T1: 18.790
T2: 36.432
T3: 56.254

Tightening the gears to 280, the only place that tops the redline is at the start/finish straight. :D Unfortunately I've lost precious seconds by understeering to the limit on top of the corkscrew, so I sure ain't done yet! :P

I'm still toying with the idea of putting 4th in mid way through the corkscrew. I'm sure you'll figure it out 👍

Have you been away because you we're in a padded room??

I'm struggling holding onto third, it's still a bit hit and miss through there for me.

well this race tempted me... so i'd thought id give it a go. So all i could manage was mild 53.5xx at T3 and decided to have a look at the leaderboard and see what everyone else was managing. So i saw 53.5 isnt really to bad. Before i realised i forgot to put the Zonda on a diet!!! I'll run some more laps later on with the weight loss which should hopefully put me near a 53 flat.

at the moment: T3- 53.539

Another session and I've left 0.3 on the track according to my best splits but this is pretty close to my limit:

T1: 0`17.854 (0.2 dropped here if I nailed it)
T2: 0`34.427 (happy with this)
T3: 0`52.543 (0.1 dropped if I nailed this section)

Pretty happy with that 👍

new slips for me too:

T1 - 17´687
T2 - 34´384
T3 - 52´401

had a 52´1 but the end was pretty bad... 0´5 less overall´and i´ll be pretty happy:tup:

New splits for me.

This lap was pretty scrappy, but it took me over 45mins to beat the last set of splits, so I don't know if I'll beat these ones.

It think there may be about 0.5secs left out there for me, but I don't think I'll find it. :indiff:

T1: 18.184
T2: 35.099
T3: 53.751

submitted my time, was planning for another session to tidy up that crap last corner i did, but couldnt be stuffed, it was a pretty decent lap, cheers

First splits..

T1: 17.650
T2: 34.349
T3: 53.227 :ouch: got "corkscrewed":grumpy:

Later

EDIT:

T1: 17.778
T2: 34.850 :ill:
T3: 53.098

gain .6 @ the line

Best i could muster was:
17.805
34.564
52.613

I always forget just how difficult Laguna Seca is until i run 10 laps or so and feel mentally drained by the ammount of concentration it requires to keep the car on the road and going quickly.

Very slight improvement:

18.065
35.115
53.711

EDIT:
18.194
35.037
53.420

I think we've seen quite enough puns on "corkscrew" now so I won't add another.

Flat-out
Welcome back to InsaneRacer and T13R.
Nice to see former WRSers come back from time to time.
👍

Hey! :indiff: lol just kidding. anyway. here come the splits:

T1: 18.374
T2: 35.867
T3: 54.624 :D
and annother .2 off at the line

told ya i'd beat it clean. Clean as a babys' butt no less. i'm talking four wheels on track, all but maby one or two turns. Oodles and oodles of time to come off. Finaly i see how you division 1 guys do it. 👍 not saying that i'll get much better this week, or that i even can. This may even be the run that i submit, but i can see places for time to come off on almost every part of the track so it's very tempting to give it annother go. we'll see. (need some motivation here guys my thumbs hurt. lol)

Ran out of time as I was starting to figure out how to do this weeks race. Time that will be submitted looks like:

18.1 (.3 lost)
34.8 (good sector for me considering T1, seen 34.5)
53.1 (.4 lost, I know a 52.3 was possible, but needed more time)

Overall time more than 7 tenths faster than previous 53.5

Come on now, self sacrifice for improvement! If it don't hurt, you're not learning! :sly: Come on, I can see you using more of the track, getting a little more agressive, a little more smooth, braking a little earlier and getting on the gas a little earlier... Let's see how high up in D3's results you can get! It'll only make you improve all around... 👍

I'm going to go and watch some TV for a bit, if there's anything on, and then I WILL have some new splits by the end of tonight. Unless I can't get them, but I should be able to, so, wish me luck!

KLR142

oh ok if you insist. lol

T1: 18.810 <-- dear lord
T2: 36.012 <-- yeah ok
T3: 54.638 <-- redemption! ...sorta
knocked off annother .4 at the line

yeah i know ALL my trap times are slower but like i said it was .4 faster at the line. for a while i kept it up, runing laps like this one after the other. i'd pull away through the first two sectors and get passed in the last two, often times on the last turn. I saw T2 splits that showed me as much as .6 ahead of the ghost, which betters my previous T2 by 2 tenths, but now i've fallen off the pace again. Anyway, i have a good time that i'm proud of already and will probably be what i submit. could lose annother .6 if i wanna bleed but yeah, i'm good. lol

Well, I finally read all the way through your little run-through Z(thanks!) and am now using the 290 gearing. After 15 minutes of driving, without touching this combo since whenever I originally did it, Wednesday or so?, I've already surpassed my previous best. I have at least another tenth or so to go before I even consider calling it quits for the night...

So far T3 is 52.7xx. Hopefully I can get that to the 52.6s and I'll be more than happy with my going this week. Laguna's a fun, fine line... I remember saying similar stuff week 19 or whatever when we went around in the Viper GTS-R, which gave suprisingly similar lap times...

Lol, I hear ya, but don't give up yet, there's still more than a whole day until submission!

Beef is on Kyle :sly: Catch me if you can :P Last time we were at Laguna I had a right old battle with VT, this track is fun 👍

Board Updated

:sly: Sounds good! I'm about to go try! For actual T times for that last lap:
T1: 17.859
T2: 34.649
T3: 52.754
T4: Faster than before, but not faster enough...

Edit: Check this out... I beat you that week, :P. But you've improved more I guess, being faster than me all the time now and in D1...

http://www.luxy.ca/wrs/leaderboard/19

Actually, looking at that, a LOT of people have improved more than me. Unless, not everyone was trying there hardest that week, like I probably was. But who knows!

its sad but since i'm a full 2 seconds slower than z2 i'll submit my crappy time this morning to the guy in france.
this was lots of fun because of the ugly italosuperglue but also showed what driver i really am ...
hope cyril posts 57 soon so i can get to work for the next challenge. maybe he reads the suggestions box carefully 💡

Yeah I've learnt a thing or two since then, but as have you. It appears you're losing most of your time from T1 - T2, all I can suggest is that in Z's notes (which I thank you again for Shaun 👍) the corner after T1 needs to be taken a little differently than he suggests. I brake from as wide as you possibly can at the 150 metre mark while veering in, it gives you a good line onto that next straight. For the next left hander you brake just before the 200 metre mark and you MUST take it as close to the inside rumble as possible for a good T2, I reckon you'll hit 34.4 in no time 👍 and from there you'll no doubt hunt me down :sly:

about to give it another shot. i cant believe just how much quicker everyone is!! I took a break after week 26ish.... and to see where some drivers are now u can really see just how much a series such as the WRS improves a drivers ability.

t1 - 18.145 seen 17.844
t2 - 35.077 seen 34.727
t3 - 53.307 then blew it at the work screw!!

had a quick sesh on this thing, not to my liking at all, has to be driven in a certain way otherwise it is a pig... some splits for the board

T1: 18.054 :yuck: (seen 17.6 a few times)
T2: 34.711 :yuck: (34.3xx)
T3: 52.855 👍 (recovered well through here - 52.4xx)

Yeah, I haven't been driving specifically like he says, but used some of the info provided as a guide to begin with. We'll see what I can manage here, couldn't put anything together last night after that first 15 minutes, although I was right with and sometimes faster than my ghost, just couldn't keep it clean and fast enough until the end. I've had a couple of crazy 17.7xx T1s though! One slide through the first part was soo good that it could've been a 17.6, but I braked late for the turn before the T1 marker.

Actually, that turn right after T1 is the one that I've been having the most trouble with to get right. I was going through there faster last night, and then getting that left hander through T2 is always a tough one to get fast too. And then there's always the next turn, and the next turn, and the next turn... :sly: 👍

New time set last night, took me nearly an hour to get a clean improvement though!! I'll get the splits up in little while, dinners getting cold apparently.
