I'm hoping that I get a reply in regards to my qualifying run to see if I can post here. Looks like some good runs and I'd like to be a part of it.

So with that being said, I'm out.

Go ahead a run this week's race if you want... It usually takes a few days to get placed in a Division, but I'm sure Cyril (Flat-Out) will get you in a division before next Tuesday's deadline.

Small improvement. Can see more, but have been dirty on at least one corner for those runs.

T1: 26.621
T2: 1'01.532

Yeah I was guessing something like that. Therefore I already have a ghost saved for this race and we'll see if I can improve on that.

Started finding the time:

26.782
1'02.048

...I think I'm losing most time in the endless left leading to T2. I guess it's all about hugging the white line/rumbles but I always seem to misjudge the entry.
Using 1st gear for the two tight turns and being more agressive with the kerbs has paid off though.

hhmm.....gettin left behind here this week, gonna try 1st gear for the 1st set of turns and like sausages mentioned being aggressive on the bumps is the way to go. With keeping the car in 2nd the best I've managed at T1 is 26.850 a few times that damned lefty is what is killing my time I may try using 1st gear there too (sorry dont remember if someone mentioned using 1st there too or not)

I need another .5 off my lap time total before I'll be happy

The only places I've found 1st gear to be absolutely necessary are the 1st turn and the hairpin just after T1.

The big "hairpin" just before T2 is "gentle" enough to be taken in 2nd gear, if you hit it just right -- otherwise you have to drop to 1st gear to get going again after losing all your momentum, if you don't hit that curve just right...

Of course, these are just my opinions -- what do I know. I'm near the bottom of Div. 2.

Know I can squeeze at least .5 out of this one:
0'28.017
1'04.700

On a fun run on N3, I over rev'd coming out of the turn before T1 on a fun run on N3. Now, I really like doing 360's. So, naturally, I went with the drift and pulled this perfect 360 right in front of the camera on that straight. Sweetness to da' max (as they say...)

@ Laurence- How'd I forget the Cobra? I fell stoopid.

Nah any advise is welcome by me. I usually take those double rights in 2nd I was thinking of using 1st for turn 1 and the turn just after T2. And I may tinker with 1st gear with that long @$$ uphill turn (although I'm not yet sure if it will be faster as I tend to keep the car above 45mph "usually" sometimes I dip down to 43 and then I know I've bombed that turn...ugh...but still a great combo I remember the last time we raced here in the Startos it was oh so great drifting the turns (the rally guy in me enjoys it ;)) and its kinda similar at times here again. 👍 Cyril.

For the left curve right after T2 I'm in 3rd and brake down to 2nd to take the double right  Maybe you meant to say the curve after T1? The long @$$ curve before T2 I believe I took it once without dropping under 48 mph.

I wonder how you guys are taking the first left turn after T1 (right after the hairpin). I usually find myself getting the car sideways before entering the corner to get the highest speed possible, but I was wondering if a smooth line would be better? I usually hit 61-62 mph at the apex by doing it this way (if I do it well). Also for the hairpin right after T1, are you guys using an early apex, late apex, or normal apex? I'm starting off really wide, hitting the normal apex, and exiting wide. Maybe its better to turn in a little later, and exit tighter? Or turn in a little earlier and keep close to inner rumbles more? Same question goes for the first corner. This is something I'm having a hard time with in GT4. Sometimes it seems better to hug the inside of the hairpin even though the line doesn't really seem natural

that corner i took it at 95ish km/h, and i used the whole road on the outside b4 and after the corner, bit i avoided making any contact with the inside grass, i just used the inside rumble strip a bit, but yeah, drive over the rumble strip b4 entering the corner, turn in a fraction b4 braking, then power out, using the maximum available exit space to maximises ur exiting speed, as theres a long straight coming up. and the double right Laurence couldnt have explained it any better, if u thread the needle in 2nd, rather than use 1st, u will maintain higher momentum and achieve a faster exiting speed.

after seeing myself dropped 4 places down the board i dropped another hour sesh into it, pulled 0.3 from my overall time... still a little bit to go

26.481 (saw 26.448)
1'01.356 (seen 1'01.285 but was on a slower lap)
and dropped another 0.1 from T2-Finish

another 0.2, max 0.3 left in it for me

and have been using 1st (it appears a few others have been doing it as well) through the first corner, the one after T1, and the hairpin before T2; i found drifting into the corner before T2 under braking and dropping back to 1st is the fastest way for me to get around the corner (but it only works so long as i keep the rear wheels spinning just enough to swing the rear out a touch mid corner, if i overspin them i plow straight into the inside of the corner wall, and if they dont spin enough it just bogs down. very sweet when it hooks up just right though...

I’m not particularly great on that section myself, but I imagine it would be better not to take a particularly wide exit out of the hairpin – I try to go a bit tighter so as to set the car up for the next left as per Dan’s advice. If you’re too wide coming out of the hairpin you might not leave yourself enough time/room to prepare for the entry to the next left – especially if you want to approach it from a very wide angle (which seems to be best).

quick recap of my last night session:

26´4
1´01´2
bad finish:grumpy:
and dirty:ouch:

26´3
1´01´2
bad finish
also dirty:ouch:
and i overwrite my clean save!:dopey:

26´320
1´01´181
then crash:grumpy: :dunce: :ouch:

so, wated time, no improvment, and i still haven´t figure out the last sector. lots of things to do, but i´ll have a last session monday just to record a time... just don´t know if they will be as good as the sectors...

one more thing. i love corvettes in real life, but i really hate this pig handling car. it sucks and i want to believe that a vette is not so bad in real life.

i´m using 1st gear in the very first turn and also in that hairpin after T1. using as much of the track and rumble strips as possible. riding the curbs saves a lot of time... the red car is definately faster... breaking the second barrier will not be easy... and last, we should be able to change the stupid ride height of that car... too much wiggling! back with more (i hope so) on monday

I Reckon If U Lower The Ride Height The Car Would Behave Even Worser, Very Much Worser, Or Badder, My Name Is Yellow

Still no clean improvements on my times but first gear is definitely faster out of first turn and the hairpin after T1, I can't get it to work through the long left before T2 but that my just be my arthritic thumbs and **** throttle control. :dunce:

Might have to get Flat-out to look into taking urine samples from division winners, looks like certain substances might be being used to gain faster times??

Seeing as though Dan is a robot you'd only get Motor Oil from him :sly:

Just had a good session and am about maxed out, now.

T1: 26.564
T2: 1'01.331

This is a C4 Corvette, remember. A 16 year-old model... The newer ones, especially the C6, are better handling... But they're still pretty heavy...

And this car doesn't handle badly, per se. It's heavy and imprecise, but if you know what you're doing you can make it slide around the corners pretty well, in my opinion... Plus, it's very predictable -- you know exactly when it's going to break loose, and it breaks loose in the same manner every time.

well spent my last session on this really great combo flat-out, top effort.

26.328
1'01.005

slashed a further .2 off my previous time;) i used 2nd gear for the uphill left, 1st is not faster definitely, and its 5o/5o is to weather 1st or 2nd is faster on the corner after T1, i used 1st, but 2nd is just as good. theres possibly another .1 left on my lap, but highly doubtful, the limit is .15ish away from my current best time, which was lost in the last sector, due to slight miscalculation of the last corner, and also lost in the exiting speed of the corner after T1, where i sort of fishtailed it in 1st for too long

Still not putting any better laps together, I need to find at least another .5 in T1 before I'm happy, it looks as though thats where I'm loosing most of my time.

I've done plenty of sub 1'04 T2's but keep fluffing up the series of corners right after T2. :ouch:

Looks like this'll be a long weekend for me! :dopey:

Got sick of the tank slapper and took a nissan gtp car for a run. I think I ran more laps with that than the vette! More fun has a way of creeping in with a sticky 900 HP racecar...

autunm ring is like the perfect track to run with race cars... it becomes adictive... i love it very much... cars with a suspicious handling (the ones you have to take it easy) are not all that fun. i still enjoy this combo, but it would be even better with a car like the nissan you drove IMO.

wow... so far this is the first week since joining ages ago where i'm so far off-pace i feel like i'm using the wrong car.
no idea how you guys are doing such low 26's in T1.
eek... best i've put up so far is a 27.lw / 1'02.low

SuperT: I'm pretty sure I reached a mental limit with the vette. I can't seem to control the fierce understeer. :scared:

fasj6418: Your so right about the addiction with this track and a race car. I'm going to go run it tonight with more race cars. 👍 I think it's the last time I'll post for the vette...
