I have tried alot of cars, one thing is for sure I don't think the Skyline will
work on this track because it has too much understeer to go fast.
Depends on what you do and don't do to it...

Oh, and I also played with the Stagea Autech or whatever it's called 260RS... Hehe. That can probably do a 44 or low 45T2 as well with tuning... Maybe lower if you're awesome.

Well a MAJOR revelation for me in this race. I've had TCS on 1 all week and have been hindered by it no end, but I couldn't have it at 0 with the LSD so low so I bumped the LSD Acceleration to 30 and turned TCS off.....voila!!!!!!!!!!

T1: 0`21.197
T2: 0`42.309

My T1 - T2 was pitiful (all because of that damn hairpin), at least 0.5 there but everywhere else was good 👍

I am running a 99 skyline GT-R V-spec N1 and I am the fastest i div 3. It works well for me.
I havent been able to play in the past 3 days because of work :grumpy: so i plan to have better splits by tommorow.

I have that car as well, have yet to try it though. I think that, and the midnight purple one are going to be the faster skylines. I won the skyline race in D3 back in week 7, I'll have to go back there to see what cars were used and what settings... Hint hint for everyone in a newer skyline... Keep in mind that each track likes different settings, but the ones there may be a decent start.

MisterWeary

Absolutely... Now try moving that number down bit by bit until you get a little bit more wheelspin than you'd like, and move it back up a notch or two, and you'll have better turning under power. Gotta find the good point. 👍

May I ask what that means??
I was just playing, :) poking fun at your saying "Not that I dislike or can't drive in GT mode."

If you want to be all out fast this week, instead of just picking whatever and having fun toying with it, and then picking another car and toying with it, pick the same car you see the fastest people currently in. I see some settings posted already for it... I think the fastest car will be either a newer supra, newer skyline, or one of the Z32 300ZXs, maybe the TVR? I haven't touched the TVR for this week's race, so I'm not sure of what it's capable of. I'm not sure about the supra or skyline either, but I'm pretty sure they'll be on par with or better than the 300ZX if you get the tune somewhat decent. The tuning/parts installed on the Skyline is quite important, take a look at week 7's thread for tips on curbing understeer. 👍

Here's the link to the Week 7 race. I needed to change my thread age cut-off from the default to get to it. The race was held on sports tires and with only 500hp, so the settings will be different from what they'll need to be for this week's race, you'll want to not have understeer the same way though.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=63872

You'll see what's the fastest in the leaderboard for that week, but keep in mind which cars are NOT used, and then look for a used version of the same car... They actually do get faster as they get newer for the most part, even if power/weight ratios are unchanged.

http://www.luxy.ca/wrs/leaderboard/7

Did a three quick laps in the '99 N1 Skyline with quick settings...
22.0xx
43.0xx (clean Colby, and yes, for the leaderboard)

And a second faster at the line than my Z31 already, which I spent probably an hour or so on.

I think I'll continue in this, or another skyline if I find one I like more... If you guys think they can't go fast because they understeer, I'll see what I can do... I did just have a nice couple of drifts... :sly: I do NOT think it'll be the fastest car this week though. Who knows for sure.

Did some runs with a fully modified Supra.

T1: 21.379
T2: 42.038

D2, DS2

I might continue with this car, it's unbelievebly fast on the straits but I'm working with the set ups, I'm having some understeer here and there but I hope that can be fixed 👍

KLR142
American possiblity? I'll assume that's the Acura...

Ford Taurus SHO?
(that would be my guess for the american %, unless polyphony did the 3.4L V8 not the older 3.2 6cyl)

The last of my marathon testing session last night produced these,

T1 22.587
T2 44.098

I think I've settled on the TVR now? Gotta stay loyal to the British (Russian owned) manufacturers. :) Tried virtually everything else.

Did this lap at about one thirty in the morning so I should be able to go a bit quicker when I'm more awake....:D

@Casio......could'a brushed your hair mate..:P

OK. I got my car sorted and it's now maxed out after making several runs stepping up the power a little at a time.

Hopefully I can be the fastest person using this car - I'm not expecting a Division win though... I think the only way I'll be the fastest with this car is if no-one else uses it!

Anyway, things are looking good for a submission from me this week. 👍

Incidentally - it was this track where I first started my WRS career. In the BP Falken D1-spec RX-7, all those moons ago...

:)

@ferrari_chris
I have not seen you in awhile, anyways I have to thankyou for telling me about the WRS.
I have gotten so much faster because of it.

:bowdown:so again thankyou:bowdown:

And here are my splits.

Good move. Glad to finally see that I have some competition in the TVR race. You can see what settings I'm using here, basically have eliminated any oversteer/understeer. The only thing that I've changed since then has been the LSD.

You can see the settings Here.

Oh and Monsieur Weary, I remember seeing this in the old leaderboards, maybe you could do it in this weeks. But if you feel like taking the time, could you add the cars to the board? That is, of course, if people have posted them.

For the record, I've been using the TVR Cerbera.

Yeah, I've been very busy with work and stuff. I hope to start making a comeback to the WRS though. :)

And, you're welcome.

P.S. I'm a bit too busy to add the car this week sorry STL...gotta go mark a billion scripts!!!

I don't know man.
I've got mine tuned to the point the understeer is close to non-existant with only a ASM of 2.

i am submitting. holidays just started & we're off to france for 3 lovely weeks of nothing (including no tv, no ps2 and no internet).
REALLY enjoyed this wrs week. truly hope cyril will include more car selection weeks into wrs.
will there be a classification by car used this week? i'd like to see how i did compared to the others using the same one - the cerbera in my case.

we'll meet again in september - talk to you later my gtp friends.

ps. i wonder if anyone guessed the car in my avatar ...

Peugot 908 RC Super Saloon.

My gay Mitsubushi 3000GT is the one thats getting me the best times, to late to change car now.

T1 - 23.4
T2 - 46.x

I've been improving my T1 constantly (since I crash too much just after T2, I have lots of time to practice), and the total laptime was improved by about 10 seconds... I'm doing "beat that ghost" training, by letting off the gas on the straight (and giving older me a 1-second lead), and then try beating it. Works well to figure out the faster way around a corner...

T1: 0'22.6xxx
T2: 0'44.6xx (I think).

I've had much faster splits, but they never formed a clean lap. Current lap, I think, was the closest thing I had. On the replay, it looks like i'm on the wall at almost every big turn - but the analyzer says clean...

Someone's cheating with their avatar....*cough*Colby*cough*

I've reached some sort of wall now...after taking big chunks of time off of every other lap during my last session...now can't seem to go any quicker. :(

I'll have another session tonight.

Came pretty close in some sections, as seen here (that chicane right at the start, after the long turn). I drifted that corner, and the analyzer said clean, but I was with two wheels on the strip, one on the road and one on the concrete.

T1 - 0'22.329 (had a 0'22.173)
T2 - 0'43.834 (seen a 0'43.6xx)

Overall lap improvement of over two seconds... Had some quick splits, but they never formed a clean lap, or were messed up somewhere in a place I'd call T3...

EDIT: Wow, T3 faster than Filizola, SuperT and Cyril.

^ Download holl01's replay for week 30 (same track but forward), you'll see what driving close to apex mean

Oh, I forgot what the whole point of this 4-line thing was - to ask if something like this is permitted...

Because when checking the analyzer, there was a bump in speed - but when I compared the times carefully, the bump was a 0.070 seconds before that - just when I hit the curb/strip/whatever this "pay-parking" thing meant.

EDIT: Update the sig... It's no longer the Corolla...

Sig updated.
Kerbs are part of the track, it's allowed to use them as long as you don't hit the wall. Photomode is not accurate enough to show contact with walls (see results for week 36), and only the data logger can show the sudden speed drop (or the G-meter in the replay, but it's less accurate).
So, if you're confident you only hit the kerb, then consider your lap is legal. Else, the rule says "when in doubt, don't submit".

I was in doubt, but I shall doubt no more. I let a friend of mine look at it, as well as my sister. Compared by-the-0.001 with the analyzer, and it did that weird G-mess-up just before that section - that's why it drifted. Whew.

Other news: I did some quicker splits, but the lap was still crap.

And some others: I'm getting a MaxDrive next week. This week, as well as 67, will be then posted.

Everybody has had a full week to look for one or more eligible cars, and most of them have been mentioned already.
