Well, gave it another hour tonight. Finished very nicely, but still.......turn 5 is giving me fits. Ah well. This will probably do it for me.

I'm assuming you mean T6? T1 is actually the kink in the front straight, turn 2 is the hairpin. 7 and 7A are the Corkscrew complex.

It would be nice to join this competition, but it seems as far as replays being submitted, I'll have to do some upgrading to make things work the way the rules are setup. So until then, have fun racing, look for me to join hopefully soon.

Race anyway!! The only time you're truly REQIURED to submit a lap is when you finish in the top-3 of your division... No one will think badly of you if you finish below the top-3 and don't submit a replay.

And yes, if you do finish in the top-3 and you cannot submit a replay, you will get a DQ and your time won't count -- but it will be clearly stated in the race-results that you were unable to submit a replay due to "techical difficulties." It doesn't carry a stigma like submitting a dirty replay does. (Submitting a dirty replay is VERY much frowned upon here -- check the archives for some "discussions" on the topic.)

So go ahead and race!! (Don't forget to do the qualifier first, so you can be placed in a division...)

Yawny, I feel asleep at this time today. Had an important meeting, of which I won't tell much about here. New splits!

Done on super softs, 300km setting and no aids. No TCS helps since I tend to rub the strips, making sparks sometimes. I was shortly thinking of racing MT but I simply adjusted the top speed in the end.

I just went to EB Games, Best Buy and CompUSA and none of them had it. Amazon is out of stock, same with the couple places that I found on Froogle, or it's either on back order.

Any ideas if I'd have better success at a place like Game Stop or Circuit City?

I'd really like to join, but without anyway to prove my times, or well . . . be official. . I'd just rather have everything necessary to join and do this properly.

I ordered my max drive from Amazon last weekend, I've got a delivery window of 16th to 24th of May. I've been racing now for around four weeks and nobody's questioned any of my times yet, (no need, div 2, last twice, 6th and one unofficial posting as I hadn't submitted a qualifier.)

Give it a shot anyway, maybe you will feel like you're cheating for now but you could always keep your replays and post them later, it might not count for much but thats what I plan on doing even if it does confirm how SLOW I am.

I actually will be racing anyway. I have yet to try the qualifier, probably because I've only had my DFP for a little over a week, and I want some more practice with it anyway. I'll just have to make sure that I don't make it into the top three anytime soon. It'll probably be (hopefully) within the next several weeks that I'll pick up what I'm going to need to submit replays.
I definately will not be submitting any dirty replays.

I'm not happy that I have to slide the car in a little in the first turn to be able to get a quick T1. Also not coping well with the understeer. Throttle control is ok on the slower corners. Might have to try hooking up a wheel to see if I can correct some of my mistakes.

@Jerome: Try to get some laps in dude 👍, we'll need the practice me thinks hehe.

Thanks for the welcome Flat-Out, it's nice to be back. Being part of the GTTimes team for BC6, albeit as a reserve, I need to get some of that rust off (more than 3 months without having touched GT4), and there is no better place to get some good practice like the good ol' WRS 👍

I have newer splits but are still crappy (18.1/35.1/53.5)
Had a nice run going:
17.76x (best T1, usually average 17.8/17.9)
34.660 (best T2, usually average 34.8/34.9)
53.5xx (actually nailed the curve right after T2 for once but the corkscrew kicked my ass)

It's taking time, but I finally understand how to do well until T2... but after T2 its another story.

As I was told when asking the same questions, there's no point cheating on the qualifier as it would put you in the wrong division, no max drive needed for qualification race. 👍

I suggest you spend some more time on it... It's actually a very awesome track, just a bit harder to get right in GT4... You'll get lucky, and time will fall off here and there, and then you'll catch up to your lucky time with more practice, and then you'll surpass it... Such as it goes most of the time in the WRS. I don't know if you'll make it to my level, , but it's worth a try, eh? 👍

Okay so I can now get 34.7 or 8 in my sleep, but that GOD DAMNED corkscrew is really toying with me today. I"m losing abut 1.3 seconds to Shaun in that sector alone and about .8 or so to u Kyle, well done man....everything else about the lap I"m very pleased with, gonna read up on Shaun's tips again and I guess more or less coast thru the crest of the hill and part way down? HHmm.....of course even in GT3 this corkscrew held me back in the F1 car...ahhh the glory days of old, lol. BTW T13R is Fabio

Too bad this isn't the lap that I saved the ghost of. Just had it written down from last night. Now I'll have to beat it . . . great . . . I just had a little session and kept getting raped at the corkscrew. Hopefully I can get sub 53.5.

Yup, as Jerome stated I have been given the "I can't believe it's not butter" dude's name... Fabio.

Hey Jerome, for the corkscrew, try to brake just as you're reaching the rumble on the right. I find that if I wait to see the rumble, it's already too late. On the way down I'm in 3rd gear with the accelerator slightly pressed to not spin the tires. I've gotten 52.9 on a 34.8 and it was still not the greatest of sectors. I'm still toying with the idea of putting 4th in mid way through the corkscrew. I'm sure you'll figure it out 👍
