W00t for Civics!

This one I actually like, as opposed to the Vette last week (not so much the combo, I just hate Vettes in general).

And since school is out Wednesday, I'll have more time to do it.

wow, you hated the vette... but you're hog wild for a slipery, understeering bumble bee?
I took 4 laps and was already so irritated with this thing I decided to sit this week out and ran the laguna seca enduro in a nice RX-7 to click another 200-aspec points on the running total.
staying ahead of a ford GT and saleen S7 for 90 laps, with a 340hp RX-7 on s2's has much more entertainment value.

I don't mind people calling them "froggies". Of course both could be considered racist or xenophobic, but that'd be slightly paranoid in this case IMO.

heh, don't forget "Yank-Tank"... I love that one.
Another interesting one is that my grandfather call's beetles "nazi wheelbarrows" ;)

anyway, gl/hf everyone.

Which is actually true, because the Volkswagen (literally : people's car) Beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche in the late 1930's under Hitler's command.
A prototype was made but the war stopped the project and the production only started after the war was over.

At last, got some times, might be a bit late in the day but here goes;

Lap 1
T1 0'36.285 (damn launch control, or lack of it. :ouch: )
T2 1'03.047
FL 1'35.451
Lap 2
T1 0'26.595
T2 0'53.282
FL 1'25.381

Total time 3'00.832 :irked:

At least it's a time on the board. :dunce:

Used Duck's settings ( Duck) with standard diff and rollcage, I can't get a decent set-up with the adjustable diff so I just threw it out, (one less variable for me to screw up). I found the rollcage makes the car less understeery, (is that a new word?) IMHO.

I just realized that since laptimes are being discussed I am probably not eligible to post a time without a maxdrive or whatnot?

hmmm.

Having a maxdrive or not has nothing to do with posting times. :sly: Get one anyway though!

time submitted.
again the rule applied where you wont beat your own time after about 90 mins of playing. good to know if you want to be on multiple races each week but dont want or cant spend too much time on the game.
i already asked cyril if we need to submit even if laptimes are published and on the board. any ideas (mrweary?)?

Yes we still have to submit, because it's not unusual that racers do not post at all in the thread. It's not a good thing for their reputation, but ok, it does happen, so they should have a chance to have their time registered too.

BTW, again I'm away from home the whole week long, so I'm not certain that I can post the results on schedule.

excellent. still i was hoping you would find the time to update the leaderboard since its now 4 weeks sort of behind.
but nevermind you are doing enough as it is.

I was going to ask about the leaderboard, I wasn't sure how often it usually gets updated? I'm still very new here.

No worries though Cyril, you do what you can, I have enough trouble keeping up with the racing, nevermind the admin. :scared:

T1 - 0'34.823
T2 - 1'01.134
T3 - 1'33.245
T4 - 0'26.205
T5 - 0'52.439
T6 - 1'24.438
T7 - 2'57.683

First lap was good up until the last corner where i touched the grass and got a bit of a 'snake' on down the first part of the straight. Second lap was quite poor in comparison. Hope to get into the 2'56's before tomorrow.

34.852
1'00.951
1'32.789

26.050
52.063
1'24.048

2'56.837

Had one of my best 1st laps but screwed up a bit in the last sector of the 2nd lap. I can't seem to coast through the left after T2 as someone said I think - I have to tap the brakes, shift down to 5th and accelerate through it to be safe.

Did these yesterday

T1: 0'34.719
T2: 1'00.872
L1: 1'32.867
T1: 0'25.481
T2: 0'51.453
L2: 1'23.448

Finish: 2'56.315

Not sure if this is the race i'll submit though

@ sausages nice 1st lap there man:tup:

Board Updated

I've checked the replay of Clemi's lap above and there is a very close call on the second lap but I think you'd be hard-pressed to definitively say it's dirty.

Well I'm back, but with nothing new.

For some reason, this combo lost it's fun factor for me, and now is a pain. I don't know if I should go further or not...

But in other news, if you drive right, you can win the race with the handbrake on the whole time :)....very odd though

New splits

Lap 1
T1: 37.217
T2: 1'04.759
T3: 1'38.264
Lap 2
T1: 27.488
T2: 54.227
T3: 1'27.408

Total : 3'05.672

I didn't ran much with the car. I was getting disinterested and feeling like 'in a ditch'. But since week 59 is with the Formula GT I decided to get a proper run.

Can somebody let me know if this replay works? it should be attached

It should be a 2:56.299 - not sure of splits 34.7 - ??? - 132.6?? 25.7 - ??? - 123.5ish
Sports Suspension, camber - 1.5/1.0 Height - 105/105 shocks 5/4
Lim-Slip 15/50/45
Gears/auto-7 -- 5th made approx 5-10 clicks longer, 6th approx 15 clicks longer
Tires S3/S3
No aids

Well I unzipped it and the file doesn't have an extension but from your other posts I get the impression you don't actually own a maxdrive? If you've just copied over a data file from the memory card this method won't work. You've also not specified whether you're NTSC or PAL?

Board Updated

Improved my time with a bizarrely quick 2nd lap - never did it before, and won't do it again:

34.999
1'01.156
1'33.095

25.487
51.455
1'23.184 :boggled:

T7: 2'56.279

I basically carried about 5-10km/h more than usual through most major corners, probably by going very wide on entries and exits.

I checked the replay carefully and it is clean, so long as we can go wide (nearly up to the wall/barrier - left of the rumbles) in the first tunnel just before the right hairpin - It doesn't seem quite right somehow, but I think it was discussed a few pages back as allowable.
I know that all tarmac/concrete/cobblestone is part of the track this week, but I can't quite make out what kind of surface that is in the tunnel because the lighting's not very good :dopey: - is it that "grasscrete" stuff?

Time submitted.

Run a grand total of 8 races this week. Just didn't have the time.

???
just bought one saturday.
NTSC-I believe (America)

do you mean I can't copy it from mem card to the maxdrive, and upload that? or do you mean I can't just copy from a mem card to a comp?

EDIT: This will work for anybody with NTSC (can't speak for PAL)

Yes, that's the correct way to post a replay, I didn't check it, but that's the correct way to do it.

Sausages, I guess that is considered legal this week. It was brought up before, and I don't remember Cyril chiming in at all, but in the guidelines for this week's race it does say you can shortcut behind the rumbles, so I assume that means on exit and entry is legal as well.

I was driving with the idea that you still have to stay within the rubmles, which makes more sense to me, and will be the downfall I guess of my time that I just submitted. Oh well.

That'll be a first.

Submitted the time I had on the board. Bottom of division 2 for me this week. :) Spent too much time faffing around with settings.

Submitted my time this week, I'll take 3rd in Div 2 if Losi doesn't show up again.

And even though others hated it, nice combo :yup:
