guess the silence means nobody disagree then. I'll continue to race, like it IS part of the track then. Just hope I'm not wasting my time.

If I'm wrong please speak up anybody, so I won't submit anything illegal. :)

if u try and cut that curb u r reffereing to, u then need to brake on the sand/grass for the next hairpin left, hence ur brakes wont be as effective, and u will loose time, i think. in my lap, i didnt touch the grass/sand/gravel once, even when u could cut it without sacrificing time, i still didnt touch any grass/sand/gravel. and this was not on purpose or anything, it just happened, and also, i didnt touch any of the raised curbs, particularly the right just after the hairpin left- i didnt touch the rumble strip (inside) as i found it made u UNSTABLE

Off course you're right, Dan.

I don't really wanna cut that curb either. I just wanna know how large a margin I have for mistakes. Most laps I'm not out there, but unfortunately I'm not always, where I wanna be. ;)

Uh oh... I'm definitely going to have to do some more driving -- AngelCreator is ahead of me in Div. 3!! :sly:

New Splits:

T1: 15.549
T2: 35.794
END: .3 seconds faster.

These are my fastest by far -- and it's a clean lap, but MAN was it CLOSE! :nervous:

The right-turn just before you go under the big Dunlop tire-sign is VERY close. But I've gone over it about 20 times now, and I cannot find a point where the left-front tire goes completely off the rumble-strip and into the grass. It's VERY close -- maybe an inch of the tire left on the rumble-strip. Heck maybe half-an-inch. But I've looked at it a lot, and taken a BUNCH of really-close-up looks at it, and I just cannot see a point where the tire goes completely off the rumble-strip. Literally, I've looked at about 50 close-ups of it -- it's REALLY close, but it's not dirty...

So I guess I'll be submitting this time, unless I can somehow improve upon it before the deadline tomorrow... Whoever reviews this replay should plan some time to take lots of pictures of that one little tiny spot! But I'm about 99% certain it's clean. :)
