Hmm, division split indeed... NOT FOR LONG! I'mma go move my time up the board here in a sec...

EDIT: That means I need to make up a half a second by T2 on each lap... Hmmm. Doable, I think? Will try some versions of Ben's settings to compare with my current ones... I don't think I want to give in to using any Aids though, I'll only use TCS when it's NECESSARY, otherwise, icky ick ick!

EDIT2: NOOOOO!!!! I forgot to save it yesterday before I turned it off!!! All settings gone now... I should be able to get relatively close though, but still. *sigh*

Sure... you forgot to save it...your dog ate it! No, really, I have done the same thing a bunch of times. I always get pissed when I do that...

I just keep thinking that D1 is make-believe and nobody can run that fast unless they are aliens. :)

EDIT: sorry about the double post. (really I am not sorry) (looking down now)
>>> double-post has been deleted. F.-O.

still working very hard on cornering the beauty beast.
23.606 - 1.12.751
15.981 - 1.04.043 edited (tapped on the back)
thanks for the settings guys, they reallly change the car. i took laurence's numbers and changed back lsd (all bit up), aids to 3x1, tranny to 9.
EDITed what a fool i was! found out i only did wr1 and not 2&3. now suddenly i have a different car. back to practice again. don't want to think what this does to my win rate :-)

RRRROOOOAAAARRRR!!!

Been playing for the better part of the last 2.5 hours... About 1.75 of which were spent in practice mode on SM tires doing suspension tuning... *sigh* If only it made some sense like it did in previous versions of GT... Sure, it's a hell of a lot better than it was, but it takes way too long to get there and is a major pain in the ass, especially when things don't work right, or at all.

Anywho, the ROARING is because I just did a 22.940 T1, followed by a 1.09.000 T2, followed by a miniscule TOUCH! Damn walls! No room for error, and with an understeering car, oye!

Definitely having fun with the struggle though. Let's hope I can replicate the above and finish it off with a second lap with a T2 under 1.01... Only done one 1'00.7xx so far, looking to get that down to the norm...

Will have final splits for tonight in here soon I hope, I need some sleep still.

Uh, 1'08.8... Followed by an extra downshift in suprise a couple of turns later... Lovely... NOT!!! Yes, getting aggravated between this and tiredness. I NEED something clean and fast. Before sleep. Go go go.

Will add final(for this session) time in HERE.

Saw a 22.8xx T1, but didn't make the next two turns... I do plan on getting that for a T1 again, so you top tier D1 guys better watch out... :sly: If you care about T1 only on the very first lap, lol.

This one's good for the board, the end of each lap wasn't great though.
Lap 1:
T1: 23.009
T2: 1'09.007
Lap 2:
T1: 15.020
T2: 1'00.580

If anyone wants to know my setup other than the super fast, bright yellow paint and classic old school, black mesh, polished lip wheels, JUST ASK and I'll be glad to. There are some things I'm doing differently than the general settings floating around...

Casio
Yeah. You can post your times like this.

Cheers 👍

actually the rs4 is one of the greatest cars of all. it's just that flatout tells us not to use a wing. this makes it a very different and understeery car.
But surely, uh, not fitting the wing makes the car behave as it should (stock) for this race, therefore it was an understeery car stock? Which in real life it is.
As Balls says, the RS4 models made right up until the facelift had the engine mounted absurdly far forward, resulting in too much weight on the front end. However, this can be recitified by having a few crates of beer in the back (now there's an excuse), and it's not enough to stop it being one of my favourite cars, ever. That's not to say I won't admit it has weaknesses :)

Anyways, I'll get a preliminary set of splits for this one today. I'm on holiday now, so I have as much time as I need to get a good time for this one :sly:

having seen Dan emerge from "retirement", i now have to put more than an hour in each week... :s

another second to go i reckon, am going to chase a little harder this week...

My first clean splits, after about 8 void runs :ouch:

Dark Elite / Division III / DS2 / WRS65
Lap 1
T1 - 0'23.558
T2 - 1'11.036
Lap 2
T1 - 0'15.092
T2 - 1'02.102

Great fun :) I'm still using all stock settings, all AIDS off, but I'll have to try and make her a little more agile for chasing real fast times. Happy for now, though, to push it as it is. Much more to come!
(By the way, I like my Lap 2 T2 time :sly: )

just had a great lap i think worth a new post.
23.512 - 1.10.789
15.456 - 1.04.277
the end of the second lap was not so good but 2xt2 brings me to 2.15.066 which means i'm FIRST in div3 fttb. some t's even put me between the div2 guys ... what's happening to me? i think i should write more suggestions to cyril 💡
it's especially nice because i broke a certain total time barrier i had in mind.
i have seen a T2 and L1 time of -2 secs so there is still work to be done.
being modest again, this is all thanks to laurence's great setup he posted for which many  to him.
i am learning in tokyo to use the absolute width of the track to maintain the highest possible speed, and also to obey to the golden rule of early braking/hit the apex/fastest possible exit speed.
PS welcome back pink/bram to whom i can speak dutch.

Laurence, I see that you and I are running pretty close! Lap 1 T2 shows a gap of only 0.003 seconds  and Lap 2 T2 a gap of 0.153... I'm very interested to see what impact your settings would have on my times, so I may have to try them out soon ;) 👍

DE

Taken a second out overall with three more races and some minor tweaking.

L1
T1 23.499
T2 1'10.864
L2
T1 15.331
T2 1'02.690
Again, for some reason a scrappy second lap (infront of laurence at T1&T2 L1 and ahead at T1 L2, but messed up T2)

I have to admit that I do have the ASM (Understeer) set to 3:guilty: But I hate understeery cars.
Trying to tune it out at the minute, and getting there slowly
EDIT!
Knocked another 1.3 off at the line and cured the second lap problem I had. (It was the rears getting warmer and stopping the back end rotating on the brakes) Just addapted my driving on the second lap to compensate.

L1
T1 23.446 (minor improvement)
T2 1'10.655(again ^)
L2
T1 15.463 (slightly slower, but I changed down to 2nd in the first corner:dunce: )
T2 1'02.012 (happyish with that:) )

Will post some settings later!

Neil

Finally have a setup I am happier with. I wish I knew why the VCD setting is 10-50. The description is totally different than the slider. Anyone with any insight on the VCD, would be greatly appreciated. (I will tick anyone who gives me sound advice on this)

EDIT: Thankyou, Ben and Cyril. I just ticked your post below.

VCD controls the distribution of power between the front and rear wheels in a 4WD car. If you set it at 10, 10% of the power is going to the front wheels. If you set it at 50, 50% is going to the front wheels. Usually, the higher the setting the more understeer you'll have.

I've got some new splits too,, Adjusted the settings of Icemand to my liking and here's what I came up with,,

T1: 0'23.202
T2: 1'09.819

T1: 0'15.180
T2: 1'01.630

Very nice improvements from my side I guess,, This gave me a staggering 6!! Seconds faster total lap time than first clean splits,, Me likes it

^^Ditto.
And you can only favor the rear wheels or have a 50/50 distribution, but there's no way you can favor the front wheels, or transform the car in an FR.

Yet another 1.36 taken off race time!
Only 2 setting changed, very slightly, but logically.

L1
T1 23.357 👍
T2 1'10.326:tup:
L2
T1 15.264:tup: 👍
T2 1'01.943:tup: 👍

Settings as follows:
SR 7.9/9.8
RH 98/83
DB 3/3
DR 5/5
CA 2.0/1.5
TA 0/0
ST 4/4
Auto 11
LSD's
Init 5/10
Acc 25/40
Dec 10/20
VCD 10
DA 0/3/0
BB 4/6

Peace!

Not too sure about that quote Cyril...

I quite turned the RS4 in a FR, I used ASM understeer at 5 while no TCS or ASM oversteer at all.

Didn't used the VCD as it was crap to use, placed medium sports on the back which gave drifts during letting go off the throttle.

Had no understeer at all, but I need to watch out not to go flat-out in the corners as I'll have understeer while if I let off the throttle in the corners, huge oversteer comes up which makes the car quite fun to drive.

I also placed the weight balance to the rear+ I softed the rear springs and hardend the front springs to place more weight to the rear while accelerating 👍

Best T1 in lap 1 is at 23.4XX

Best T1 in lap 2 is 15.3XX

THis was my first try so I should improve much later on ;)

Yeah I meant that you can't technically transmit all the power to the rear wheels : you need to leave at least 10% on the front.
Of course you can tune the suspension or mix tyre compounds to mimic the handling of a real FR.

[sigh]I just wish I had time to race too[/sigh]

i'm sure NONE of you guys are gonna believe this. this evening i have tried several times to improve. every lap was absolutely 100% clean AND every try was a full second faster. with the t's i present you now i am (for a little while i'm sure but that doesn't matter right now) on top of all div3 and in the middle of div2. somebody pinch me.
lap 1 23.256 - 1.10.355
lap 2 15.390 - 1.02.259
t5 (for colb) = 2.12.614
best thing is i feel my total laptime is not too bad since i kept chewing seconds there too.
now it's up to sam to keep me from gold - i hope so since no replay device is available in this town.
again i'd like to express my gratitude to good old cyril for listening

T1 : 0'23.241
T2 : 1'09.372
T1 : 0'15.350
T2 : 1'01.119

Splits so far using default setup:

Lap 1:
T1: 24:274
T2: 1'12:720

Lap 2:
T1: 15:323
T2: 1'02:931

Can see a few more seconds being left out there, so BigRacer better watch his rear-view mirror! :)

Here are some times for you.

lap 1
T1-23:346
T2-1:10:214

lap 2
T1-15:324
T2-1:01:447

I'm still working on it.

You're gonna regret posting that set-up Neil? :sly:

Copied it to the letter (although I may change the final drive slightly for my next session), and came up with these after three races.

Lap1
T1 0'23.515
T2 1'10.515 (?)
Lap 2
T1 0'15.461 (was so impressed with my first lap time I missed my braking point for turn 1. :ouch:)
T2 1'01.337

Could easily go a couple of seconds faster at the finish with a bit more practice, plus it was gone midnight when I ran these so I probably wasn't as awake as usual. :dopey:

Be back tonight with some better times. :D

Well after I saw my T1 I decided to let it all hang out and just throw caution to the wind...I consequently beat my old race by 0.8

T1: 0`23.403 (👎 👎 👎)
T2: 1`08.943 ()
T1: 0`15.150
T2: 1`00.432

Decent finishes on both laps too. Pretty stoked with my race but I'm greedy, I'd like a few more tenths before I'm done.
