Awesome times weary!!! Its gonna be close at the end....i better get back on the track....

EDIT: after shockwaves post just below, that makes 4 drivers within .036!!!

You're gonna regret posting that set-up Neil? :sly:

Copied it to the letter (although I may change the final drive slightly for my next session), and came up with these after three races.

Lap1
T1 0'23.515
T2 1'10.515 (?)
Lap 2
T1 0'15.461 (was so impressed with my first lap time I missed my braking point for turn 1. :ouch:)
T2 1'01.337

Could easily go a couple of seconds faster at the finish with a bit more practice, plus it was gone midnight when I ran these so I probably wasn't as awake as usual. :dopey:

Be back tonight with some better times. :D

Yeah Darren, I know the final's a little long. I was just getting the suspension sorted. Will be tuning the gearbox tonite.

As to the setup, it's pretty sweet. I have seen almost 90mph sustainable round the long right hairpin, and the 'on-brake' turn-in is pretty good too.
I tried some of the more 'radical' setups with massive differences between ride heights, and they just didn't suit my driving style.
Also I remembered some of the priciples laid out in Scaff's setup guide, and kept the changes minimal. Too much ride-height/difference in ride-height causes the weight transfer to overcome the grip provided by the tyres.

If you, or anyone else wants to read Scaff's guide, it's HERE
And well worth the time spent reading it!

fresh splits

Lap 1
T1: 23.166 (22.9xx)
T2: 1'08.937 (1'08.6xx)

Lap 2
T1: 15.020 (fastest time i have seen from myself so far)
T2: 1'00.434

T5: 2'09.371 (just got my snout in front of you for now weary;) ) for the leaderboard...

I might stick my head into that a bit later. 👍 From what I've read of Scaff's guides so far it really is well worth the time spent reading it, (you could probably gain all the time spent reading by cutting your lap times :) ).

I'll have to give this weeks race another go again tonight, as I said in my previous post, I wasn't exactly awake whilst running last night and looking at the board, small improvements should go a long way at the moment. :D After three runs on your (Balls's) settings I chopped a whopping six seconds off my final so with a bit more tweaking......:)

Div 2 seems to be out in force this week, (9 of 21 on the board so far, 👍) looks like I'll have to get stuck in.

I'm starting to get the feeling that not having the DFP might be slowing me down now though. I may have to look into investing in one, or could wait for GT5? Mmm.

Back later with (much) faster times. :sly:

oh no i'm still first in div3. seems nice but now i've either got to get me a maxdrive or submit a slower time so as not to be obliged to upload a replay ...
what a luxury problem :)
to the rest of div3 - keep trying my friends!!!

i tried this combo ver very often, but i couldnt get a clean run :nervous:

this might be, cause i am driving with a dfp now 👍

Time for some new splits from me I think!

Only made some very minor changes to the settings I posted yesterday. I think maybe 5 mm on the front ride height, and .5 softer on the front springs, gears auto 10 now too, that's it!

Taken over 2 seconds off the race time, .3 off a big second barrier (for me anyway)

L1
T1 23.228
T2 1'09.781
L2
T1 15.280
T2 1'01.654

Over to you Darren! How long do you want to keep the 'tar for?;)

J/K

I've been really way too busy to put in a lot of time on this combo so far. Hopefully thing's will lighten up this weekend. Don't have times know, but I'm still experimenting with settings. I know that the ones that are out there have been working well for everyone, but they just don't suit my style. This is what I've been working on.. so far..

14.2/13.8
107/137
3/4
5/6
2.0/1.5
0/-1
5/3

LSD: 5/5/5
5/5/5
Brakes: 7/4
VCD: 10
TCS: understeer 3
Transmission: auto 10? 9? 11? cant remember exactly.

Overall this is a pretty flat setup, the understeer is definitely controllable but not perfect, yet.

Hehe, I see I will have to make a few setup fiddles from the stock race settings to find myself another second or so to take back DIII :) I think, with my current setup, there's at least a second out there. With one of the setups posted (which look pretty good to my mind, although I haven't tested them), who knows? Another time from me later today ;)

I really wish I could race this week, but unfortunately I'm only firing up the game to prepare future races. :(
Main downside of the job. I haven't submitted since week 51 !

here is a clean time 👍

T1: 0:23,198
T2: 1:08,976

T1: 0:15,056
T2: 1:00,587

T2+T2: 2:09,563

now driving with DFP

Well, I switched my tuning setup to match the setup that IŒman posted, with some tweaking of the tranny gears to get closer ratios on 4th, 5th, and 6th gears, and a lower final-drive ratio.

Getting better results -- 23.2xx on T1L1, 1'10.4xx on T2L1, 15.3xx on T1L2, and 1'01.2xx on T2L2 are the best times I've seen so far, but I can't seem to string them all together in two clean laps. Either I have a fantastic 1st lap and screw up something on the 2nd one, or I mess up the 1st lap and have an awesome 2nd lap. Still working on it, though -- probably have more time tonight...

Lap One
T1 0'23.175
T2 1'09.295
Lap Two
T1 0'15.295
T2 1'00.928

That's enough for today. Time to chill out with the wife and puppy!:D

Well, these are not the fastest splits I've seen, but they're the fastest CLEAN splits that I have right now...

L1T1: 23.447
L1T2: 1'10.283
L2T1: 15.537
L2T2: 1'02.094

And I won't say which barrier I finally broke on the first lap -- let's just say that there's not a #2 anywhere to be seen in it. :)

I want to ask something, if I change the rear tow in could I get the car
to oversteer more? I though I would ask.

Rear toe helped turn in and corrected for oversteer for me. It didn't make me faster though :(

Finally some times! And finally had some time to work on this a bit. After becoming somewhat happy with my tunnig, and a lot of hotlaps.

I finally realized that basically the most important thing in this race, is <30a-spec pts, simply because you can pass before everyone before the 1st corner easily.

I know I can take off at least .5 sec on the T2 times, being that I've already seen myself .7 faster on both. Hopefully I can just do that and have it be clean.

T1 - 23.466
T2 - 1' 10.098
T3 - 15.000
T4 - 1' 01.051

T5 - 2' 11.149

You don't want to fly past them too quickly though, if you can get some slipstream off them there's another tenth or two.

well i race best if i can get rid of the stupid ai as fast as possible. you do want to submit real clean laps, now don't you?
i prefer the 9 pts. ai setup with the 65 amg at row 5.
btw colby great work on the tables mate! cyril's not the only guy doing lots of work to accomodate us
nice wrs version with all div-x players nicely grouped together 👍
if you guys poll positively i might post some more suggestions :)

A nice clean run, faster than I expected :) the T-times don't show how much I've taken off my final time, over two seconds :sly:
Not a great start, but a good first corner, so every T-time is faster except Lap2T1

Dark Elite / Division III / DS2 / WRS65
Lap 1
T1 - 0'23.349
T2 - 1'10.277
Lap 2
T1 - 0'15.290
T2 - 1'01.753

L1T2 + L2T2 = 2'12.030

There's still more there ;)

DE

Minor update. I'm now just getting pissed, on how my 2nd lap time is more than a second slower than my fastest hotlap, same goes for T2 on that lap as well.

T1 - 23.329
T2 - 1'09.175
T3 - 15.168
T4 - 1'00.773

T5 - 2'09.948

I want to ask you people who have one, does the DFP fix the problem
with GT4's steering because for me it does not act right.

the dfp is a very powerful weapon in gt4, as it allows u to be very precise in ur line when braking and exiting corners, but u need to make sure not to be too agressive when taking corners, like dont turn the wheel too much when cornering, or u'll simply understeer badly.

That sounds fun:), one thing I want to know before I go out and buy it is
can I make the car steer all the way to lock at any speed like Forza.
Because right now the car will not steer enough at high speeds,
and too much at low speeds.
